My mystake. I hadn't taken into account the positive energy, so the horse is at 9 HP.

Roland will be making a called shot. Taking a -5 penalty for attempting a head shot. This will be against the Touch AC of the creature as it is within the first range increment of the weapon.

Edit: Rereading that i realized my exact target was unclear, it is the zombie closest to Roland, to the left of Kayliegh with the long white beard

Rolls

called shot head shot - (1d20+5)

(13) + 5 = 18

double hackbut damage - (2d12)

(112) = 13

OOC:
Are there like special rules for called shots in some supplement I'm not aware of?

It's in Ultimate Combat, so I dont know if that's a rule you're using.
Jun 10, 2016 10:25 pm
OOC:
Yeah, I did a quick google search and had a quick read. I honestly don't see any need for those rules as the complexity added versus what you gain out of it seem to not make them worth the added complexity. I won't bother with such rules... So this was a normal hit against touch AC 23.
Darren aims at the nearest zombie and unleashes hell with his double hackbutt. The bullet punches a sizeable hole in the zombie, exposing bones and viscera, but sadly this type of damage doesn't seem to be as effective as Weiryn's mastery over positive energy, or Kayleigh's good old axe...

Now it,s Kayleigh's turn, for realsies this time... :P

OOC:
sorry old fashioned zombie shit kicked in. Shoot it in the head and kill it. Lol. Won't use it again.
Jun 10, 2016 10:55 pm
Decided not to yield to paralysis, Kayleigh attempts to break free from the spell.
OOC:
Save roll at -2 due to the sickened state inflicted by the zombies.

Rolls

Kayleigh's will save - (1d20+3)

(13) + 3 = 16

Jun 10, 2016 11:44 pm
OOC:
No problems Kaos. I was just wondering if you were also just trying to figure out a better way to put those zombies out as they don't seem to die when they should. Sadly, no headshot for those zombies, their unique ability doesn't work that way... :P
Summoning all of her willpower, Kayleigh manages to break the spell which held her immobile.

Fourth round of combat!

Initiative order:
20 Kuroi
15 Ujjaya
10 Darren
9 Magic Zombie??
9 Zombies
9 Weiryn
8 Roland
5 Kayleigh

Combat map

Conditional modifiers:
Mounted Combat.
Mist is ever present in the streets and limits vision. Beyond 30 feet, creatures have concealment (20% miss chance).
Overturned Cart: Provides cover (+4 AC, +2 Ref) to those taking shelter behind it.
Kayleigh is sickened (-2 attack rolls, damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks).
One of the zombies is on fire (1d6 fire damage per round).
2 zombies (the darker ones with grey border above Kayleigh's position) are turned, ready to run away, the creature in the alleyway is currently cowering (-2 AC, loses DEX) as it cannot run away.
Jun 10, 2016 11:57 pm
Kuroi will attempt to down the closest (bearded) zombie with a manyshot, posibly targeting his last arrow on the woman zombie (brown border) if he does manage to down his first target with his first two arrows...

"Damn, what will it takes to keep those abominations down!? I've never seen zombies like this before!"
OOC:
Finally, he had to shoot his third arrow in the first zombie after all, which gains a +1 on attack and damage for Point Blank shot. But this 3rd arrow did managed to kill the bearded zombie...
Ujjaya is up (do not forget your 1d6 burning damage on the zombie you shot last round!)

Sorry guys, just noticed that channel positive energy is a damge undead or heal allies. It's a one or the other type deal, not both. So sadly, Kayleigh's horse is still at 4 hp. First time DMing Pathfinder, so expect small mistakes like that to crop up time and again. XD

I hope this does not change your action Spades.

Ujjaya realizes Darren is fighting a possibly more dangerous threat is in the alley. But he cannot abandon Kayleigh. He keeps shooting the zombies surrounding her, hoping to end them soon so he can go to Darren's aid.
OOC:
• Hitting the burning zombie (e10) with normal arrows til it drops. If it takes less than 3 hits to kill then switching to Alchemical Flare before targeting next zombie (e9)
• Flurry of Blows: full-attack, 3 arrows.
• Precise Shot: shoot into melee w/o penalty.
• Improved Precise Shot: Ignore anything less than total cover or concealment.
• Deadly Aim: -2 to hit, +4 to damage.

just checking on my own research. the touch attack difficulty listed earlier seemed incredibly high. it should not include any armor bonus, shield bonus, or natural armor bonus. It just seems unlikely that they are getting a +13 from there dexterity as a zombie.

I think it was that you rolled a 23 vs touch AC ;)

He misspoke, bro. Your Attack Vs. Touch A.C. was 23. The Zombie doesn't have Touch AC 23. If it does, we're screwed, and I'm sorry for the kobolds
Jun 11, 2016 3:03 pm
OOC:
That makes sense. Just checking as online here is my only real time spent with the pathfinder system.
Jun 11, 2016 4:12 pm
OOC:
I'll first check for the fire damage as the zombie might die from that and you could switch target if it does. Now matter what though, your first arrow will miss...

And yes, sorry if that wan't clear, but I meant to say that Darren managed to hit touch AC 23 instead of touch AC 18 as there was no need to apply the -5 for a called shot...
The fire damage is enough to kill the zombie Ujjaya was planning on targeting, dropping as he's about to shoot his first arrow making him miss as he switch target on the fly. However, hit last two arrows connect, Killing one of the fleeing zombies.

Darren is up next!

Darren steps over the downed pony and attacks the magical zombie.
OOC:
If the pony is still a threat I will attack it instead

Rolls

Attack! - (1d20+11, 1d8+13)

1d20+11 : (13) + 11 = 24

1d8+13 : (5) + 13 = 18

Darren steps over the limp body of the summoned fiendish pony. If it is not dead, it is surely out of combat. He takes a mighty swing of his hammer and hears the satisfying sounds of bones breaking underneath. The cowering creature is still standing however, but looks much worse for wear.

In fact it is now its turn, so it will attempt a new save to see if it stopes cowering...

The creature stops cowering and now stands up to face Darren and in desperation, will attempt to bite him, but fails to do so.

Rolls

Alley creature's Will save

Alleyway creature's bite and damage

Jun 12, 2016 6:53 pm
One of the remaining zombies will flee and the remaining one will attack Kayleigh's horse again. Hitting only AC 11, I assume this attack will miss the horse...

Weiryn is up!

Rolls

Zombie's attack and damage - (1d20+7, 1d4+3)

1d20+7 : (4) + 7 = 11

1d4+3 : (3) + 3 = 6
