Veroth skewer the last wolf, killing it.

Victory!
You gain 387 XP each!

Ireena turns to you.

"Those were Strahd's servants. I'm sure of it. I do not know why those creatures wanted pieces of cloth from you or what use Strahd would have of these, but whatever it is, it cannot be good..."
Sep 10, 2016 12:04 am
Roland reloads his hackbutt and comes down to join.
who all did the wolf's get away with fabric and blood from?
Sep 10, 2016 10:04 pm
"That would be mine, we felled the other beasties before they got away with their quarry. Thank ye for yer help there, I'm not sure I could have kept Orin out of trouble by meself. He's more clever with his ledgers than with the axe." Durgrim shoots a reprimanding look to his cousin.

"We're in your debt. I am Durgrim Forgehammer, holy hammer of Torag. This is me cousin; Orin. We came to this foul place in search of some stolen property of me cousin's, but.. " He looks around warily. "Tell ye what, we should continue this tale inside. I dinne trust the open sky."

Once inside he continues

"We came to a mansion on the hill over ere" He points over the way he came from "There's a vampir there, an anicent one. Was as close to him as I am to ye now, and I felt the stench of 'im deep in me bones. Ne'r felt one as strong as that, he knocked the wind 'outt'a me pipes just by standin' 'ere. I yelled for Orin to run, and ran after 'im. Then 'e sendt those wargs on us. Gods know what he be wantin' our blood for. He looks slightly worried about that last statement.

Veroth stretches his wings out fully and glances up at the sky with the dwarf. His eyes glow with longing. "Such a creature must be ancient and evil. Suffer no false life. I am Veroth."

He points at the others." We're assisting the good lady Ireena sit sigil over her kin. You may join us, with her permission?" He defers to Ireena.
Sep 10, 2016 11:56 pm
At the mention of the castle and the vampire, Ireena exclaims.

"You met Strahd? And survived? You did well to have run for your lives."

Examining the "wolves" more closely, Weiryn will realize that those are actually worgs and not wolves, which might explain their organisation during battle.

Collecting the scrap of bloody cloth from the dead worg's mouth, Weiryn rises with a look of concern. Approaching the dwarves, he nods to the paladin.

Brother Durgrim, do you and your companion require healing of any kind? Looking to Darren and the others, he continues, As soon as everyone is rested, we should return to Ashlyn and the others, after seeing to Ireena's security. There is much to discuss before we travel to this wise woman I've heard so much about.

"I believe I have got the same sickness that Kalie had. If anyone could do anything about that it would be appreciated."

I am uncertain if this will work, but I will attempt something for you...

Extending his holy symbol and laying a hand on his fellow Lightbringer's shoulder, Weiryn mutters a prayer to Pharasma and casts Lesser Restoration on the sickened gunslinger.

Weiryn's spell seems to be ineffective in curing Roland from his sickness.
OOC:
Both group will notice that the other (at least Durgrim for the group of dwarves) also bear the stylized half-moon, half sun symbol of the Lightbringers.

"Suffer no false life" Durgrim nods to the others in acknowledgement.

"I can't cure ye, but Torag may let me keep it at bay for three hours a day. In a evil land as this, I suggest we choose those hours keenly."
OOC:
Durgrim is hit for 19 hp (down to 59 from 78). I can heal these myself through lay on hands (3/day), but those may be better used in combat or to supress Roland's sickness for 1h). Not sure what resources we have, kicking myself for not buying a wand of CLW atm :/
He looks to Orin. "Cousin. I promised ye I would help ye track down the thieves, but It seems there is a hotter ingot in the forge that needs hammering. In any case, if this Strahd" He spits at the taste of that name. "is behind the thievery, we have little hope of recovering that treasure. I suggest we join these people, as they are Lightbringers, and there is safety in numbers."

He addresses Ireena: "Milady. We shall be honored to sit sigil over your kin."
Sep 12, 2016 3:26 pm
Orin shrugs. "I don't know cousin, that Strahd fellow looked rather pale to be one of my thieves. It was those darn gypsies! And if this wasn't bad enough, I just lost my menn to that Strahd and his vampires... But you are right. This Strahd creature probably needs to be dealt with first, this land does not seem safe with him around."

Ireena will first be about to thank you as she is interrupted by your cousin. "Gypsies? You mean the Vistani? They camp at the Tser Pool. Madam Eva, the wise woman, is their leader, I believe."
OOC:
Don't worry, you'll still have to sleep the rest of the night (assuming nothing else attacks you), so you should heal 6 of those naturally.

"Suffer no false life, brothers," Darren says, "We'd be happy to have you along on our task and, if the opportunity presents itself, to help you with yours."
Sep 12, 2016 3:52 pm
"Interesting...we plan to visit with this Madame Eva, I believe. Everyone should get some rest, and then see what we can do.

Durgrim, perhaps you and your cousin would be willing to take a look at the defenses here and see if there is anything you can suggest? Dwarven engineering is unmatched by anything I've ever had the pleasure of seeing, and Lady Ireena wishes to remain here with her father until the scourge in this town has been cleansed."
Sep 12, 2016 6:17 pm
"Ok good, so we got nothing for taking care of this for now. I'll just power through boys. No false life and all that. But if you will excuse me, i need to rest before i vomit on everyone here."
Sep 12, 2016 6:35 pm
Veroth watches the others, and then escorts them back inside. Once everyone is indoors, he re-secures the doors and windows that were disturbed by the impromptu rescue attempt.
Sep 12, 2016 7:48 pm
Orin will answer Weiryn. "Well, I'm a merchant, not an engineer, so I'm afraid my suggestion would be limited to simply tearing down all that flimsy wood and replacing it with strong, dependable stone. Wood... Bah! Who thinks of building dwellings with that!? It's almost as if humans spent too much time with those tree-hugging elves..."
