Query: does the game actually allow that? I'm not seeing it in the rules, only that polearms are two handed and heavy.

Yeah, that's a good point @cowleyc. It looks like to doesn't give you any additional range to attacks. Basically just has the brace property.

I wonder if there's an optional rule tucked away in one of the other, higher level books. I'm away from my computer so I can't check, but it also doesn't matter anymore... Not for a while.

Yeah, Eltrezar has been blundering this whole thing up. I don't think he's rolled over a 9 or 10 on an attack this encounter. That's definitely who I would put the blame on if this goes badly.

Maybe if our WIZARD would throw a FIREBALL...

Maybe if our Dungeon Master would give us real XP...

You best believe Eltrezar is stocking up on holy water and probably a few other options.

Listen, I would love to give you all XP. The Rules as Written just don't let me. That's Tom Moldvay's fault. That's not funfungiguy's fault. Tom Moldvay is the reason Eltrezar is throwing unbalanced daggers at everything made of stone intead of anything squishy. Not the DM...

Look, it's an old Moathouse. Eltrezar could aim at the ghouls and do some minor damage. But what is a dagger if not a wedge of sorts? The wizard is going for the walls intentionally, all to crush the ghouls in one fell swoop.

That's exactly what I was about to say when everyone was accusing Eltrezar of being a shit wizard. He actually did a meaningful Magic Missile on one of the stronger Ghouls.

But then shit wizard blamed the DM for the fact he cant even throw the equivalent of a hot dog down a hallway, and I passed the buck to Moldvay.

I think we just all need to cool down. There's a lot of finger pointing going on, and we're losing track of the fact that this is Eltrezar's fault and he turned some of us against each other.
