As the villagers keep their distance, he tries singing a lullaby, a traditional song about a tiny bird learning the names of things. After enduring a few moments of panicked screams, he settles back into the work, certain he is running out of their good will. Any second they will turn on him. This is the way of things, long ago set in motion by their mutual ancestors. But maybe he can make their defences stronger before they drive him away.

Outside, Veroth assists with the barricades. His strong muscles bend easily with modest loads, and he revels in the work. He settles into a routine much like flying: effort, strain, relax.

The humans will be weary of Veroth, but will not succumb to panic. They will mostly give him a wide berth, except teh two Vistani, who seem to also be outsiders among humans. there will also be a very big and strong-looking man who also seems to be simple-minded who will not recoil from Veroth, as simple-minded folks tend to do.
Unlike the other refugees, he did not come from the inn, but rather from the building across the town square from the inn. He was promptly pushed out the door, told to help the others with the barricades by a smaller weasel-looking man who seems to hove some sort of family resemblance to him, and then the door was quickly closed and locked behind him...

Back inside the tavern, Weiryn turns to Darren. "Darren, would you mind taking me to see Ireena? I would like to at least try to bring her to safety and see to her father's memory before the day is through."

"Of course, brother," Darren agrees readily and then informs the others before leading Weiryn to Ireena's house.

"Perhaps we should all go." Says Kayleigh.
"I'll remain here, help Lady Ashlyn protect the folks here. I think I'm making progress with the locals here. Although, if what Weiryn and Ujjaya said was true, my crow face might be giving me an unfair advantage..." Respond Kuroi.

Weiryn chuckles at Kuroi's remark. A few should remain, to ensure the security here. I will not argue with extra help in fending off the hordes on our way to the lady Ireena, but the safety of the citizens here is paramount.

"With the barricades repaired and brother Kuroi remaining here to help me, I should be able to protect the people here. We get maybe one attack per day on average here. The barricades repair took some time and it's getting late. I'm not sure how well-protected the place you are going is and brother Roland is right, there is strength in number."

Ujjaya nods and mounts up. "To the burgomaster's mansion then." He intones a blessing over those who will remain, before turning to follow the others.
Aug 8, 2016 3:23 pm
Roland checks over and loads all his weapons. Once they are all prepared he mounts on his cart.
"Let us see if we can offer our assistance again to another who is in need."

Mounting up, Weiryn scans the ones repairing the barricades until he finds Veroth. "Brother Veroth! We are going to see if I can convince the lady Ireena to return here with us. Do you wish to come with?"

OOC:
You guys will probably go on foot right now as I doubt the villagers build a gate to let your horses and cart through the barricade. Don't worry, your mounts will be taken care of at the inn's stables.Aug 8, 2016 3:31 pm
OOC:
Roger that. No Gate.Aug 8, 2016 4:05 pm
You make your way south, towards the mansion. Make me a Perception check.

OOC:
I'm just assuming, by this point, Deathwatch has run out. If not, I'm using the heck out of it, but I'm just guessing it's been more than 10 minutes since I escorted that lady back.OOC:
Wow. That makes four rolls under 5 this morning. Apparently, I'm not meant to have a living character in any game.Last edited August 8, 2016 4:09 pm
