"If you are still feeling weak, I may have some magic that could possibly restore your energy. Unfortunately, I have only power enough to cast it once for the day," Darren offers.
Sep 19, 2016 5:35 pm
"I believe I have a potion that will work, as well. You are welcome to try it."
Sep 19, 2016 5:37 pm
OOC:
@ Weiryn: A specter would do it. Plus, they do make animals panic, which would fit perfectly with Kuroi's description.
Seeing Veroth being on the lookout, Kuroi continues.
"Oh, don't worry brother, the thing is long gone, Lady Ashlyn easily drove it away. Besides, if it were back, we'd hear the horses panic again."
OOC:
Currently suffering from negative levels will be a logical explanation as to why those characters cannot accompany you and, if Parvus and Spades ever come back later, why their characters will probably not have the same amount of levels that you do.
Sep 19, 2016 5:41 pm
"It sounds to me as if you were visited by a spectre...they do drain the life from their victims, and spook animals quite easily.

As to our night, I feel as though it would be best to discuss that in private. Is Ashlyn awake yet?"
Sep 19, 2016 5:44 pm
"Yes, though, as crammed as the living quarters are, 'privacy' is a rather subjective term..."
Sep 19, 2016 5:58 pm
Making his way into the tavern with the others, Weiryn nods to Lady Ashlyn and approaches the innkeeper. "If it is at all possible, sir, we would like a private area to discuss the matters of the day."
Sep 19, 2016 7:27 pm
Arik shrugs. "I guess I could tell the tenants of one of the room to exit for a while so you can have a moment of privacy. That's the best I'm capable of doing at the moment, given the circumstances, I'm afraid..."

As you speak with the innkeeper, Orin spots the two Vistani playing cards in their corner.
"By Kols' beard! THIEVES! FILTHY THIEVES! WHERE ARE MY WARES?"
Orin then makes his way towards the gypsies rudely shoving people aside...

Durgrim sighs before running after his cousin. "Allright, let's get out the sifter and find the truth of this matter."

Once he reaches the table in question, he holds his cousin to the side with one hand, while putting his other hand on the table and glares at the gypsies. In a calm manner he says in Dwarfish: "I'll handle this, Orin." before summoning his commanding voice (in common). "You two stay! My cousin here is bereft of some wares, and tells me you are the fault of this. What do ye have to say for yourselves?"
OOC:
I'll roll Intimidate to try to get them to stay, Diplomacy to try to get the truth from them and sense motive to see if they tell the truth. Disregard any rolls that are not appropriate

Rolls

Intimidate - (1d20+3)

(14) + 3 = 17

Diplomacy - (1d20+8)

(1) + 8 = 9

Sense motive - (1d20+6)

(7) + 6 = 13

The gypsies first look amused at the angry dwarf barging towards them, pushing people aside, but when they notice Durgrim walking towards them, they move their hands toward the hilt of their sabers, expecting trouble. Durgrim then takes his authoritative tone with them, making sure they remain where they are, their hands moving away from the hilt of their swords, but not by too much...

Then Durgrim starts asking questions. The gypsies relax a bit, simply shrug, and answer in a heavily accented Common. "Ve do not know vat you be talkin' about giorgo. But if you lookin' for something, you go ask Madam Eva. Maybe she read your fortune. She can see things. Maybe she knows vere vat you looking for is..."

Durgrim is convinced the gypsies know nothing about stolen merchandise.

Bluff Check?

Sep 20, 2016 12:41 pm
Weiryn approaches cautiously, prepared to intervene, but it seems as though Durgrim has things well under hand.

"Gentlemen, if I may...this is not the time or place for such things. Master Orin, once we have cleared this place of its undead infestation, you have my word that I will do everything in my power to aid you in the search of your lost goods. For now, though, things are difficult enough without infighting amongst the refugees hidden here."

Turning back to the innkeeper, he continues his conversation there, "Master Arik, I am willing to pay one of your tenants for the use of their room for a short time."
Sep 20, 2016 5:25 pm
Durgrim talks quietly to his cousin in dwarfish. "Are ye sure, cousin? Either they be the best liars I've met, or they're speaking the truth. Is it possible that ye just saw their clothing, and jumped the crossbow so to say? In any case, I believe Weiryn is right. The undead taint must take presence over your wares. And truth be said, I think Weiryn would have an easier way of finding your wares than either of us."

He turns to the gypsies, and continues in the common tounge. "We are sorry to have disturbed you, it seems we were mistaken. We will take yer advice, and seek our wares elsewere. I hope all is mended if I refresh those drinks of yours."

He gestures to the bartender, and orders new drinks for them.

Rolls

Diplomacy (un-ruffle gypsy feathers) - (1d20+8)

(3) + 8 = 11

Diplomacy (Convince Orin to let the matter drop for the moment) - (1d20+8)

(5) + 8 = 13

Turning to Weiryn, Aurik will shrug. "As much value as money has right now... Always worth a try. Worst case scenario, I guess I can offer some free drinks to sweeten the deal, that is if Ismark hasn't drank it all already..."

The gypsy men will smile at Durgrim and eagerly accept the offer for refreshments. "You alright giorgio."

Once they're out of earshot of the table, Orin will turn to Durgrim. "Perhaps it wasn't them, but one of their tribes... or whatever those savages call their groupings. It was gypsies, similar clothing, same way of speaking, that much I know of. And where else are there gypsies around this accursed realm? No, I was warned they were con men and smugglers. I bet they'd lie through their beards if they had any... But you are right cousin, we have bigger problems here right now."
Sep 21, 2016 6:47 am
"I'll remind you, cousin, not to be to hasty judging a mineshaft by the opening. The gypsies are as diverse a folk as we are. Would ye like to be judged by the way the Janderhoff dandies.... Oh, never ye mind, forgot who I was talkin' to, but ye understand what I be sayin'! In any case, I'm glad you see reason."
Sep 21, 2016 4:20 pm
"Let us palaver and get on with this. The only thing making the damnable sickness bearable is killing these foul creatures."

Roland sits to wait for the meeting to start, and begins cleaning his weapons.
Sep 21, 2016 4:45 pm
Over the noise of songs being played, Kayleigh will have heard Roland's commant, looking back at him in realization of what he meant by that.

"So you too huh? I you're still feeling sick, I guess it means that Weiryn was unable to cure the disease after all..."
Sep 21, 2016 4:48 pm
"That is correct. Apparently no one here can actually cure whatever this is, least not that we know of. Hopefully it's not turning me into one of those mindless monsters. If it does you all put me down, asap. I don't want to become part of the problem."
Sep 21, 2016 4:54 pm
"I am still researching it. I hope to have something for the two of you soon."
Sep 21, 2016 6:30 pm
Durgrim raises an eyebrow at this. In the tangle of events yesterday, he only considered his divine powers, not his experience with battlefield medicine. "What caused this sickness? Did ye get bitten by the unholy filth?"
OOC:
Durgrim does have a decent heal skill (not as much as Weiryn, but he does have a +7 modifier) so if he may aid another on the research, he'll be happy to do so.
Sep 21, 2016 6:43 pm
Looking around to see that no one is listening in on them, Weiryn replies quietly, "Bitten, scratched...I have to say, it is unlike anything I've ever seen. 'Tis supernatural in nature, and it is as though the incubation period was almost instantaneous. No build-up of symptoms or anything of that nature...just a fight with the undead and they are sickened. It is my hope that this Madame Eva I keep hearing about can point us in the direction of a cure."
OOC:
Has the innkeeper gotten us a room yet?
Sep 21, 2016 7:16 pm
OOC:
Yes, as you are speaking in hushed tones in an "empty" corner of the inn (nobody seems to want to stay close to the grumpy dwarves anymore) about the symptoms of the disease, you see Alrik ushering some grumpy refugees, but mentions of free drinks seems to brighten their day. Alrik then turns to you indicating that you have a room free upstairs but motions you to try and be quick about it...
