The kobolds look confused and angry at each other. Then a couple of them nervously nudges the one in the middle a little forward, officially electing him the spokesman of the group. He responds to Kirsk in draconian and judging by his demeanour Octavia and Zachary can both see that he’s not responding in a friendly fashion.

Kirsk’s warhammer connects with the temple of the speaking kobold with a sickening crunch and it falls dead to the ground. The six remaining kobolds shriek in a mixture of anger and terror. They instantly spring forward and attack, 4 against Kirsk who they seem to think is the bigger threat and 2 against Linan

Before she has a chance to react, Linan gets jumped by 2 kobolds who stab their daggers into each side of her chest. She lets out a small noise that is immediately drowned out by a guttural scream from her husband. The 4 other kobolds try to attack Kirsk, and while he manages to fight off two of them, the other two manages to stab him under his armour.

OOC:

It is now the other three players’ turn to act in whichever order.

EDIT: Linan can not catch a break right now 😅

Yeah the kobold thing is nasty

Talking to the kobold went as well as Octavia had expected. Before she could react Linan was down, and Kirsk injured. She finsihes the distance to Linan, dropping her spear to clutch at her holy symbol as she whispers a prayer. 'Keep the Forgeheart burning. Releasing her symbol she touches her now free hand to the woman, letting energy flow into her. While it would heal her, it would stop her condition getting any worse for now.

OOC:

Spare the dying, Linan is hopefully stabilised.

Zachary holds his book by the spine, and swings hard in the direction of the first kobold that attacked Krisk, producing a slight draft.

Muttering an incantation, Zachary exclaims:

Feel the cold blow of contempt!

The young magician does not finish reciting his phrase when the air current becomes icy.

Kel's face falls into a focused glare, as she leaps past Octavia towards the two kobolds. She slices at one of them with precision, and, with startling speed, hits the other with an elbow strike.

This is how you all started. Octavia, you can close the distance but must take opportunity attacks from 3, the 2 next to Linan and one kobold who you’d run past. I’ll allow Zachary’s and Kel’s attacks to hit first on kobolds close to you, but whoever might be standing still gets an attack. You up for it? Kirsk’s attack will be the first of round 2. Kel, you can roll damage on one short sword and one unarmed strike...also what the fuck at 4 attacks on level one 😅 fucking monks

I only had 2 attacks, one short-sword attack, and an unarmed strike. I roll the damage at the same time I roll the attack. Both got a 3 for damage.

Zachary’s frostbite hits a kobold next to Kirsk, it howls in pain and misses Octavia as she runs past. Unfortunately for her the two kobolds who just felled poor Linan, swivel around and both stabs into her before she can reach the bleeding farm lady. Octavia falls to the ground. Kel is there to act sweet revenge though as she slashes deep into one of the kobold’s shoulder and swiftly plants an elbow into the orbital bone of the other. Kirsk swings his hammer around again and connects with the kobold with frostbite, caving in it’s skull.

Jesus...well down to 5, and really counting on avoiding a TPK in my first battle as a DM 😅
