OOC:
New round's actions.
"Get to where you need to be once that lad's out take your time focus and kill it." Tronus states clearly, "Get behind me Burning Boy and get your arm in the mud!" he adds since the lad seems to not like a burning fist.
OOC:
Using Field Commander three people can make a maneuver out of turn so it doesn't count towards the 2 cap on your turn and next PC get's an additional boost or 2 if you pulled one of my Inspiring Rhetorical targets.

OOC:
Holding Tronus's second action for now, as Acorn and the hog still need to go.

Acorn will heal 1 strain for the advantage.
Acorn desperately tries to calm her brother and get him on the ground. The fire on his tunic seems to be spreading as the younger Elf pulls him down toward the earth and grass, but the boy's panic is too much for her to overcome.

But Vern Taldaris doesn't seem to be the only one on fire... The grease on the hog catches, and the thing goes up like a torch! The hog screams as flames lick across its bristles and it sheds spiders like drops of sweat. The creature stumbles and tries to leap the fence... Its stubby legs can't seem to get enough height, but in its frenzy, the creature does wedge itself through the railings, and begins to wiggle itself free. In a few moments, it may run off for the trees...

As Tronus tries to gain control over the chaos, Nera, Bruv, and Hildar prepare to act.
OOC:
So it failed its Athletics check, but the 2 advantage let it move past the fence the hard way (with its free maneuver, and a second free maneuver for the 2 advantage).
OOC:
Nera, Bruv, and Hildar are up! Tronus's Field Commander gives you each a free maneuver (in addition to the 2 you can normally take). Also note the strain he healed for 2 people last round. Maybe Bruv and Nekurr should take it? 2 for one, 1 for the other.

OOC:
"free out-of-turn maneuver for 3 PCs" includes cats?
Nekurr panics as he notices Vern on fire and the firehog goes crazy, breaking the fence in a last desperate push to escape this nightmare. In the chaos, Tronus words hit him as magic, forcing his body into action before he realises what was said, an instinctual obedience to the dwarven cold-headed authority. Nekurr jumps, trips on the fence and falls on Verne, like a blanket smothering the burning flames.
OOC:
move to help is a maneuver right?
Jul 7, 2020 8:51 am
Hildar moves shakily towards the hog and levels his wand but finds himself struggling to gather his thoughts enough to channel the proper magical energies into an attack.
OOC:
Hildar is fine not getting any Strain back currently. Ok, not too sure what range we're at but going to assume Hildar can use the manoeuvres to shift to Short Range and is going to cast an Attack spell (base 1 x P) with the Fire (+1P) and Impact (+1P) additional effects

So Difficulty is 3 x Difficulty and 1 x Setback for an attack at Short Range, Damage 4, Crit -, Burn 2, Disorient and Knockdown 2

Will use the Advantage to recover a point of Strain (was on 3 before casting, now on 4 total)

There's also Inspiring Rhetoric so if Hilder wanted 2 strain back and a boost die for the next 2 rounds that's open. Then two other PCs can heal one strain and get a boost die to checks for the next two rounds btw.

OOC:
Thanks, I'll leave the 2 strain for someone else and take one Strain back plus the boost (rolled above) so Hildar's Strain is back down to 3

OOC:
Also since you're the next PC after me another boost from my advantage... I have a cup of coffee I just haven't started drinking it...

OOC:
Right, so I included that as well which would take me to 1 Success and 2 Advantage which would stack up to 5 damage and I'll trigger the Burn (2) quality with the advantages (Strain would be back up to 4)
Jul 7, 2020 8:22 pm
OOC:
CESN, yeah, it's a maneuver to offer assistance to another, provided that assistance means you're helping them with some action of their own. As it is, Hildar's shot was the last blow, so we can just narrate you putting Vern out.
Tongues of fire shoot forth from Hildar's wand and engulf the hog. The creature stumbles to its knees, then falls to its side in the dust. Flaming spiders spill out from carcass, but the flames claim them, as well. The fire continue to roast the carcass from the inside out.

Nekurr and Acorn are able to put Vern Taldaris out. The healer, Eswyse, leaps the fence without hesitation and gets a look at the boy. "Now, now, young man. Doesn't look too bad there. They put you out before the flames could do much damage." The Gnome begins patching up the boy's arm where the hog's jaws had it briefly.
OOC:
End of combat. All can make a strain recovery roll (Discipline or Cool). Bit more to come.

The mayor jogs back over to the pen from the side stage, where he'd corralled the rest of the festival-goers. "What in the name of Nature's Lady happened? Is everyone all right?"
Jul 7, 2020 8:35 pm
"I'm not a pig farmer or someone that wrestles greased livestock but your greased pig for the festival tried to eat one of your villagers and had spiders crawling out of its body, possibly controlling it in a parasitic nature... Personally I think a normal greased pig would be a sufficient level of difficulty versus something like this which is more horrific and slightly perceived as unholy if you don't really care for spiders I guess." Tronus comments shaking his head once.
Jul 7, 2020 8:54 pm
OOC:
Does the mayor seem surprised by what happened at all?

It does seem he's both surprised and upset. If you want to try to tell if that's legitimate or a façade, you'd need to try a Vigilance check versus his Cunning: RRRP+2 setbacks for motivational stuff.

Bruv takes a moment to gather himself, then clambers out of the pen...

"Who's 'og was 'at, mayor? ... You looked pretty upset at someone specific when it's skin burst open...

Moight Oi recommend gettin' a priest of da Nature's Lady to bless dat beast before da wrasslin' next toime...
"

Bruv probes not particularly delicately, yet directing his apparent attention to be over the owner of the hog, but having a suspicion that a "blessing" was specifically the problem...

Rolls

"You'll have to accept our humblest apologies," the mayor says to the lot of you. "Nothing like this has ever happened before. The blessings of Nature's Lady should protect us from... whatever this was." He turns to Bruv and adds, "A different family provides the hog each year. This year it was from our weaver's shop." He looks out over the crowd. "Anybody seen Anzila? She all right?"
Jul 8, 2020 2:49 am
The woman steps forward. "I am here, Mayor Wayland. And I am as surprised as you are."
Jul 8, 2020 9:58 am
OOC:
cooling down. I'll probably focus on the woman's lies first since she's the one that had the hog
Nekurr stands up and helps the brothers to not burn. "You alright?" he asks as Erfan comes running to check on Vern. Reassured by the gnome, the cleric focus on the conversation that started around the hog's spidery nature. The half-catfolk is surprised to find that everyone is surprised at this surprising turn of events.

CESN, remember that Triumph = 1 success, as well, so you get 3 strain back. You can cash that Triumph in for another benefit if you wish, too. Maybe +4 strain on top of that? Or give your nearest ally +2 strain on top of their roll? (In this case, Bruv).

Anzila's Decpetion skills is RRR. Rolling that now vs. Nekurr's Vigilance check above. Final result is 3 Success, 3 Threat.
