Lin stole it from his smuggler boss, yes. But presumably Lin was just nabbed by bounty hunters for that. Seems weird to not also take the ship.

who says they didn't? maybe one of the bounty hunters was the rightful owner of the ship and she needs to resupply bvefore taking it back

Im trying to remember if Lin stoled the ship but then sold it to buy the FTY. If so maybe he bought a hot ship that belonged to her?

IIRC: I thought he bailed on a job and took the ship from the guy he thought was in charge (Leader of the crew/gang or captain forget which) and dumped him out at the port before flying off world. Totz fell asleep working on the ship and realized it was in space and not where it was suppose to be. You pulled on him and said hello. You two hit it off for the most part and have been together ever since (I figure the bounty on him was due to not leaving his two week notice letter and taking the ship).

Yeah that is all pretty true, but i thought he would have sold the ship to get a new used ship. It would all be in the characters creation but i just don't feel like reading it all. :-)
