Act I: Inauspicious Start

Jul 15, 2016 12:23 pm
Kayleigh slashes at the zombie and is destroyed on her first hit.
OOC:
You only made a single attack after all, which means you can now move or perform some other move action if you want to.

Also, I'd like to add a not for anyone tracking their hit points in your posts. In the future, can you please do it as a note addressed to me? Yes, I know it can be an important thing for the GM to know, but unless Weiryn (or possibly Darren) has Deathwatch active and you are at 3 or less hp, nobody else in the party should know how much hp you have left. If someone wants to ask for a cure spell, you can always answer "I am lightly/moderately/severely/etc. damaged" as the case may be.

Hard to Kill

Seeing the path is clear, Kayleigh will then rush toward the zombies around the woman in the center of the place.
OOC:
Oops. I switched to notes for HP tracking.
I'm on my phone right now again, can't move Kayleigh's marker, sorry. She'll rush to were she can hit as many zombies as possible

OOC:
ok, where do you want to move?
Jul 17, 2016 2:07 pm
OOC:
Okay, Since Spades will be a way for a while, I'll be playing Kayleigh.
Kayleigh moves her horse to get closer to the woman in full-plate in order to help her in the next round. After having moved, another corpse will move to get close to her, this one moving more gracefully than the other rotting corpse. It cannot attack, however as it seems it took a double move, something zombies cannot do...

After this mysterious corpse, it is the woman's turn. she first grasps her holy symbol and call on the light to help her (a standard cation) which seems to invigorate her. She will then declare a smite evil on the zombie behind her (f9, swift action). Finally, with only a move action left this round she will remain there and wait for her next turn before taking advantage of her smite evil...

Weiryn is up next!

Weiryn spurs his horse forward, holding on to the divine power in his hands as he dismounts behind Kayleigh...ready to aid her and the mysterious woman in plate armor.
OOC:
Two move actions...one to ride forward into battle, the other to dismount.

Conditional modifiers:
Mounted Combat.
Mist is ever present in the streets and limits vision. Beyond 30 feet, creatures have concealment (20% miss chance).
Kayleigh is sickened (-2 attack rolls, damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks).
Weiryn still holding the charge of a Cure Moderate Wounds spell. His Deathwatch (range 30 ft., can tell if creature is dead, fragile [alive with 3 hp or less left], fighting off death [alive with 4 or more hp], healthy, undead, or neither alive nor dead [such as constructs]) is still active (Sorry, I forgot it in the last fights, but I doubt it would've made much difference).

Darren is up!
Jul 18, 2016 1:22 pm
His path blocked by Weiryn's horse, Darren shouts to the armored woman, "Close your eyes!" then channels his power and a flash of light extends from the woman, searing the zombies in the area with divine energy. After the spell goes off he works his horse past Weiryn's and goes to help the armored woman.
OOC:

Power Attack: -2 attack, +4 damage

Casting Burst of Radiance on the square the woman occupies
This spell fills the area with a brilliant flash of shimmering light. Creatures in the area (10 ft, so it should hit 5 zombies) are blinded for 1d4 rounds, or dazzled for 1d4 rounds if they succeed at a Reflex save (DC14). Evil creatures in the area of the burst take 1d4 points of damage per caster level (max 5d4), whether they succeed at the Reflex save or not.

Casting spell before I move so I don't get caught in it!

OOC:
You do realize you can move through allie,s spaces right? The horse is your ally, so long as you don,t stop in its space, you can move through... Do you want to re-do that action?
Jul 18, 2016 2:24 pm
OOC:
To be honest, I had forgotten that! Updated post to include moving up to the front lines :)
Jul 18, 2016 2:40 pm
Darren casts his spell, damaging the zombies surrounding the woman, scoring a good hit on each of them. Luckily for Darren, it seems most of the zombies are now using their arms to scan their immediate surroundings, as if they were suddenly stuck blind...
OOC:
Saves rolled from left to right, top to bottom.

Blinded: Creature cannot see, -2 to AC, lose Dex bonus to AC, -4 on most Str or Dex-based skills and opposed Perception checks. All activities involving vision automatically fail, opponents have total concealment (50%), must make DC 10 Acrobatics to move faster than half speed, if fail falls prone.

Dazzled: -1 on attack rolls and sight-based Perception checks.

Now it is the zombies' turn.
OOC:
Good call on that spell Naat!
I'll house rule that both blinded zombie who are currently flanking the woman cannot benefit from the flanking bonus... Can you really be flanked by two blind opponents after all?

Prone: Creature lying on the ground, -4 melee attack, cannot use ranged weapon except crossbows, +4 AC vs. ranged attacks, -4 AV vs. melee weapon, standing up is a move-equivalent action which provokes an attack of opportunity.
The zombie mostly flails ineffectually this round (in fact, the one attempting to attack Darren's horse fumbles and falls prone...). Only two of the zombies attack the woman manage to land soft hits on her and teh one bashing at the southern door still fails to hit hard enough to put a dent in it...

Edit: Oops, I switched blind zombies for dazzled and dazzled ones for blind for some reason... instead of rerolling everything (and since most rolls failed anyways), I'll simply switch one of the miss chance to another zombie, which means only 1 attack hit the woman this round, not 2.

Edit 2: I realized that because of the wall, Darren would have had to move through the threatened areas of two zombies to get to where he is... so I'll go ahead and roll the attacks of opportunity here. Darren horse's would have been hit for 6 points of damage and a Fortitude save.

Ujjaya is up next.

Ujjaya's string of bad luck continues as his horse fails to overrun the zombie in f7.
OOC:
I moved you back to f0-g1. Since the overrun was a failure, you were stuck in front of the zombie, but since some of those squares are occupied, you are pushed back to the first free squares...
Kuroi will advance, and seeing that the zombies surrounding the woman are suddenly less dangerous thanks to Darren's spell will turn his attention to the strange corpse in a red border in front of Kayleigh and shoots an arrow on it... Kuroi's arrow strikes true, however the thing is still standing, looking somewhat annoyed...

Roland is up next!

Roland advances to h4 and places 2 shots onto the creature in space i7. Should the zombie fall before the second shot, then that shot will go into the zombie in g7.

Feats used.
Deadly Aim -2 hit/ +4 damage
Point Blank Shot +1/+1 within 30 feet
Precise shot ignore penalty for fire into melee
Gun Training add dex modifier to damage
Within range so firing against touch ac

Roland hits the creature twice. It takes some damage but is still standing, it seems to be reconsidering whether to attack the rider in front of him or maybe taking care of those pesky ranged attackers...

Kayleigh's action might make it reconsider further... As she declares a Whirlwind Attack. Her whirlwind Attack hits the zombies in j5 and g7, but misses the creature in i7...

Rolls

Kayleight's Whirlwind Attack - (1d20+9, 1d12+3)

1d20+9 : (7) + 9 = 16

1d12+3 : (11) + 3 = 14

Jul 20, 2016 5:11 pm
The creature seeing that Kayleigh's mighty swing missed it suddenly feels a bit more confident, confident enough to wade in between Darren and Kayleigh and risk attacks of opportunity to get at Roland and attack him.. Its gamble seems to have paid so far as Kayleigh missed it again (waiting for Darren's AoO). It moves forward and then strikes Roland for 9 points of damage, Roland now has a Fortitude and a Reflexes save to make!

Rolls

Kayleigh's attack of opportunity - (1d20+9, 1d12+3)

Darren manages to hit the creature. It is still standing.
OOC:
Going to be honest, I did not expect you to hit it, but you did rolled a 19 after all...

Roland is fine.
OOC:
Damn, I was hoping you's fail your Ref save... :P
The woman will move to no longer be surrounded by zombies, even if they are mostly useless right now, and attack the dazzled one in f7 using Power Attack. Only her first attack will have succeeded. The zombie is still standing, but seems to be in a pretty sorry state...

Weiryn is up next!
