Chapter 1 - Goblin Arrows

That wasn't so bad! I've got this adventurer thing licked!
Gerbo looks around at what everyone else is doing and shakes his head, wondering why no one has thought yet to check the goblins pockets.
Walking first to the archer he shot, he looks at the arrow to determine if it's worth keeping. Deciding it's not worth it, he moves on to the goblin's arrows. This is shoddy work, but potentially usable? Gerbo wonders to himself.
OOC:
Are any arrows on the goblin archer usable for my shortbow?
Throwing a quick look over his shoulder at the rest of the party and then into the treeline, he digs around in the goblin's clothes to see if there is anything worth keeping.
OOC:
Not sure if you want a roll for this. Feel free to roll something for me if necessary.
Following his journey through the goblin's belongings, he heads back over to the others. "Mean little buggers, aren't they? Would you believe a bartender mistook me for a goblin once? I told him my green complexion was just bad fish, but he threw me out all the same." he said to no one in particular. Looking up at Tyr, he snarks, "What happened to you, hot stuff? Figured you'd let us mortals do all the dirty work?

The sleeping goblins are easily bound with rope, the smaller of the two muttering in its sleep but otherwise unaffected by the process. The larger of the two is obviously awakened while being tied up but tries its best to convince you otherwise, even throwing in some unconvincing snoring noises while peeking through its narrowly open eyes.

The first thing that Gerbo notices while approaching the fallen archer is the gods awful smell; far more of an assault on the rogue than any of the creature’s arrows were. After a thorough and nauseating search turns up mostly half eaten food and other rotting organic matter, Gerbo hits the jAcKpOt and is able to pocket two silver and six copper pieces. Of the arrows still left in the quiver most are not worth the trouble of collecting, but seven of them seem to be of decent enough build to use.

Poking his head up from between crates in the back of the wagon Tyr cautiously takes in the situation. Once he has assured himself that he is no longer in any danger he stands up tall and puffs out his chest. "You guys will need me for the big stuff! Figured you lot could handle these little things without my help." He says confidently in response to Gerbo’s query.

OOC:
Goblin A is bound and still asleep.
Goblin B is bound and doing a poor job of convincing everyone that it's still asleep.

We're out of combat at this point, so feel free to post in any order, have conversations with each other, etc...

"Smooth," Belanor says in response to Tyr.
Dec 29, 2020 8:59 pm
Kerisha smacks herself across the face a couple of times to freshen herself up. Realising the larger goblin is awake, she wants to finish what they had started, but information is more valuable than the prize of a goblin head….for now.

She points her sword at the throat of the larger goblin. "Wheke sep human el dwarf?"

She presses her blade slightly into the flesh of the goblin to "encourage" an answer

Unschooled in the art of obvious sarcasm, Tyr nods affirmatively towards Belanor as he takes his place on the driver’s board of the wagon.
Feeling the sharpness of Kerisha’s blade against its throat, the goblin gives up the illusion of sleep. Meeting the half-orc’s gaze with its own it manages a slight smirk before looking away.

"Dwarf and man captured by mighty Cragmaw goblins. Klarg send dwarf away. Keep man at cave." it sputters in broken common directly at Orel, ignoring Kerisha entirely. "Let Glart live, Glart take you to man."

The goblin returns its focus to Kerisha, its eyes tracing a path from the tip of her blade to her face and mutters something to her in its native tongue.

She prefers to let her blade do the talking and this is why. Orel has seen this look in Kerisha’s eye before. He knows what’s coming next. There is about to be a headless goblin unless someone stops her.
Dec 29, 2020 11:22 pm
Grim walks next to Kerisha and says to her Let me handle this as he cracks his knuckles. Tell us where the dwarf is, or you will die where you stand. Grim commands the goblin. He then picks a tree that is within the goblins sight and let's loose an eldric blast. Want to find out what happens when hit point blank?

Eldric Blast Hit - tree - (1d20+6)

(16) + 6 = 22

Eldric Blast - Damage - tree - (1d10)

Intimidation check - (1d20+6)

(5) + 6 = 11

Apparently unimpressed with Grim’s brutal attack on an innocent tree Glart merely repeats what was said before, this time a bit slower and with what sounds like a bit of attitude to its grunted words.

"Klarg. Send. Dwarf. Away."

Goblin A is bound and still asleep.
Goblin B (Glart) is bound and being questioned.

Well this one doesn't seem to want to talk Grim says to the group How about we kill this one and try again with the other one still sleeping?
Dec 30, 2020 4:58 am
"Poor bastards they are, I found a little something on that one." Gerbo quipped as he sauntered back to the group. He flicks a copper to Grim, Kerisha, Orel, and Belanor, then pretended to flick one to Tyr. "Good, then I'll keep your share."

"Killing defenseless prisoners. Very classy. Could just cut a limb off to hamper his banditry and send him on his way."

Turning to the goblin, he asked, while picking some dirt from his fingernails with his dagger. "Which do you prefer? Hand or leg? Maybe...you'd prefer a different limb?" Catching an edge, his finger started to bleed slightly. He frowned at it and wiped it on his pants.

How good is my coin flip fake-out to Tyr? (Sleight of Hand) - (1d20+6)

"Woah, hold on, there's no need for further violence," Orel says, gently placing a hand on Kerisha's arm in his standard "be patient" manner. "If Glart is cooperative. Which so far he certainly has been!"

He turns to Glart. "Is Cragmaw the name of the cave? How can we get there?"
Dec 30, 2020 5:43 pm
Kerisha growls and lets her blade sink slightly deeper into Glarts throat, drawing a small drip of blood, before retracting it back over her shoulder. She keeps her foot planted squarely on his chest, just to make sure he doesn't get any ideas.
Dec 30, 2020 5:56 pm
The half-elf holds out his hand in reaction to Gerbo’s fake flip. When nothing lands in or around his hand, he concludes that he must have lost the flight of the coin at some point but, in true Tyr fashion, he is unwilling to admit this. He clasps his hand closed and holds it up high in fake triumph, before shoving it deep into his pocket.
Grimacing a bit as Kerisha starts to draw blood, Glart remains calm as he speaks to Orel.

"Cragmaw is mighty goblin tribe!" Glart exclaims with pride. "I take you to cave with human. You talk to Klarg about dwarf."

It pauses for a second, a wicked smile appears, and its voice takes on a more vicious tone.

"Then Klarg kill you all!"
The second sleeping goblin begins to awake and slowly sits up. Eyes still not quite open it speaks out in a rough, gravely voice.

Hearing its fellow goblin's voice Glart's demeanor changes instantly. The smug confidence is now gone and a trace of worry can be seen in the creature's eyes.
OOC:
Goblin A is bound and is starting to wake.
Goblin B (Glart) is bound and being questioned.

Orel turns to the party. "Right. So we can gag these two, bound them, and have them take us to this cave," hey says, cracking his knuckles. "Looks like this Klarg fellow could be a bit of a problem."

He leans in towards Kerisha, and whispers, "What did the other one say? It seemed to worry Glart."
Dec 30, 2020 9:49 pm
"It asked if they killed us" Kerisha sniggers in response to Orel.

"Glart lie to us? Have us walk into trap?" She ponders the situation, and why the larger of the goblins would be nervous about the other waking up.
OOC:
I'm thinking we should separate them. The smaller of them might be a bit less sneaky, or looser lipped about what's gone down. maybe that's why Glart is anxious?
Dec 31, 2020 4:57 am
"To be completely honest, I would be surprised if there wasn't a trap." snarked Gerbo.

Lowering his voice, aiming for only his party to hear, he continued, "Speaking of traps, do you think this trap was meant specifically for us? If they got a members of the group heading before us, they might have spilled on our location. They might know more about us than we think."
Jan 3, 2021 7:10 pm
"Hmm." Orel scratches his chin, whispering to the party. "I definitely think we should separate them, to make sure they have their story straight." He glances over at the goblins. "Those horses were definitely Gundren and his companion. They might have known we were following him."

Struggling against its bindings the smaller goblin’s eyes suddenly pop wide open and it quickly realizes the situation that it is in. It starts muttering to itself in a barely audible tone.
[ +- ] Spoken in Goblin
It looks over and sees Glart is bound is well and starts to laugh.

As the little goblin continues to laugh, it lays down on its back, having seemingly accepted whatever fate awaits.

Kerisha grabs Glarts bindings and unceremoniously drags him away form the smaller goblin. She quells her anger for now. But Glart is grating on her nerves. She's considering walking into his trap just so she can kill them all and be done with the fiasco.
Jan 4, 2021 11:12 pm
"Could we do something to keep us moving? I've got a client to seek and some barrels to mend."
Belanor asks as they continue to poke with the goblins.
