[OOC] Aqua Mortis
Be sure to read and follow the guidelines for our forums.
However, I know you've got some points in Negotiation, so let me know if you'd rather roll against rarity instead. That might get you a discount if you roll well, and open the door to Triumphs and the like.
We can move as it is and I'll have a look when I can :D
For his Heroic I'm going to take the Power upgrade to take Paragon (Arcane) to Improved
I really need to find the time to review this :(
Just a heads up that I'll be traveling over the next week. I'm hoping to still be able to post at least once a day, but if I disappear for a bit, that's what's up.

what would POWER Special look like
I'll bump divine and charm from lv 3 -> 4 so that's 4*5*2= 40XP and then use the last 15XP to get coll to level 3.
Since we're getting tot he end, no point is hoarding XP :D
With either of these upgrades, bumping up Duration would allow you to do these things for more turns than just one (combat or social-combat turns, or longer chunks of time for unstructured time).
Likewise, lots of the Secondary Effects could come into play immediately upon use of your power if you want (like Rejuvenate), or if you upgraded with Duration (like Empowered).
XP looks good. Yep, spend it if you got it!
Am I reading you all correctly that you want to postpone the meeting with Marseen Olond, the Dribbage Acquisitions representative? You could always try to schedule a meeting with her for later; that would at least guarantee she speaks to you, but it might also give her cause to look into you. You can always appeal to your connections to her presumed boss, Olarie Dribbage, niece of the goat-man.
As for the injured miners, you have an invitation to the Barnpuddle home, but Hensnest (the guild representative) has instructed them not to speak about the accident. If you head to the Barnpuddle home now (before Onin gets off and can smooth the way with his parents), you'll have to figure out how to get the injured miner to talk.
Other big threads are visiting the main cleric treating the injured miners (Father Gettle) and trying to get access to the two Buzzard's Ford youths who are being analyzed for possible illness or affliction (both under care of the clerics of St. Durvin's Chapel). You might also look up the captain of the guard or Renash, the baron's son.
Tl;Dr: Are we postponing Olond for now? If so, do you want to try to get an appointment with her first? And then where to?
We don't need to know per say ask what happened in the mines and talk about that. We could focus soley on the injured for now and backtrack after the fact based on the injuries. Clean slash marks? Sharp blade injuries, broken and bruised limbs, bludgeoned, crushed ribcage got hit/tackled by a big son of a mob.
For Tronus Barnpuddle Senior, Gettle, St Durvin Chapel, Olond. Maybe even the Dribbage neighbors since we left them in goodish terms... Miss Dribbage though I think kinda wants to kick someone in the jumblies after the situation with her Uncle I thought.
Though for Nekurr St Durvin Chapel would be the "priority" since he's curious what's up with the kids.

If you want me to finish out the scene with a R0 in the skill and say this is what tipped him over the edge to R1 that's fine with me mate
Divine Vision! Oh hold up... is that a small cozy confined space... well you have my attention. Oh dust bunny! *Murder swat*
That should also push you to another upgrade for your Heroic Ability, as you're at 250 earned XP now. Let me know what you pick!
I'll update the game today. Hopefully Mcneils5 will be back today or shortly thereafter.
However, I don't want this to come off as punishment. This mystery is still totally solvable from your current predicament. The two potential paths are either you flee and become fugitives, or you get arrested and work a deal with someone. I suppose you could wipe out all the clerics and guards who are sent after you, but that's basically a supercharged version of the fugitive route.
Again, not my intention to punish you. I think either of the options above will make for a fun and interesting back half to the adventure. But I wanted to pump the brakes slightly in case these developments came off as unfair from your perspective. Do they? Or are you committed to freeing Jacey and then facing the might of the castle's corruption?
Accuser: You're trying to kidnap a little girl
Dwaven Counter: You tried to burn down the church the little girl was in and the Baron's Son's vassal... Are you a demon or a devil worshipper? What dark arts are you going to use against the Baron's Family and this church?
If we were at the table I'd just ask quick but I'll wait on posting. Church still on fire, girl wants to bail and she and the Lord is on fire. All in favor of me picking of J Girl and taking off Ms. Doubtfire style? (Running faster than people expect)

Barring flight to Nornholt, though, your best bets to lie low are either with the refugees (Buzzard Town), or in the miner camp. Hildar also has the Mask spell, so you could try that to at least get around for a time. Story Points might open up other possibilities.
We'll begin Session 2 (should probably be Session 3) soon, hopefully tomorrow.
Coercion R2 -10XP
Ruinous Repartee T5 -25XP
Grit R1 T1 R2 T2 -15XP
20 xp Skill: Knowledge (Forbidden) 3-4 370
20 xp Skill: Arcana 3-4 390
10 xp Skill: Cool 1-2 400
Puts me on 300 in game XP by 6 Ability Points for my Heroic but I'm going to bank this one on the off chance this goes on long enough to pick up another one (so I would have the 2 points needed for the Frequency upgrade)
So, I'll narrate you all to the tavern and let you decide if you want to go inside to talk to Olond, or wait till she leaves? Will Hildar be doing any Mask chicanery?
Base success gives the mask on two of us, using 2 advantages to push that to all three (assuming we're leaving Janey at the hut). Also with the Realism would push the difficulty to see through the Mask to Hard, using the other 4 advantages to Increase it another 2 times up to Daunting (it specifically says "increase" additional effect and if I remember right that's add dice isn't it?)
Rolls
Mask (+Additiona,. +Range, +Realism)
4 Success, 5 Advantage, 1 Failure, 3 Threat
Total: 3 Success, 2 Advantage
Orc woman

I have 85XP available to buy 5 levels of deceit and then we can use extra buffs. Nekurr the charming cat turns into a sneaky cat to replace Nera 😒
I'm ok with guards, but we may need our space when we're investigating (like they stay out of the egg chamber or something)
"We'll provide your new labor force." is the logic consequence of this mystery being solved :D
I'd say minimum we want access and all information regarding what's in those tunnels (maybe who's involved in it). We will convince the mines/refugees to work again once we know that it is safe, so she can have her labor.
Tronus wants some notion of her financial situation, perhaps including access to her books.
Nekurr wants access to the tunnels for the three of you unmasked (whom she assumes kidnapped her labor force for some reason). He wants her to reveal what she knows about what's down there, which you assume to be dragon eggs.
Nekurr offers, in return, to convince the refugees and/or miners to go back to work.
@mcneils5 hasn't been posting since the holidays, so I hope they find their way back to the site!
Remember that she's suspicious of you and your motives, and so far you haven't offered her anything. But there may be some things she's just not willing to give up, no matter how well you roll. So far, I think asking her to grant access to the tunnels for your unmasked "associates" is your cleanest play, with access to her books being advantage/triumph territory. But you'll have to tell her what's in it for you—are you sticking with the "we want the eggs" story? Are you pretending to be mobsters muscling in on a major public-works project, or something else? In return, you promise to restore her access to either the miners or the refugees; you pick.
From her, you're asking for access to the tunnels and information on what caused the accident. Possibly also the ability to cart away dragon eggs (which, apparently, put a curse on anyone who touches them, to judge by the stories you've heard from the three refugee kids.)
In they spirit of yes, but -- maybe she'll turn over the labor end in an official capacity—meaning your deminuman selves will be employees and won't have to worry about being arrested any more.
So she's still Program Manager while we can push for onsite (via paperwork she will write out) supervisor or site lead.
Refugees cleared and don't have to work, our 'minions' clears so they can work. This is mostly so work doesn't get out what happened any other nobles in her Boss's circle can use this situation as a means to socially take a jab at his reputation and projected competency as next in line for the Barony.
Dragon eggs we call dibs for safekeeping purposes since it could lead to more than the Baron coming back and choking his son to death... like possible armies coming to just slaughter everyone, raise the castle and bury everything... then salt the earth.
Fact checking
Also this project was at a high level to increase farmable land for steady crop production correct?
How are you phrasing the dragon egg thing? She's denied that such things exist. You could use a lot of the advantage to get her to come clean about what she knows there, but not also to get her to hand them over to you (if they exist). In other words, you can phrase it vaguely -- "we get any artifacts we find," or you could get her to admit (potentially) the find, but she'll keep ownership.
Finally: Yes, the underground water tunnel is supposed to circumvent the curse on the land by bringing water from an area that is not cursed.
Minions given a writ to act as proxy for 'us' would probably be what I'd like to work towards for that one.
Dragon Eggs I guess should be referred to as abnormalities. Finder, analysis, research finder fees if there's squabbling over somantics well Tronus is Tronus so.
Cool on the last one that pushes an interesting line of reasoning and leverage that hasn't been mentioned I think... from an economics standpoint.

something is not quite right with the "lizard"...
Remember that the question has to be a yes-or-no format. So "Is this the real reason for the mining project? Like, are they actually mining something or just knew the eggs were here?" is too complex. You might try:
"Was the tunnel project always a ruse to get to these eggs?" Or, if you want to know whether that's the case now but maybe wasn't always: "Is the tunnel project now just a ruse to get to these eggs?"
Also let me know how Nekurr plans to express the question (out loud? Think it in his head? Etc. - that gives me something to play off when I have Fortuna respond!)
"Is the tunnel project now just a ruse to get to these eggs?" is probably better in case it wasn't always like that. They are surely aware of the little infestation problem here so it's really about motives I guess. Also a bit confusing about why they'd let us in if they were hiding something this... obvious...
Would Devourer work when shapshifted into a beast? It adds extra creepiness to the character's "curse" :D
can also boost my ranges to lv2...which may be useful in this combat.
I probably don't want anyone near me and I have some rocks to sling
We're looking at a slow week this week, as Mcneils5 is camping. But we're almost certainly in the final encounter of the campaign, so you're welcome to jump back in for the grand finale. Tl;Dr: You, Nekurr, and Hildar are in the water tunnel at the scene of the mining accident. You found Marseen Olond on the scene with some minions in a huge cavern filled with clutches of dragon eggs. As eggs have started exploding and hatching, her allies have all fled or died. It's just you three, a weakened Olond, and... dragon hatchlings now!
If you were just checking in to say hi, no worries at all about rejoining the game. But I wanted to make sure you knew you were welcome to rejoin!
it there a was to destroy the cave from outside? We could teleport and then smash the eggs... Maybe I can do a divine blast sort of thing. are they considered... well... the antithesis of luck?
In the meantime, let's have one last set piece and wrap this campaign up. :)
