[ +- ] Chase Map
OOC:
In the map above, the four of you are the blue blobs. Bosko is the red blob. He's at short range, but all four of you would need to disengage from the wheelchair ramp to give chase, meaning it's two move maneuvers to engage with him -- Move 1, disengage wheelchair ramp (at Short range to Bosko now); Move 2, engage with Bosko. An action in such a case would make that second maneuver cost 2 strain.

In the action economy, engaging with him essentially prevents him from getting into his truck, since he'll have to disengage, then move to the truck. It won't leave him enough maneuvers to open the door or get in.
"Piss off, old man!" Bosko hesitates just an instant before starting quickly toward the truck.
OOC:
Any one of you can go first, but looks like Hank was wanting to do something.
Mar 24, 2020 7:25 pm
"Ooo wrong thing to say." Max states trying to move out of Hank's way just incase he snaps.
Mar 24, 2020 7:53 pm
OOC:
Heck yes he does! Depicting the additional strain as a hard landing from the ramp. Also going for an opposed grapple, so just rolling the positive dice. If this is successful, I'll use 2 advantages to pin him, and then heal 2 strain because adrenaline. If it does NOT succeed, I'll give 2 boosts to my next ally and the opponent a setback by distracting him.
Hank vaults over the ramp railing, rolling his ankle and grunting as he lands. "Ow... dammit. Hey! You greazy chump, we just want to teach you some manners!" He sprints over to the man and grabs him, yanking him around to get between the man and the truck.
OOC:
GM Edit: Adding difficulty. Just PP.

Hank takes the little punk by surprise, grabbing Bosko's shirt and then getting ahold of both the guy's arms. "Hey! Lemme go, you maniac!"
OOC:
Hank is left with 2 advantage -- enough for a "pin" if you want: He can't make a move maneuver for 2 turns!
Mar 25, 2020 1:32 am
Hank keeps a tight grip on his arms and gives him a shake. "You're gonna stay right here, pal! We need to have a quick chat."
OOC:
Yep, I'll take the pin. Also, since this does damage like a normal unarmed attack, it'll do 5 strain, minus soak.

"That was pretty rude, Bosko. I'm sure you wouldn't mind talking for just a second to make it up to us for your behavior. What can you tell us about your friend Jimmy?"
Mar 25, 2020 12:24 pm
"Crowder currently has some people that aren't too happy with him. You can tell us where to find him or you can pay the debt and the dishonor which I can already tell you probably won't want to do. Your choice really, unless you want to try and lie to us to get away, then you're on the same list as Crowder, but then you're on our list of people to talk to as well again. You look to be a healthy young man with working limbs and probably vital organs still on in mostly decent shape yes?" Max states walking up and looking the guy over for weapons, keys, and his phone while lying through his teeth with what small time crime criminals don't like to deal with, pissed off bigger criminal entities.
Mar 25, 2020 12:40 pm
Marv steps to the group to complete the circle surrounding Bosko. He pulls out a cigarette and lights it, glaring at Bosko menacingly, Oooo boy, we look tough AF! He suppresses the grin boiling up inside him and keeps a menacing scowl so Bosko stays nice and scared.
Mar 25, 2020 12:49 pm
"Please don't smack him and break his neck this time to get him to talk...It didn't work last time and the man died." Max states turning to Marv actually serious.
Mar 25, 2020 2:27 pm
Marv's eyes get wide, "Hey, we don't know that's what did it." He's reassuring himself as much as Max, trying to balance his indignation and guilt with the utility of terrifying Bosko, "Breaking necks takes some serious strength, and I didn't hit him that hard. 'Til the autopsy report comes back I still think his goose was cooked 'fore I ever touched him."

Bosko reaches for his pocket but noticing everyone else staring at him, seems to think better of it. His right eye squints slightly as a light drizzle falls in his face. Instead, he puts his arm up to ward off any incoming blows.
OOC:
LOL. Technically it's his turn in the initiative order, but he sees the writing on the wall. Marv, Max, or Guy can give me a group Coercion check, Average (PP) difficultly. Two boosts for assistance (all the threatening dialogue), another boost for him being pinned.

Looks like Marv's your best Coercer, with GGG vs. PP, but adding in BBB.
Mar 25, 2020 3:22 pm
Marv gives him a little slap on the cheek, "Was 'bout hard as this, far as I can remember, chief. Though..." He rubs his chin for a second, "to be fair I was a quite bit more pissed off at the time, sometimes I lose some of the fine-tunin' when I'm pissed off. But I'm sure that's not anything Bosko wants to hear about," He stares Bosko in the eyes, "or see. So I'm positive he'll tell us every last thing he knows 'bout Jimmy. 'Specially where he's holin' up, and what he's been up to while he's ignoring his beautiful lady friend over there."
OOC:
Sweet googly-moogly. Is there a crit table for coercion? GODDAMN!

Rolls

Coercion

3 Success, 6 Advantage, 1 Threat

Total: 3 Success, 5 Advantage

Mar 25, 2020 6:41 pm
"OK, OK, OK!" Bosko screams, tears coming to his eyes. "I don't want no trouble! Alls I know is Jimmy's been holed up Big Ole Betty's bar for the past couple days. It's a place called the Man from Nantucket or some shit. Rumor is the guy's in a bad way. Depressed and all that. No idea why."
OOC:
What do you want to use the 5 advantage for? In a prolonged social encounter, you could use that to do extra strain damage to him, but in this case, it's probably better to use it for something else, like ancillary information not directly related to Grinning Jimmy, or some other boon you think makes sense. Maybe Bosko drives you there? :)
Mar 25, 2020 8:21 pm
"Aww, see? I told ya Bosko wanted to help out. I knew he would. I could see it in his eyes." He shoots a wink at Hank, still holding Bosko tight, then smiles at Max and Guy. "Y'know. I think I heard a rumor, though. I heard ol' Jimmy'd gotten all tangled up in something for a big payday, 'n I can't imagine he was holdin' out on his buddy Bosko, was he? Why don't you tell us the story while you take me 'n Guy here on a drive down to Big Ole Betty's? Gotta have some way to show Max 'n Hank the way, right?"
OOC:
I don't know if we can use it to find out Jimmy's desire/fear seeing as he isn't actually here but I think that's the sort of thing I'd be hoping to learn with so many adavantages. Does anybody else in the group have any other thoughts? As far as I'm concerned, this is the group's to spend since we all got ourselves in the position to make the roll together because this group is jiving straight off the bat!
Mar 25, 2020 8:37 pm
OOC:
The way I run it is that the number of Successes determines how much information you get on your main subject (Jimmy), while advantages are for related information. In that reading, you couldn't get Jimmy's motivations, but could get more information about Bosko's role in the organization and how it's changed since Jimmy got "depressed," for instance. I'd say to have him drive you is going to take at least 4 of the 5, though, only leaving you with one scrap of related info if you go that route.
Mar 25, 2020 11:53 pm
OOC:
I'd say having Bosko drive us is worth it, because then we know he won't be calling ahead to warn Jimmy. As far as additional info, a bit more tangential info on the Hounds and Bosko's role is pretty good as well.

When this is resolved one way or another, I'll have a Resilience roll to recover strain, right?
Mar 26, 2020 12:08 pm
Max pats down the restrain young man to look for a phone.
Mar 26, 2020 2:05 pm
OOC:
Max can pat him down with an Average Perception check upgraded once: (RP). One boost from him being restrained, but no other aid is possible.
"What the hell, man!" Bosko wriggles to free himself from Hank's grasp as Max starts patting him down. "Who the hell are you assholes? Look, I don't know nothing 'bout no payday—I'm just a neighborhood... uh... distributor... of Jimmy's... uh... goods. But if you wanna all pile into my pickup, we can drive over to the Nantucket." Thunder rumbles in the distance. "Looks like rain, though."
Mar 26, 2020 5:38 pm
"Aw, cool your jets, Bosko. He'll leave the family jewels in place. Tell you what... how about you and me ride together, since we're basically best friends by now. And the gang can follow in Mildred over there to make sure we don't get lost along the way. How's that sound?"
