hell, the guy probably gets angry because he thinks someone sent their slave out to negotiate with him.
May 16, 2016 3:35 pm
These are just the hazards of the job. Should I come out before they think you're an escaped slave and they taser you?
May 16, 2016 3:37 pm
jesus, I didn't get a despair... actually, fal said that it was daunting to negotiate, not charm. I'm hoping he knocks a purple die off my roll...

Daunting is four purple though... Also compliment his jacket!

I'll wait to update when i get home tonight to see if I can get some perspective on charm. Otherwise we can go with the roll and move along the narrative (it won't be a travesty, 1 fail 1 threat is no big deal... if it had been 3 threat or 5 fail or something, that's another story).
May 16, 2016 7:21 pm
I was just going for having them be off their guard or be favorably disposed to me. guess the guy just doesn't trust too easily

it'd be fair to say that an employee of the Hutt Cartels likely sees his fair share of people trying to get into his good graces. It'd be a tough sell.
May 16, 2016 7:23 pm
I can live with that. are there rules for aiding another character? I could help negotiate too

Phew, that's a lot of threats. Don't suppose you'll let me take it all as strain and not hit us with the expected awful narrative blowback?
Oh, no no no. Narrative blowback it shall be. The dice have spoken!

(Mala if you want you can add a boost die unless you have a better skill at negotiation or better presence - at which point we'd use your higher skill or attribute to set the dice). looking at it, you could add a green die to Lin's roll if you wanna do that. I'll let you narrate something and toss the die into the pool and we'll see what happens.

will do, let me think of something

YOU ARE FUCKING WELCOME

With all those threat if converted to strain i could see Lin tripping down the hatch, falling over the crates, tripping face first on the dockmasters feet. Getting up to fast straining his knees and back, brushes off and then gives his speech.

Mental note, take Lin my hands by the side of his head and neck, Sink teeth into said head and lock down with extreme passive aggressive rage.

hopefully I talked him out of selling you into slavery

...biting is the opposite of passive aggressive: Its just plain aggressive.

Living flesh is best with mint jelly...

oh, boo! now down to three threat!

i'll consider something less blowbacky... time to mull it over.
May 16, 2016 8:18 pm
in the noghri culture, biting someone's skull IS passive aggressive

Also the GM can't kill us if he's laughing too hard at us that he can't see straight.
