Any things I can do on my end to get setup with a character for this?

You're certainly welcome to, but I don't think it will be necessary. I can share what is needed for character creation to avoid any spoilers, etc. :)

If there's still any free spots in the game, I'd like to join as well. The setting sounds fun

Hmmm, not that I know of yet. I'll work on getting the game posted and we can take it from there. :)

I won't. I've been reading a couple pages a night after getting ready for bed, so I'm only about 16 pages in right now, which is pretty much just the Player's section on new edges and hindrances. But I'll stop there if you prefer so as to avoid any spoilers.
