"So once we manage to get these Gods forsaken manacles off, what do you propose? I have an idea to distract the guards while we rush them but after that we don't know what the layout is or where the guards are posted. I don't suppose you or your friend sitting in the corner over there, have any ideas?"

Braegar indicates the male drop sitting in the corner,a and appears to be getting annoyed with the manacles

Stupid blood chains, if I had dainty hands I bet I could have slipped out of them. If I could only....

He let's out a brief shout of anger and tries to break his bonds

Rolls

Strength check to break manacles - (1d20+5)

(7) + 5 = 12

Apr 28, 2016 7:18 am
Frustrated with his inability to slip his hands out of the manacles, Braegar tried to break the chains themselves, but the chains stubbornly remained intact.
Apr 28, 2016 9:20 am
"Well it appears that the only one with small enough hands to slip these manacles is Ardulaer. Like she says, we need a key. My placen involves one of the twins playing dead and the other causing a scene, while we ignore it. When the guards come in to remove the body we jump them. As nearly all of us are in chains, it will probably take all of us. Does anyone else speak Orcish or should I talk to the big guy?"

Braegar thinks for a moment while looking at the iron bar

"Wil, can you hold your hands up please, I'd like to try something
OOC:
If Fernymerk will allow Braegar will attack Wil's manacles with the iron rod

Rolls

Attack on manacles - (1d20+5)

(15) + 5 = 20

Damage - (1d4+5)

(4) + 5 = 9

"Ah yes, the guards here are very concerned for the safety of the prisoners. I am sure they will rush right in if somebody is playing dead." Ardulaer replies, her voice dripping with sarcasm, "No, I think we must play to their stronger emotions; lust and avarice. Since they haven't tried to take advantage of me before now there must be something preventing that avenue, so we need to go with greed."

"Fortunately I have studied some arcane lore, purely for my own amusement. With my hands free I could now conjure the image of a gold coin, then pretend to hide it when the guard sees. He will come for it if he doesn't suspect collusion, so the first part of the plan is to make a show of the rest of you mistreating me. Uplanders abusing a drow should be believable, I think."
Apr 28, 2016 11:21 am
"Or we can slaughter one of the twins since there is two of them, of course."

Janko added to Ardulaer's sarcasm. Though, he thought that if this coin trick doesn't work... killing someone to cause a distraction is an option. Ideally though, he would rather no prisoners die until he has a clean get away.

"I can slur at you in Undercommon, make it sound believable for them to understand. Just don't know how over the top you want me to go..."

The bard started to play the roll over dramatic in his head, as if it were a scene out of a play. His head's throbbing returned for a moment, causing his right eye to wince slightly.
Apr 28, 2016 11:50 am
"Nobody is killing anyone, unless it's a guard and that is only as a last resort"

Braegar glares at Janko

"Anyway, my idea wasn't to make the sympathise with the gnome more to draw them in and dispose of a lifeless body"
Apr 28, 2016 12:05 pm
"But to dispose of a body they would enter in force, perhaps avarice will bring one alone."
Apr 28, 2016 12:20 pm
"And how many will lust bring in?"

Janko suggesting what it seemed he was.
Apr 28, 2016 12:31 pm
"I am worried that if we went down that route I would have all of the guards in here!"
OOC:
She really is arrogant, isn't she?

"Well, take one for the team and we'll pay you back the next time. It would be quite the distraction, haha."

Barben chuckled, but acknowledged that the idea is a little too risky. A man's infatuation can be destructive, especially in these circumstances.

Ardulaer looks Janko in the eye, a slight smile tugging playfully at the corner of her mouth,

"You laugh like you're joking, but you would like that, wouldn't you?"

She turns her back on him and strides confidently in the direction of the gate, before turning back and saying over her shoulder,

"Typical bard really, you just want to watch others at work and then go and brag about it."
Apr 28, 2016 2:02 pm
The bard waved his hands like he was revealing a picture.

"Oh, but what a tale it would be! Ardulaer, Matron of Clan Mae-ett, a drow captured by her own kind stuck in a cage with a dozen misfits. She looked her companions in the eye with a magnificent twinkle. 'Comrades, I know my people... and there is one thing they cannot resist'. The brave drow walked from one side of the imprisonment to the other while her fellow cellmates stood there in awe of her. 'That one thing is my fine noble ass!' and she, without more than a flip of her hair, drew all the attention of the guards... occupying them with her lovely presence alone while the rest of us slipped away. Living. Living another day to tell the tale of the beautifully brave Ardulaer, Matron of Clan Mae-ett."

His little story was directed at the group more so than Ardulaer. Though, he doubted he had their attention as this was not a tavern.

"Personally, I'd like to see the story unfold... but you know."

Janko ended his sentence at Ardulaer, jokingly implying that she wouldn't get the attention of the guards the way she suggested.

Ardulaer spun back to face the bard,

"You don't think I could get a guard in here? I could get a guard in here."

And she spun back, heading for the gate while arranging her rags so they looked like they were just about to fall off. As she neared the gate her head swam as she nervously planned,

How should I play this? Coy? Demure? Sultry? Brazen? It all depends on the tastes of the guard. How did I get myself into this?

She pressed her body up tight against the bars, one of which pushed into the centre of her chest, enunciating her curves.

The first thing I'm going to do when I get out of here, she thought, is getting some decent clothes.

"Hello?" she shouted into the darkness, "there's been a mistake!"
OOC:
Ardulaer keeps her hands and the empty manacles tucked under her armpit so the guard will think she's still chained up.

Lool! It seems Janko's bardic words inspired Ardulaer. I'll use a bonus action to give one of his Bardic Inspiration dies, a d6, to Ardulaer. 3/4 dies left.

"Umm...sure...just be careful with whatever you're going to do." Wil turns his head to the side, closes his eyes, and raises his hands towards Braegar.
Apr 28, 2016 8:22 pm
Braegar slammed the iron bar into Wil's manacles. The manacles appeared to be damaged, but they were not completely broken, still holding fast on Wil's wrists.
OOC:
@fluglichkeiten Go ahead and make a deception check. You also get a d6 inspiration die from Janko that you can use if you want to. You can choose to do so after you see your roll, just before I respond with what happened. The inspiration die lasts 10 minutes, so you can save it for something later, if you want.

Insight

Apr 28, 2016 8:53 pm
Hearing the commotion in the slave pen, two drow guards approached, one of them whacking the bars sharply with his crossbow.

"What are you lot whining about? You all might try sleeping at some point. You'll all need it for tomorrow," one of the guards snarled, taking a good look at all of the prisoners. "A mistake? You'll have to take that up with the Mistress Ilvara."

The other guard remained a few steps back, his hands casually on his loaded crossbow.

Ardulaer smiled at the guards,

"I'll do that," she purred, "but as long as you're here, maybe we can talk a little, no harm in that is there? It's been such a long time since I've talked to real men like you."
OOC:
Should I roll anything else? Also, would her Position of Privilege feature have any effect?

Noticing that the guards were standing nearby, Braegar resists giving Wil's manacles another shot and hides the bar behind his back.

In a roundabout way, so as not to raise suspicion, he slowly walks towards the cell door, and gets ready to run at the door if the opportunity arises

Come on just open the door and step inside
