"I thought we agreed that that's something actual guards and proper law. Not some body guards and a guild merchant." Belanor protests.

Gerbo sighs and walks over to Belanor. "Belly, you've seen how the city works. No guards are going to help with this situation. Maybe after we deal with this wizard fella, we can talk to our friend Sildar. When he tells us he can do absolutely nothing about it, can we at least take a look? Getting a city back up and running would leave a lot of thirsty people, I would think, so of course we'll need your services." When he gets to the last part, he rubs his thumb and finger together in the "money" gesture."What do you say? We'll take this one step at a time and make some good money doing it."

"Yes, while I do agree that a town getting on it's feet does provide the opportunity to make coins. It's not profitable if I seem to perish doing things I'm clearly not equipped to handle." Belanor breaths and sheaths his sword shakely.

"This is also not something I'm equipped for but by the gods am I not gonna get paid for my labor in this endeavor. Once we find Gundren he will know the troubles this has caused me and therefor the guild!"

Gerbo shrugs and moves to open the northern door, looking over the door to look for traps, then back at his compatriots to make sure they're ready to go, before attempting to sweep the door open (staying behind the door).

The door swings open easily revealing a short hallway. The door to the right has a large lock on the clasp.

Gerbo walks forward carefully, keeping an eye out for more traps. He approaches the door, looks at the lock, and cracks his knuckles dramatically before pulling out his thieves tools, "Watch this." He begins to work on the lock.
OOC:
Is there any sign that this hallway leads back to the other room? If the backside of a secret door, etc?

"You stick with us and you won't get hurt...squishy man" She smiles at Belanor as she gives him a bit of a poke as if to make her point that he's a bit squishy in a playful way, which really doesn't come across that clearly, what with her giant sword that's dripping with red-cloak blood as she steps over their corpses.

As Gerbo works on the doors, she gives him enough room to work his magic but keeps a watchful eye, ready to defend her pack.

Karma trundles along with the group like a bad smell, hoping that one of these doors ends up leading somewhere or to some fresh air. As Gerbo checks another door Karma notices his fingers slipping a little with the thieves tools, so he walks up squishing and couple what may have been insects between his fingers. "Here Gerbo try this on your fingers, it will make your grip strong while keeping your sensitive touch." He says holding out a dark paste out to him.

While to door does give Gerbo a bit of trouble, the skillful rogue (with a little help from his dwarven friend), is able to pick the lock and swings the door open, revealing what appears to be a stockpile of weapons.

Spears, swords, crossbows, and bolts line the walls of this room and on hooks just beside the doorway are about a dozen dirty red cloaks.
OOC:
If anyone wants to look for secret doors, just give me a Perception Check and state that's what you're character is doing. OR I can just assume your characters will do that in every room where there isn't an immediate threat of some kind and make the rolls myself. It's up to you.

Gerbo starts walking around, looking over the supplies and weapons, thinking. Huh. Either this is a dead end, or they've got another entrance to a room somewhere. They did mention a door in a storage room...

I'm good with you making rolls. Gerbo would be looking for secret doors at every opportunity after finding several sneaky doors already in this place.

Karma has a look around the room examining the stone work and weapons, or the poor human attempts, seeing if there are any higher quality weapons or unusual forms to the stonework.

There is nothing out of the ordinary in the small room. The weapons are, at best, second tier in quality but serviceable nonetheless. The stone work in the room is what Karma would expect - decent, but poor by dwarven standards.

In the hallway, opposite the entrance to the weapon's room there is an obvious difference in patterning on the wall.

I'm not squishy Belanor thinks as he looks down at his slenderish figure.
I wonder what she means by that? She's kinda squishy too, right?

Belanor ponders the thoughts as he enters the store room also.
"Hey maybe this could help?" he says as he holds up a crossbow.
He attempts to load a bolt in (backwards) and poses like he's trying to look cool and/intimidating.
"How does it look?" He asks as he accidently misfires the backwards bolt into the wall.

Kerisha looks though the weapons, but nothing really measures up to her size and preference. She's starting to get more frustrated again. the close walls, stuffy air and dim light. "This is like maze. I hate maze."

She tries to clam herself, thinking of the open air and flowing rivers, until a bolt hits the wall nearby. "Looks like you do more damage to us than enemy" Speaking of damage, she realises that she is still pretty beaten up from all the little skirmishes they have been having recently. She could do with Orel, but will have to make do with her last potion.

Karma points to the area of mis-matching patterning on the wall, "Gerbo there opposite the entrance there is some poor matching of stonework, do ya want to check it out dude?"

Gerbo, hearing the dwarf"s callout while analyzing a spot of rust on his thieves tools goes over to investigate the spot he pointed out, running his hands across the wall, feeling and looking for a release.

Once he gets a close look at it, Gerbo easily determines how the hidden door works and pulls the camouflaged door open. The room behind the door is familiar - a large storeroom whose barrels and sacks had been searched earlier.
