Malingad moves as a shadow and quickly as the dagger and hatchet are a blur.
OOC:
Using Hatchet to attack and Dagger for reactions.

Rolls

After Malingad's turn finishes Herradine attacks the rat right in front of her.

Rolls

Close Combat 57 - (1D100)

(43) = 43

Damage if Hit - (1D8, 1D4)

1D8 : (3) = 3

1D4 : (4) = 4

Since this rat is different than the one which tried to dodge Liroc's sword, it will use its reaction to try and doge Malingad's hatchet. it succeed in jumping away from Malingad's hatchet (the good news is that it has no reaction left this round).

Herradine misses with her attack as well. Nunri is up (and after that, those who were making a second attack with their off-hands, and IIRC, Liroc had already missed wit his shield bash).

Rolls

giant rat's dodge 43% - (1d100)

(19) = 19

Jun 3, 2020 4:35 pm
Nunri pulls her hammer back and cursing at the giant bite on her leg, pounds away at the next rat in front of her (blue border).

Rolls

Close Combat great hammer 56 - (1d100, 2d8)

1d100 : (21) = 21

2d8 : (22) = 4

Cassi will fire on another rat. Wild arrow. Coring is at her side still.

Rolls

attack DC(70 - Lighting), damage (Shortbow) - (1d100, 1d8)

1d100 : (99) = 99

1d8 : (3) = 3

Jun 3, 2020 5:46 pm
That rat hasn't dodged yet, so it will try a dodge.
OOC:
@ Cassi: sorry, you have only 1 attack per round.
WTF... Okay, that rat crit dodged... Nunri whiffs as the rat deftly to one side... For a moment, Nunri feels the rat is mocking her... but it's just a stupid giant rat, right? Surely it can't be mocking her...

Rolls

giant rat's dodge 43% - (1d100)

(1) = 1

OOC:
I was doing that for next round as it is coming soon. And it will be a bummer round too! and I missed the stupid rat.

OOC:
Malingad, did you had a second attack to do with your dagger?
Jun 5, 2020 2:47 am
OOC:
No, I wanted to save it for a Reaction if necessary. I used the full Close Combat skill instead of the -25 to each attack. That would have put my attack above at 23%. So, no second attack.

OOC:
Okay then.
Third Round of Combat

Current Initiative:
Cassi 16
Coring (pet) 13 (roll 10 for tie-breaker)
Liroc 13 (roll 6 tie-breaker)
Giant Rats 13 (roll 4 tie-breaker)
Malingad 13 (roll 1 for tie-breaker)
Novyn 12 (INT 15 for spells) (temporarily unavailable).
Herradine 8
Nunri 8

Combat Map

Conditions: Thanks to light shining in from the streets above through various grates, this section of the sewers is in Partial Darkness (-25% to vision-based Perception tests, -25% to attack rolls). Liroc and Cassi are carrying the party's sources of light, illuminating the sewers in a 3 meters radius for human characters. Malingad and Nunri both treat Partial Darkness as Illuminated (see rulebook p.31 and p.56). Two giant rats are dead, another one has taken 1 point of damage.

Cassi shot and missed, Coring is still heeling, Liroc is up!
Jun 5, 2020 3:33 am
Liroc will press his offensive to assist Malingrad and he start slashing more wildly at the rats with his sword.
OOC:
All out attack for 2 attacks at -25% at this init. Keeping the shield action for a parry later.
Edit: If the rat dies, Liroc will advance to the edge of the water.
OOC:
Add: Is the difference between the sidewalk and the water enough to give the higher ground 25% bonus? If so the first attack would have hit also.

Rolls

1st attack 47% - (1d100)

(70) = 70

2nd attack 47% - (1d100)

(11) = 11

2nd attack dmg - (1d8, 1d4)

1d8 : (3) = 3

1d4 : (3) = 3

1st attack dmg - (1d8, 1d4)

1d8 : (7) = 7

1d4 : (4) = 4

OOC:
You're about 6 in./15 cm above the rat. not enough to gain the high-ground bonus sadly.
the rat will attempt to dodge Liroc's shield bash... and fails! this rat fails its Resilience chack, falls unconscious, and suffers a major wound!
OOC:
That Major Wound doesn't make sense, I'll re-roll it...
Broken ribs! -50% to all skills due to severe pain!

Giant rats' turns now... Having lost half their numbers, and one of the remaining ones grazed, the rats will think better than attack the party and quickly scurry through narrow drain grates. Seeing the "prey" run away, Coring's instincts take over, and Coring runs to the nearest grate trying to catch a rat, but when he notices that unlike the rats, he can't fit through the grates, he simply barks and snaps, as if warning the rats to not attack the party again...

Combat is over!

Rolls

giant rat's dodge 43% - (1d100)

(85) = 85

Giant rat's major wound - (1d10)

(6) = 6

reroll giant rat's Major Wound - (1d10)

(5) = 5

"Well, we know that those grate aren't safe. Everybody all right?

Is there a way to know if something other than those rats passed through there?
Jun 5, 2020 7:37 pm
"We have no choice to but to continue back the way we came. If anyone has a Healing kit we can patch up before we round the corner to the north."
Jun 5, 2020 10:42 pm
Cassi picks up her lantern and calls Coring back to her. She walks to the end to take look about it keeping the rat escape passage in mind.

Malingad is ready with both hatchets.
Jun 6, 2020 4:54 pm
Cassi will notice that those small side pipes seem to connect to other sections of the sewer as well as to some sort grate or drain on street level. Those seem to basically be small collection pipes. There is no sign of the giant rats. Who knows where they went to...
Jun 6, 2020 7:01 pm
"If it's one thing I've figured is rats is intelligent. They'll not bother us a nonce, for we're no easy prey. Let us move on then..."
Jun 6, 2020 7:58 pm
"When I write the song about our heroic deeds, I'm going to leave out the part where I almost got my leg bitten off by a damn rat," Herradine says in an almost cheer voice. "Lead the way. I'm following."
As they continue walking, she lightly leans on her spear with every step.

"Hahaha! You can make it a bear or something, that would be better for our reputation!

I agree, if there is no sign of anything else than rats here, we should move on. Should we get up for some decent bandages before we explore the northern tunnels?"

Liroc finishes the still breathing rats and cleans the blood on his sword before sheathing it. Then, he pick up his torch again, ready to move out.
