He refuses to talk about the matter. No matter how hard you try, you just can't get past his suspicion that there's a chance you work for "her". But he will give you directions to her castle.
Micel says you might be able to buy a horse or two of you ask around, maybe farmer Haliscu. But people have been hoarding guns and are unlikely to part with them for any reasonable price.
After dinner, the evening is growing dark, but you go for a walk to the neighbors farm. He does have horses. He'll sell you them, for £3 each (or the local equivalent), plus £0.75 for a saddle, bridle, and reins.
The horses seem like they're in good condition, and he assures you they're saddle trained.
