I just realized Eltrezar bailed on everyone and took the light with him so that @cowleyc can go camping without interruption. Surely if everyone can just hold out until Monday the wizard will come back with the light, kicking camping snow off his boots, complaining about the shitty weather he had to deal with, as usual.
Actually, it'll be my partner's first time winter camping. If anyone comes back griping about the weather...
But I was actually going to say that if the game somehow speeds through the weekend, Eltrezar will be chilling at the ladder for a few rounds unless he hears evidence his party is dead, or desperately needs help AT the ladder.
Perhaps the DM could play out the next few rounds using the most common sense approach from Gilly?
A) She wont abandon her friends.
B) She won’t needlessly alert ghouls.
C) She won’t risk it for the hired help.
D) All her actions will be to serve the purpose of up-ing her allies. Be that moving forward, popping potions etc.
Actually, there was a huge storm warning for where I was planning on going and tons of rain in my back up, so it was just snowshoeing in a third place. One day I'll be able to camp again...
Sorry I didn't get anything posted yesterday or the day before.
Tournament went really long on Saturday and we didn't get done until pretty late in the evening, and then yesterday morning my wife was having brunch with our best friends when their home alert warning said there was a fire at the house. Buy the time we got to the house the entire basement was gutted, so we've been getting that sorted out.
cowleyc's correct. Not our house. My best friend and my wife's best friend are married. Their son is one of my daughter's best friends, and their daughter is one of our son's best friends. We almost decided to sell our homes and buy one big house together a few years back since we basically raise each other's kids and do everything together.
So basically, there was just a lot of stuff to start taking care of so a electrician and plumber could come in. A restoration company to deal with. Insurance appraiser. We had to get them moved into a hotel for now. Just a bunch of crap...
I was about to say 'Wait a minute, didn't Eltrezar give Mal more potions, Detect Danger this time?' Well, he hadn't. Eltrezar was apparently hoarding the potions that would have helped out here. Oops.
For what it's worth, everyone, I think that Eltrezar bailing right now just really put a huge burden on a lot of PCs and NPCs, but just also opened a huge boon on character development and storytelling.
