Guy's not on the roof. He's in an office just off the hallway leading to the side-door entrance.

OOC:
Guy's not on the roof. He's in an office just off the hallway leading to the side-door entrance.
OOC:
Got it. Thanks for the clarification. So unless Guy comes out, we'll hang tight for Hank's and Max's approach to these two lugs.
Jun 11, 2020 1:17 am
Hank closes the door behind them after the men enter. "Uh, hey guys. Gym's closed for the night, but I suppose my pal already filled you in on that. What can we do ya for?"
OOC:
Hank doesn't have much of a plan, but he's going to hang out and talk friendly so they're not fully focused on their search, at least. I figure no point in stalling them because Petrovich probably won't come in if they don't give the OK. But happy to play along if someone else has a better plan.
Jun 11, 2020 2:07 am
"Mr. Petrovich is wanting to know your people will be peaceful," says one of the men, taking in the room half-heartedly.
OOC:
Y'all can try either Charm or Deception to try to keep them focused on you instead of their search:

If Hank and Max work together, Charm is GGB x PP+KK. Deception is GGGB x RP+KK. The setbacks are for the fact that their mission is to look over and make sure things are hunky-dory, so they'd have to shirk that.
Jun 11, 2020 11:55 am
"Oh, sure. We just want this thing over, to be honest. If your boss wants to stop by and talk, that sounds a hell of a lot easier than looking over our shoulders all the time. No need for anything but peaceful, if you ask me. Right, pal?" Hank looks to Max for affirmation, hoping that Jimmy doesn't get scared and blow the operation.
OOC:
Going for deception, hopefully with Max's help. Hank's pretty sure this won't be peaceful.
Jun 11, 2020 2:15 pm
OOC:
Sounds good. One of you roll it up!
Jun 15, 2020 6:19 pm
OOC:
I was hanging back for Max to jump in... In the interest of moving forward should I just roll and assume he'd help? I can do so after I'm off work if nothing else.
Jun 16, 2020 2:51 am
OOC:
Yeah, just go ahead and roll it!
Jun 16, 2020 11:37 am
"Yep, just tryin' to get back to normal, know what I mean? Ready to just get up, go to work, eat some lo mein and go to bed. Say, you guys go to that cop bar on 16th Street? Mack Oliver's? I've always thought it looked like a cool place, but felt weird about going without a badge."

Rolls

Deception

1 Success, 3 Advantage, 1 Failure, 3 Threat

OOC:
Lol is that a completely neutral roll??
Jun 16, 2020 12:55 pm
Hank keeps prattling on, forcing himself to sound calm as the men's eyes begin to search for weapons.
OOC:
What can I say? Hank is a wonder of the world. He makes absolutely no mark on those around him.
Jun 17, 2020 1:27 am
OOC:
LOL. Yep, total wash on that roll. :) I think it's still worth a setback on their search at the very least.
The two men nod but mostly ignore Hank's prattling. "We must look over place to make sure no nasty surprise." They split up, one heading for the office area and back door, the other for the gym proper.
OOC:
So, they have to roll versus RPP+K to notice your traps. I'll flip two SPs to give them a fighting chance. I'll have them roll separately for each (the door and the weights). Y'all want to upgrade one of those with a SP?

OOC:
Uh, are those dice blank to anyone else? Lol. Also, I'm hiding in the back office near the side entrance. Should I roll Stealth or anything if they head that way?

OOC:
Either that's the most 1 in a zillion 3 all blank rolls or Gamersplane is bugged!
Jun 17, 2020 2:07 pm
OOC:
LOL. No, should have explained: I rolled the checks both with and without a SP flip. I'm leaving it to you whether you spend the SP, and then I'll reveal the results. :)

As for Stealth -- not yet. Depending on the results, they may want to do a more thorough search. But for now, they're just concerned about the room with the traps in it (the main gym).

So for now: Y'all using a SP or no?
Jun 17, 2020 3:36 pm
OOC:
Ah! Sneaky! I'd vote we use one on the weights. I'm sure we'll have plenty of cause to use SP's during the upcoming confrontation, but SavageBob is good about keeping them flowing from the GM side too.
Jun 17, 2020 3:57 pm
OOC:
I think it'd be reasonable to use 1 (or even 2) on the traps to upgrade difficulty and agree the weights are priority 1
Jun 18, 2020 12:17 am
OOC:
So, I can't figure out how to reveal the contents of a hidden roll, but I'll say that the one you upgraded did the trick and made them miss the weight trap. There was one threat remaining, so I'll make that a black. If you're upgrading the other one, too, I'll have to roll that now. Incoming...

Rolls

Perception versus traps

3 Success, 4 Threat

Total: 3 Success, 4 Threat

setback

1 Failure

Total: 1 Failure

The men scan the gymnasium carefully, but luckily neither one thinks to look up toward the ceiling. They miss Hank's weight trap completely. But as they near the office, one of them says something to the other in a Slavic language. They both look up at the frame over the back door, noticing the precariously perched bucket there.
OOC:
So, the other roll - 4 threat is a lot! What do y'all want to happen? They accidentally spring the trap? Something else?
