Now that you all have a source of light you can see more clearly. The bridge to the north is actually about twenty or so feet above you connecting two passageways that run perpendicular to the one you're in, but twenty feet in the air. Otherwise your options from the ground are a path to the left across the stream that climbs up, or the path going north, under the bridge and veers up and to the right.

"Klarg is most likely up north and to the right, past the bridge. Bug, want to scout out that part? I can check the tunnel to the right of us, and meet back here in a few minutes?
Nov 25, 2020 7:12 pm
"Osvaldo? Do you mean to the left, across the stream? I think we should stay together and follow Bug."

Severus trots to catch up with his new, fleet-footed, friend on the path rising north and to the right.
Nov 27, 2020 5:51 pm
OOC:
Bug? Are you heading north?
Nov 28, 2020 1:29 pm
Nodding his agreement, Bug turns his attention north. Crouching low, he presses himself close against the wall on his right and slowly starts making his way further up the tunnel as quietly as possible.
OOC:
Sorry for the late response, it has been a pretty crazy week here, but I should be better going forward.

No worries. I've noticed this game clips along at a slower pace that the 1 post/day guideline it started with. I assume everyone else has stuff going in thier personal lives that has to be sorted out before D&D games.

The party decides to ignore the passage heading to the left to continue north. The stream passage continues up beyond another set of uneven steps ahead, bending eastward as it goes. A waterfall sounds out from a larger cavern somewhere ahead of you. In the shadows of the ceiling to the north, you can just make out the dim shape of a rickety bridge of wood and rope crossing over the passage ahead of you. Another passage intersects this one, twenty feet above the floor.
As soon as the first of your party is nearly under the bridge you suddenly hear a harsh, gutteral barking command you know to be Ghukliak, the language spoken by goblinoid races, issued from above, where you now see a solitary goblin, once hidden in the shadows of the bridge, now standing before you with a number of javelins in hand. He appears to be shouting a command in Goblin to someone further down the north passage.
OOC:
Round 1 begins with a javelin-weilding goblin above.
Turn order is as follows:
-->1. Bug (Undamaged with 10HP)
2. Osvaldo (Undamaged with 17HP)
3. Severus(Moderately wounded with 14HP)
4. Goblin

Seeing Bug play it carefully and hold back from going further down the tunnel, Osvaldo does the same. He'll take Bug's lead for now, trusting that their new companion know what he's doing. He places the torch down next to him and pulls out his other short sword, both at the ready, waiting to spill goblin blood.

Ignoring the goblin on the bridge directly above, Osvaldo switches from bow to sword and waits for a goblin attack from the north passage with Bug.

Severus throws his javelin up at the goblin which hits the attacker square in the chest. The goblin utters a strangled yelp and tips over the rail, crashing to the path at Severus's feet. It's legs dangle in the stream running to the cave mouth behind you.
As Bug and Osvaldo watch for more goblins advancing ahead there comes a commotion, sounding nothing like the clamor of attacking goblins that was expected. The passage is suddenly filled with a mighty roar, as a huge surge of rushing water pours down from above!

OOC:
That's alright. I don't know why I put the turn order up even, to be honest.

Bug's attention is momentarily pulled from the path to the north as the goblin falls, but quickly swings his head back around as the rushing of the water fills the tunnel. Hearing Severus call out, Bug immediately springs out of his crouched position and moves to follow behind.

Hearing the roar of water rushing towards them, Severus and Osvaldo leap for the unoccupied chamber to the left and climb up the sloping incline of the tunnel to get to higher ground. Bug tries to follow suit but stumbles on the leap across the stream landing in the water, but just as the whitewater floods into him his right hand finds purchase on a rock.

OOC:
@kwil: A successful Athletics (Strength) roll will allow you to hold onto the rock as the water rushes past you. Or you can let go and see where this ride takes you.

Severus darts towards Bug and offers him his arm - "Grab hold of me.."
