Let's assume under-guard access to the tunnels might be granted at this point. You're then negotiating for what that visit is going to look like. Fewer guards? Let your unmasked "associates" go instead of you? You could very well say you want to take over the project, claiming you kidnapped the girl to get her attention mafioso style—"We'll provide your new labor force."

i didn't think of it mafia style... it would be cool, but probably not our style. Definitely want to leaf this in the hands of our capable associates :D

Moving the discussion here. So looks like these are the potential demands:

Tronus wants some notion of her financial situation, perhaps including access to her books.

Nekurr wants access to the tunnels for the three of you unmasked (whom she assumes kidnapped her labor force for some reason). He wants her to reveal what she knows about what's down there, which you assume to be dragon eggs.

Nekurr offers, in return, to convince the refugees and/or miners to go back to work.

@mcneils5 hasn't been posting since the holidays, so I hope they find their way back to the site!

Remember that she's suspicious of you and your motives, and so far you haven't offered her anything. But there may be some things she's just not willing to give up, no matter how well you roll. So far, I think asking her to grant access to the tunnels for your unmasked "associates" is your cleanest play, with access to her books being advantage/triumph territory. But you'll have to tell her what's in it for you—are you sticking with the "we want the eggs" story? Are you pretending to be mobsters muscling in on a major public-works project, or something else? In return, you promise to restore her access to either the miners or the refugees; you pick.

yeah, we need to come up with an employer or some interest in the mines. At least as a backup cover story in case we need it. we could say we have businesses that would profit with the mine's restarting maybe? imply we are like some sort of merchants or investors?

So, yes, let's roll this Negotiation check up. I don't think we need to drag it out any longer. You're offering her to have your three associates (unmasked you) investigate the tunnels and clear them of any dangers. By doing so, you have the ability to get the miners back to work, since your reassurances will overcome their work stoppage. (You could offer the refugees instead, but that's such a desperate group that she may not need your help with them.)

From her, you're asking for access to the tunnels and information on what caused the accident. Possibly also the ability to cart away dragon eggs (which, apparently, put a curse on anyone who touches them, to judge by the stories you've heard from the three refugee kids.)

LOL. I think with Knack for It in Negotiation, that ends up being 11 advantage to spend. :) Treat that as a couple of Triumphs if you wish. That's an awful lot to try to carve up, but you're also welcome to try that route.

Any suggestions from the group 2 extra successes maybe swing a bit of autonomy or authority onsite for 'our demihuman employees' in case of an emergency. Maybe one triumph to take over financial decision making for works (in writing) in exchange for ensure safer conditions. Any oddities, lost treasures, or curiosities will be transported to us or can be used by our employees in perpetuity to ensure civil peace to the best of their abilities.

I'm gonna say she's not going to turn the project over to you. She may let you look at her books, but she will have to remain in charge.

wow 11 adv! can we get full autonomy to investigate with her cooperation as well? i mean, something like a letter that get us into places (probably what "official capacity" capacity means anyway). oh yeah, and she's paying for the next round ;)

Refugees cleared and don't have to work, our 'minions' clears so they can work. This is mostly so work doesn't get out what happened any other nobles in her Boss's circle can use this situation as a means to socially take a jab at his reputation and projected competency as next in line for the Barony.

Dragon eggs we call dibs for safekeeping purposes since it could lead to more than the Baron coming back and choking his son to death... like possible armies coming to just slaughter everyone, raise the castle and bury everything... then salt the earth.

Ah, OK -- so the proposal is that you take over supervising the mining in an official capacity, and your three "minions" (unmasked selves) are the new miners? I like that.

How are you phrasing the dragon egg thing? She's denied that such things exist. You could use a lot of the advantage to get her to come clean about what she knows there, but not also to get her to hand them over to you (if they exist). In other words, you can phrase it vaguely -- "we get any artifacts we find," or you could get her to admit (potentially) the find, but she'll keep ownership.

Finally: Yes, the underground water tunnel is supposed to circumvent the curse on the land by bringing water from an area that is not cursed.

I guess we are allowed to take everything we find with inspecting the mines for further investigation is the way to go. we probably don't to push and have her admit there being dragon eggs, if we get to see them life?

Minions given a writ to act as proxy for 'us' would probably be what I'd like to work towards for that one.

Dragon Eggs I guess should be referred to as abnormalities. Finder, analysis, research finder fees if there's squabbling over somantics well Tronus is Tronus so.

By the way, I replaced the Story Point tracker with tokens using one of the recent updates by Adam to the site. It's in the same thread, but now you just click on one of the tokens to change it from white to black (PC to GM). The software tracks who has flipped what and when. Pretty spiffy!
