=== Grewhit Gen Profile ===

Always travels with at least two armed guards when outside of his office or residence. If you can seperate him from his guards he is unlikely to offer any resistance.

Has almost daily contact with someone at The Site while at his office. I have not been able to break the encryption of any of the intercepted transmissions.

Makes the trip into his office at the same time [0430] every morning and always takes the same route. Speeder with multiple escorts.

His arrival times to his residence are inconsistent. He residence is guarded and secure.

Has a meeting planned with a Baksed Shipburn of Falu Equipment Repair in two days time at 1145. Reason unknown.

Has a meeting with an Eedha Ormua at Falu Defense & Security in three days time at 0900. This may be trouble, as Eedha works secretly with the Rebellion.

Is hosting Imperials from The Site in three days time in the evening at 1930. Reason unknown.

His men are going to start rounding up people after the meeting with those from The Site, I don't know who the targets are as of yet, but will inform you as soon as I figure something out.

I would suggest taking today to reconnoiter the possible abduction locations and decide where to strike. You may want to stop by FD&S and see if you can talk to Eedha, he may have some information as to why he's being visited.

Remember to contact Mirach Mucecud when you have made your plans.

The above message is received by each of you the day after your meeting with Kyle Bastra.

Falu Defense & Security is one of many high-tech companies located on the far west of town. Known for its technically advanced - and expensively priced - home and office security systems, the company has also been rumored to have a large research and development branch where new technologies are being used to develop a wide range of future products. It's also one of the few companies that haven't seen an increase of business since arrival of The Empire.

The building's exterior is nothing short of amazing. The completely square building is sheathed in what appears to be a high strength, black glass. There are no indications of any windows or entrance ways; save a walkway that leads up to the front of the building, where an automatic door silently slides open as you approach.

The reception area just inside is made of the same material, with the receptionist desk jutting up from the floor. There are several seats in the small room, all of which are empty. A spectacled Twi'lek standing behind the desk smiles as you enter.

"Welcome to FD and S. How may we help you?"
Nov 10, 2021 7:28 pm
"'FD and S'? How terribly efficient. Aren't you at all concerned that someone will confuse you with another business with those initials? Regardless, we are here to see Eedha Ormua"
OOC:
not sure if we shouls try and lie, or charm our way in.
Nov 11, 2021 1:38 am
OOC:
I'm not sure in what capacity Eedha Ormua is related to FD&S. Are they being held prisoner, or do they work for FD&S?
Nov 11, 2021 1:52 am
OOC:
He is an employee of FS&D.
Nov 11, 2021 2:12 am
OOC:
I don't see any reason why Eedha wouldn't see us then, and thus, any reason why we have to pull any tricks.
Nov 11, 2021 8:09 pm
"Luckily there are no other companies in town with those initials, so it works out for us." the Twi'lek smiles back, pecking away at her holo-terminal.

"Eedha, eh? Hmmm... nothing on his schedule today. Was he expecting you?"
Nov 11, 2021 8:52 pm
OOC:
Do we have any kind of code-phrase to identify other rebels?
Nov 11, 2021 9:19 pm
OOC:
You may have discussed one in the past. Possibly Destiny point use?
Nov 11, 2021 9:56 pm
OOC:
Sounds good to me. Flipping a destiny. Hope no one minds.
Tayen is still a bit nervous about her new assignment, but the Alliance prepped her with the latest pass phrases and challenges for identifying other operatives, so she know she has to step up.

Tayen smiles sheepishly at the receptionist. "I'm sorry, ma'am, but we don't have an appointment. Can you just tell Eedha that we have a message from our mutual friend Honduk? Maybe if they have a minute we can deliver it quickly and then get out of their hair."
OOC:
This is a coded challenge. The proper response, which Eedha should know, is "Honduk is a dirty swindler. But I am curious what he has to say."
Nov 12, 2021 2:06 pm
The Twi'lek smiles politely and picks up a communicator.

"Mr. Ormua, there are some people here to see you. They say they have a message to share from someone named Honduk."

Her eyes widen at the response she receives and she puts the communicator back down.

"Doesn't appear that he's a fan of this Honduk person!" she says with a slight chuckle as she gets up from behind the desk.

"Please, follow me."

The sharply dressed receptionist leads you through the completely unmarked building. There are no office numbers, name plates, or even clues as to where doors exist within the walls - she simply walks up to the what appears to be a random place along a hallway and a door opens. You do see what appear to be other employees walking about, but none of them make eye contact or offer any type of greeting.

Coming to the end of a large hallway another door opens, behind which is a technical lab of some sort. The receptionist motions you all to enter before she takes her leave.

"Have a nice day!"

At the far end of the lab stands a very nervous looking Rodian. His hand is within quick reach of a blaster pistol that is holstered to his side. He takes a step forward and says.

"Honduk is a dirty swindler. But I am curious what he has to say."
Nov 12, 2021 5:58 pm
OOC:
Should we just tell him that Gen is going to visit him?
Nov 12, 2021 6:52 pm
OOC:
yeah, let's just be honest and get what info we can, he should know we are cool
Nov 12, 2021 11:04 pm
"Honduk says that you're going to get a visit soon from Gen. What's that about?"
Nov 12, 2021 11:50 pm
Yes, please enlighten us because the people he visits, it either goes very well for them or very bad. Really no middle ground.

Eedha

Nov 14, 2021 9:13 pm
"First I've heard of it." Eedha says quietly, shaking his head. "But it doesn't surprise me."

The Rodian walks over to one of the many lab tables and flicks the switch on an odd looking communications device of some sort. Several of the lights on the front panel come to life and over a speaker you can hear static mixed with an intermittent warbling at different frequencies.

"Encrypted Imperial Comm traffic from that site outside of town. Shouldn't even be able to detect it, but I've been able to get around their TRANSEC protocols, but still haven't broken their COMSEC. Gen knows I've been developing such a thing, damned ImpSymp knows just about everything that goes on here."

He shrugs his shoulders in defeat.

"If he's coming here for me, it's not just to say hello. When is Gen and his cronies supposed to show?"

Eedha
Nov 14, 2021 11:20 pm
"Three days, 0900. What do you plan on doing?"
Nov 15, 2021 8:06 pm
Guy add 'We have plans of our own, maybe we could align them with yours'

Eedha

Nov 15, 2021 11:33 pm
"Wow. Even has a time picked out, huh? That leads me to believe that he's pretty confident that he'll be able to get in to see me. Must have someone on site here in his pocket."

Eedha sighs heavily and switches off the device.

"I'm going to need to hide this, maybe replace it with a fake!? I just don't know. If the four of you already have plans then maybe we can work together to thwart that bastard."

"What do you have in mind?"

Eedha
Nov 16, 2021 10:27 pm
Gurag scratches his chin "Might be able to help with getting this gear out of here. Maybe tonight you forget to lock up properly and you're tragically robbed." he grins "Would at least get that somewhere more secure"

Eedha

szemely

Nov 17, 2021 9:00 pm
"While that's not a bad idea in theory, you do realize you're suggesting robbing what is most likely the most secure building on the planet? Not even sure I could get this thing out of the building undetected. Not saying it couldn't be done, especially with a little inside help, but it wouldn't be easy."

Eedha
Nov 17, 2021 9:14 pm
Having gotten the team in to meet with Eedha, Tayen is now at a bit of a loss as to how to proceed next. She listens quietly to the exchange between her team and the rodian. "So," she says after Eedha comments on the difficulty of moving the device. "If this is such a secure building, how likey is Gen to try to pull something here? Do you feel safe meeting with him and seeing what he says - and just hiding this device if necessary?"

Eedha

szemely

Nov 17, 2021 9:25 pm
"Gen has very powerful connections, which is why he's able to visit places like this unannounced. My best guess would be that he's attempting to see how close I am to having a fully functional device and to learn what he can while making veiled threats to my safety. Knowing that he's coming at least gives me time to prepare. "

"Of course that doesn't help you with whatever plans you had for him. Is there something I can do to help? Least I can do for warning me of his upcoming visit."

Eedha
Nov 17, 2021 9:33 pm
'Hold on, just what is this device, and what is happening at the site? Guy interjects to ask

Eedha

Nov 17, 2021 10:19 pm
"It's a special radio receiver. One that will eventually let me figure out what's going on at the site... once I work out their encryption. I'm sure Gen has some knowledge of what's going on out there and wants to make sure I don't."
OOC:
Eedha has broken the Imperial TRANSEC protocols, which means he can detect their signal, but has yet to break their COMSEC protocols, meaning he hasn't been able to decrypt what's being sent.
Eedha
Nov 18, 2021 6:12 pm
'Well, we can try and stop him before his meeting with you, or we grab kidnap both of you and the device. That might increase your standing with the Empire, if you are captured by rebels.
OOC:
not sure how much we should share with him about who we are or how much we know.
Nov 18, 2021 6:43 pm
OOC:
I'm wondering if we should wait to kidnap him until after this meeting so we can find out what he says when he comes here. We could even try to bug the office so we can listen in. But that puts Eedha at higher risk.

Eedha

szemely

Nov 19, 2021 2:14 pm
The Rodian is clearly shocked at the suggestion.

"Kidnapping!? Isn't that a bit drastic?"

He leans back onto one of the lab tables and starts to slowly shake his head.

"Although..." he quietly responds, having a conversation with him self.

"It would remove one of the biggest threats to Falu's freedom and if I'm taken at the same time perhaps it would keep the Imps from really knowing the whole reason behind it. Of course I couldn't be taken from inside the building, too secure, but if I were out in front of the building, perhaps it could be pulled off."

Eedha lets out a long sigh and steps away from the table.

"I'm in! I can take the time before his visit to try and finish my work. Maybe even figure out a way to get it out of here and too the Rebellion."

Eedha
Nov 19, 2021 8:29 pm
Guy starts thinking out loud 'So we either need an excuse for you to meet him outside this office, or a way to nab you both from here . . maybe hide inside the day before the meeting? Or cause a distraction his security will need to deal with?
Nov 20, 2021 1:19 am
"We have the advantage in that Eedha could choose where to meet Gen. Like Guy said, we could set up a distraction there, and nab the two at that moment."

Kip turns to Eedha, now addressing the part that piqued his interests.

"By the way, would you mind if I help with your work?"
Nov 20, 2021 1:52 am
Guy still continues to talk, mostly to himself. 'Of course that leaves the device vulnerable, but may increase his standing with the Empire. Could be nice having someone in the inside, until the Imps are gone that is.
Nov 20, 2021 9:47 pm
OOC:
What is our goal in kidnapping Gen? I assume that is a means to an end. What's the end? Wondering because it impacts my thoughts about when and how to kidnap him?
Nov 21, 2021 2:42 am
OOC:
If I understand it correctly, the goal in kidnapping Gen is to deliver him to the Rebels, who would presumably get him to spill information about what the Imperials are up to in Falu.

Eedha

Nov 22, 2021 4:52 pm
"An excuse for meeting him outside won't be needed." Eedha replies, a smile starting to form at the end of his snout.

"Gen is unaware that I know that he's due to pay me a visit. I can conveniently be on my way out of the building as he's arriving. It has the advantages of catching him off-guard, keeps you from having to deal the security measures inside the building, and will allow me to act as an innocent bystander."

The Rodian turns to Kip and responds to his offer to help.

"I think our focus for the next couple of days is to figure out how to remove this device from the office without being detected. Perhaps piece by piece?"

Eedha
Nov 22, 2021 8:12 pm
Guy just continues talking, his resource acquisition gears turning 'Well now, that is a great idea, just break it down into components, and then submit the requisitions for those parts elsewhere... Could even throw in some fake ones to throw them off in case they do catch wond of the plan.' He finally looks up at the rest of the group ' As for the kidnapping and escape, well that's the specialty of the other two members of the group'
Nov 22, 2021 9:13 pm
Gurag nods "Trick will be if he's coming down mob handed. A couple of minders with him we can probably handle but if he is coming with a mind to take you and your gear then he might have quite a few bodies with him"
Nov 22, 2021 10:22 pm
"It seems like you're going to be at risk if we go with this plan, Eedha." Tayen says. "If they show up with a really large group, our options will be limited. It's up to you if you want to take that risk. On the positive side, they won't know what's coming. That gives us an edge."
Nov 22, 2021 11:49 pm
Gurag shrugs "Don't matter how many there are to me, if needed I'll try and give you at least enough time to get clear."
Nov 23, 2021 5:56 am
"I would think that even Gen wouldn't show up with a small army in broad daylight. I think it's not a bad idea, given enough prep work."

Kip nods as he considers Guy's idea.

"I think that should work. How about I learn how the device is put together, so I can rebuild it in the worst case scenario?"
Nov 23, 2021 6:13 pm
OOC:
Woohoo! We are doing a (human) heist!

Eedha

Nov 24, 2021 4:40 pm
"I might be at risk, but it's a risk I'm willing to take." Eedha responds to Tayen. "And as your friend has said, it's unlikely that Gen will make too big a show out of it."

"I will plan on exiting the building just as Gen arrives so that you can strike, maybe contact me directly when he's close. It might be best to stun me during the attack, so that I'm not suspected of helping in any way."

He turns his attention to Kip.

"Here, let me show you how the components are assembled..."
OOC:
Eedha is cool with the plan. You have a few days to prepare. Kip should take a 3P computer check to test his ability to assemble/disassemble the device.

What preparations are you making over the next couple of days?
Eedha
Nov 24, 2021 6:44 pm
OOC:
Make sure the FSF is somewhere else at that time, and maybe study the streets so we have our exit route planned.
Nov 24, 2021 7:27 pm
OOC:
Do we want to try to secure a speeder truck that's easy to throw people into? If not, we'll at least need an extra speeder or speeder bikes so we can transport our captives and all of us.
Nov 24, 2021 7:58 pm
We can split up and regroup later if needed.

Mirach could probably arrange for the FSF's convenient absence in the area. We could take some stun grenades or binders from the item cache.

Should we investigate the meeting between Baksed and Gen? I actually think we shouldn't, since failure there could risk tipping Gen off to the ambush.

"Impressive!" Eedha remarks over Kip's shoulder, watching as the device is dismantled and reassembled in record time.

The two spend the next several hours constructing look-alike parts for a decoy device while real device is broken down to easily concealable parts.

"We can take these out over the next day or two, a little at a time and stash them at my place."
OOC:
So we're contacting Mirach? Kyle? Anything that you want to do beforehand? A little recon of the area? Something else?
Eedha
Nov 26, 2021 3:00 pm
OOC:
Gurag would want to scout out the area and try to identify best routes for getting out of the area once we've nabbed the target. Do we have a plan of attack for this other than just 'jump him when he arrives'? We're going to need some sort of transport as well as a secondary vehicle somewhere quiet that we can transfer him over to if we want to try and avoid someone ID'ing the getaway 'car'
Nov 26, 2021 4:29 pm
OOC:
Let's do this. Everyone can make one prep roll - pick a skill and an appropriate action to take with that skill and roll against 2P.

For example, if Gurag wanted to scout the area, he could make a Knowledge (warfare) check. Someone could make a Piloting (planetary) check for escape routes - whatever you come up with. For each success we'll add a boost die to a pool that can be used at anytime during the heist (grabbing Gen and escaping).

You also have two game days to do other things, if you wish.
Nov 26, 2021 6:13 pm
OOC:
Tayen will plan the getaway route with a Piloting - Planetary roll.

Oo. 2 advantages and a triumph. I propose the following:

The 2 advantages are that while examining the routes in and out, I noticed a few important things about the area around the building. This provides 2 boost dice to the "scout the area" roll.

The triumph is that while looking for good spots in the nearby area to pause and swap vehicles, I happen to stumble across someone looking to sell a junker speeder truck for quick cash. Will be cheap. This only makes sense however if we, as a group, have enough resources to buy even a cheap speeder. If not, I can do something else with this triumph.

I like the idea of the advantages being used as boosts for the "scout the area" roll. So, whoever does a scout/recon type roll can add two boosts to their roll.

The Triumph idea is good as well, let’s roll with that and we’ll bank the two successes as Boosts to use during your operation.

Sounds like everything is scoped out. What have Kyle and Mirach been told of the operation?

I feel like we tell Mirach the very basics of the plan (so she has ausinle deniability) and she'll make sure the FSF don't hinder us or help Gen. We have the comlink to call Kyle so I don't think we need to tell him anything. Unless we want to get rid of the package asap?
Do we wa t to have a story ready for how Eedha escapes,
So his cover isn't blown?
Nov 29, 2021 4:54 am
OOC:
We might want to get rid of the device asap. At the very least, we should tell Kyle where to get ready so we can drop Gen and Eedha off once we've shaken the inevitable pursuers, so he can pick them up and get them to his Rebel superiors.

I don't think there is anything else we want to do before the big day correct? Probably not enough time for any of us to be hired as one of Gens bodyguards AND be assigned to him that day?
Dec 1, 2021 10:27 pm
OOC:
We're moving the device out in pieces before The Day, right? After that, I think it's just getting set up on the day itself. We'll station the second speeder (which I assume is "our speeder") at the swap location we picked out. I'll sit it the newly-procured getaway speeder in the parking lot somewhere with a good view of the kidnap spot. Will those of us making the attack be hiding elsewhere near the spot, or will we all drive up in the speeder and have people jump out?

It seems like the safest way to do it is outside. If Eedha is walking out as they arrive, then we make the grab right in front of the building.

Perhaps we should wear masks, in case we're caught on the building's cameras.

Gurag would ideally be close enough to get into melee and start throwing down if needed. Ideally would just be to incapacitate the target but if things turn sour he'd be thinking he could buy the rest of you some time to get away
Dec 2, 2021 8:05 pm
OOC:
Kip can take the pieces to the device and store them someplace. We'll assume it's been broken down enough that there will not be any issues moving it out of the building. Eedha will NOT be able to disable any of the security onsite and has told you that the entire area around the building is under surveillance.

Eedha is planning to be walking outside of the building when Gen arrives.

Your speeder will be at the swap point and the newly acquired speeder is ready to be used (both speeders are unarmed).

I'll assume you've told Kyle of the plan and he would have responded that you are to contact him as soon as you have Gen and he will send you coordinates at that time.

What have you told Mirach?

I'm going to post Gen's arrival tomorrow, we can back-fill any details that may have been missed as we go.
Dec 2, 2021 9:35 pm
OOC:
Let's tell her the basic plan and escape route? Then she can make sure the FSF avoids those areas. Or takes their time if they get a call.

Would it be worth spreading rumors that the Falu Four is going to attack somewhere on the other side of town? Not sure of that would put Gen at ease or have him hire extra security.
Dec 3, 2021 5:21 pm
OOC:
I guess we should get some mask so we look like proper thugs. I'll grab the two stun grenades from the stash (but still won't carry a blaster) if that's okay with everyone?
Dec 3, 2021 9:14 pm
Just before nine in the morning the sounds of speeders can be heard coming up the narrow street towards the Falu Defense & Security buidling. Grewhit Gen a tall, rotund man dressed in fine business attire, leads the way on a custom built speeder that has been painted with Imperial markings. On either side, about a speeder's length behind, rides a heavily armed Mirialan male, one of which is instantly recognizable as Kuvo.

The three come to a stop in the street in front of the building, dismount, and walk towards the entrance. While the two Mirialans are obviously being cautious and looking for anything suspicious, Gen doesn't appear to have a care in the world, strutting up the walkway with confidence.

Like clockwork the front door opens and Eedha hurries out, his eyes focused on the ground as walks toward the trio.
OOC:
I'll give everyone a chance to state their positions and to take any actions if the want. Eedha is a Short distance for the trio and no words have been spoken between them at this point.

I was assuming Tayen would stay in our speeder and keep it running. Probably easiest to just have us all in the speeder, roll up, our combat guys jump out, toss grenade, then try to dispatch the muscle and pull Gen (and Eedha) into the speeder. Then we zoom off. Running into one of the bodyguards as we pull up doesn't sound like a terrible idea.
Dec 4, 2021 12:19 am
OOC:
Haha, no, we are all hands on deck here. We could barely handle one of these thugs before.
Dec 4, 2021 12:22 am
OOC:
Ok then. Roll up. Hit named henchman with speeder. Toss grenade - maybe even both grenades? Then we all jump out and start shooting/punching, tripping over our feet.
Dec 4, 2021 1:30 am
OOC:
How about we interpose the speeder between the guards and Gen to block them off from each other? That way we can just grab Gen and Eedha, and go, without having to deal with fists and stuff.

can't hurt to try it. Either way it's up to Tayen's piloting skill. No pressure, lol
Dec 4, 2021 3:50 am
OOC:
I am pilot. Hear my engine roar!

I'll try to thread the needle between Gen and the henchmen, erring on the side of getting to close to the henchmen. Not sure if we're starting this or not, but I'll throw some dice anyway. I'll do a standard difficulty pilot check. GM can add more negative dice as they see fit. I will add in one boost die from the operations pool, bringing the pool down to 5.
Tayen can hear her heart pounding as the team waits in the speeder for the moment to come. They watch Gen and the goons get off their speeders. Tayen starts moving the speeder slowly into position, waiting for the right moment. Then she sees it - she hopes. "Hold tight, everyone. It's showtime." Then she guns the engine, steering the speeder towards the group.
OOC:
If any of those advantages stand, I'll throw them to whoever makes the first attack.

Already on the lookout for any threats the two Mirialans see Tayen drive up towards them and have just enough time to fire off a couple of quick shots from their blasters, striking both Tayen and Kip in the process. Undeterred the pilot keeps on course and while there isn't enough room between the guards and Gen to get the speeder between them she does the next best them and runs them through, tossing them each a couple of meters forward where they land sprawled out on the freshly manicured lawn.

Gen screams and stumbles forward towards Eedha who draws a pistol and rushes forward, placing himself between the speeder and the obviously scared Imperial Sympathizer.

"Get behind me, Mr. Gen!!" Eedha yells out, firing two quick stuns bolts, both of which fly safely over your heads.
OOC:
I've used the Three Advantage from Tayen's piloting check to strike both Kovu and Jinvu with the vehicle, knocking them both Prone and Disoriented.

Everyone besides Tayen gets a turn, everyone should roll initiative.

Kip takes 9 wound (adjust for Soak as needed).
Tayen takes 8 wound (adjust for Soak as needed).

oof. That's 6 wounds to Tayen, leaving her with 6 wound currently. Can't take another hit like that.
At the last moment, Tayen realizes the speeder can't fit in between Gen and his goons. As she processes this, a blaster shot strikes her chest, throwing her back into her seat. Pain shoots through her body. Gripping the controls tightly, she jerks the speeder towards the goons and plows into them. They go flying, giving her a brief moment to try to regain her wits. She fumbles for the decelerator while also trying to find her blaster. She knows she can't take another blast like that.

Dec 6, 2021 10:50 pm
OOC:
Kip, Guy, and Gurag can still take actions before we get into initiative order.

Kip has jumped out of the vehicle with binders in hands, but still has an action to take if he wants.
Guy is considering two actions (and I never answered @crazybirdman 's range question, sorry about that) - everyone involved in this is at Short range.
If Gurag doesn't take an action in the next day or so, I'll NPC him so we can move things along.

So, yes, Tayen has done her initial bit by slamming into the thugs and knocking them about, and will have to wait until initiative turn order to act again.

Hope that clears everything up. I'll try to make things a bit more clear in the future - I tend to get excited when the posts get interesting and sometime forget some of the details. :-)

Lol, no problem. Luckily we can ask questions if we don't understand, and you always answer quickly. and you did answer my range question already :) so Guy will toss a stun grenade for what it's worth.
Guy doesn't get out of the speeder, hopefully they won't be here that long. Seeing the two Mirialans splayed out on the ground, he decides not to take any chances and lobs a stun grenade in their direction. [gonna take 2 strain to aim twice, and use a die from our pool, dropping it to 4] In a rush, he doesn't even look to see if it hits it's intended targets before he starts talking to Gen and Eedha, 'Gentlemen, would you be so kind as to join us? We do insist.'

OOC:
Kip still has a turn before we get to initiative order. Once he has taken his turn, we'll start round one, with any PC able to take the slot (including Kip)

In order to bind Gen at this point it would be an opposed Brawn or Agility check vs Gen's Brawn (2). I've used 2 of Gurag's Advantages to activate Disorient (so he's disoriented), so there is one left to use, and I'll throw in a free one as well due to him just catching a fist with his face. I've also activated a destiny point for Gen. So, difficulty would be....

Shielding themselves the best they can from the expected detonation of Guy's grenade, the two downed Mirialans watch as the weapon appears to have missed its mark. Their relief is only temporary, however, as they're still caught in the blast, causing both to involuntarily twitch about on the ground for several seconds.

The smaller of the two thugs seems to recover quickly and manages to grab his blaster pistol while righting himself to a seated position. He takes aim at the grenade tosser and jerks the trigger, sending a blaster bolt high and wide.

Able to clear his head just a bit, Gen strikes out at his attacker, punching the large Weequay in the stomach with all of his might. Gurag's lack of reaction to the attack sends a shiver down Gen's spine as he starts to shake his hand in pain.

Eedha, clearly uncomfortable with all of the fighting going on around him, still does his best to make it look like he's an innocent in all of this. He throws down his weapon and screams a high pitched battle cry, charging at Kip and taking a wild haymaker that is obviously more for show than anything else before stumbling forward and landing on the ground.

Tayen pushes through the pain of her injury and pulls her blaster. She struggles to maintain focus as she levels the weapon at Kuvo and pulls the trigger, sending out the circular blue flash of a stun blast.
OOC:
It turns out I forgot that Tayen has padded armor on when I calculated the soak for her last hit. She should have taken 4 wounds instead of 6. This round, she is going to take 2 strain to make an extra maneuver: 1 maneuver to draw the pistol and 1 to Aim. 1 Purple difficulty for short range, but I believe also 1 setback for the target being prone.

That all puts Tayen herself at 8 Wounds remaining and 11 Strain.

Nice roll! So that's 12 Strain damage. I'll use those 2 advantages to give 2 boosts to the next PC. Perhaps the clearly solid shot gives the next ally a boost of confidence, or maybe causes their target to become momentarily shaken and easier to attack.

Let's make our calls when we swap speeders? We can leave Gen in one while we make the calls, and the sort out what happens with Eehda
Dec 21, 2021 2:51 am
OOC:
Sounds good enough to me.
Dec 22, 2021 5:14 am
After a short trip, Tayen pulls the one-time use speeder up next to the team's real get away vehicle. It appears that everything is going as planned to this point!
OOC:
No one has been notified that the grab has been successful to this point
Dec 22, 2021 8:38 pm
Guy steps out of the speeder, and gets the communicator Kyle gave him. 'Excuse me gentleman, I have a call with a buyer I hope will be very happy.'. When out of earshot, he contacts Kyle and says they are getting ready to head to the exchange site.
OOC:
does someone else want to contact Mirach and let her know there may be a dirty cop?
Dec 23, 2021 2:28 am
Kip groans as the chemicals in the stimpack course through his body. Rubbing his sore face, Kip grumbled under his breath, likely grumbling about how it would be less sore had his mask been intact. After stumbling out of the speeder, Kip pulls out the comns device Mirach had given them. Kip makes the call after ensuring that he was out of earshot from Gen.

"Targets acquired, proceeding as planned. The target's goons called someone named Mitzback from FSF to intercept us. Requesting your services."
Dec 23, 2021 3:04 am
Tayen makes sure that Gen is adequately blindfolded for the next let of the journey, then helps get him moved to the second speeder. Once that is done, she turns on the ignition and starts warming it up.
OOC:
I got a lot of holiday stuff going on, so I'm gonna keep this short. I'll check in again tomorrow.
Dec 24, 2021 4:29 pm
Kyle congratulates Guy on a job well done and transmits the coordinates to the exchange site (001, 12.1), which is well outside the city limits, in the grasslands to the north. "Have someone that wants to meet the four of you when you arrive."
"We are aware of Mitzback. Mirach responds. "He and half the force are currently being dispatched to a reported crimewave south of town. I'd advise avoiding that part of town for now."
Gen makes a few idle threats as he's blindfolded, but otherwise complies any and all commands he's given. Eedha continues to struggle, squirming and twisting in a desperate attempt to escape. That all stops when he sees that Gen has been blindfolder. His unending string of expletives, however, continues unabated.
Dec 26, 2021 4:16 am
OOC:
By the way, where exactly are the abductees being kept? Does our speeder have a trunk? Because I'm under the impression that it's a bit of an open roof thing, free for all to look into, which could be a problem.
"Alright. Thanks for the help. Over."

Ending the call, Kip moves to the speeder. Leaning over the pilot's side, Kip whispers to Tayen, quiet enough so that Gen can't hear.

"Avoid south of town, and we should be good."
Dec 26, 2021 7:37 pm
OOC:
Yeah, our personal speeder is mostly an open thing. We probably need to throw something over Gen (blanket, pile of jackets, whatever we have). With Gen blindfolded, we can uncuff Eedha and let them look normal.
Dec 27, 2021 12:38 am
OOC:
The South of town is nowhere near your current location or the rendezvous point.
Jan 3, 2022 9:25 pm
OOC:
Hope everyone had a good holiday! Just bumping this thread...
Jan 3, 2022 9:30 pm
OOC:
I feel like I'm waiting on others to help put in their thoughts about Eedha. But maybe I'm mistaken on that point?

Also, Happy New Year!
Jan 3, 2022 10:06 pm
OOC:
had a good holiday, thanks! I guess if Eedha doesn't want to do anything special, I reckon we can head to the drop point

Eedha

szemely

Jan 4, 2022 8:53 pm
Unsure of quite what you have in mind for him, Eedha takes things into his own hands. Without breaking his unending string of colorful language he starts to grunt as if being manhandled.

"Where do you think you're taking us!"
"Get your hands off of me!"
"Nerfherding son of a ewok!"

He then throws himself into the speeder next to Gen, looks up at you, and motions with his head to get moving.

Eedha
Jan 4, 2022 9:19 pm
Guy looks at his team and shrugs 'Looks like we're all set. Let's go deliver our packages.' he says, getting back into the speeder.
Jan 4, 2022 10:46 pm
"Shut yer kriffing mouth!" Gurag growls at Eedha with a smile before slamming his fist into the side of the speeder "That should keep them quiet for a while."
Jan 5, 2022 12:15 am
Tayen pushes Gen down into the floorboard of the passenger seat of the speeder. "Keep your head down, if you know what's good fo you," she says. Then she pushes punches the accelerator and gets the speeder moving towards their destination.
Jan 5, 2022 8:37 pm
With Gen temporarily subdued, Eedha quietly works himself into a seated position and gives Tayen a wink of approval as the speeder darts off through the narrow streets of Falu. Traffic is fairly light as most of the early morning rush is over, and you have little trouble driving to the northernmost part of the city. Here the narrow streets and crowded architecture open up, revealing the open and rolling grasslands that surround all of Falu.

Continuing through the tall grass for several more kilometers you spot a copse of trees on top of a small hill about half a klick ahead. The exchange site! There are no signs of anyone present there, perhaps by design.
Jan 6, 2022 4:36 am
Although they were close to their goal, Kip doesn't rest. He strains his eyes just to make sure that there's no tricks waiting for them up ahead.
Jan 6, 2022 11:05 pm
Tayen slows the speeder somewhat, so that they have more time to check their surroundings as they pull up to the drop point. But she nevertheless glides the speeder up to the trees
Jan 7, 2022 2:23 am
The well loaded speeder starts to struggle just a bit as it climbs the small incline of the hill. Just as you reach the top, out of the trees strolls a smiling Kyle, hands in his pockets without a care in the world. He's dressed in what is clearly a Rebel uniform.

"Well done! Hibl's security officer has been waiting for a chance to interrogate these scum." He throws a quick wink to Eedha as he stresses the last word of the sentence.

He raises his balled first into the air and out from the trees emerge ten heavily armed Rebel fighters.

"Take the honorable Mr Gen to Utes. She's been looking forward to discussing some things with him. And leave the Rodian with me!"

Two men come forward and roughly remove Grewhit Gen from the speeder. They then half lead, half drag the Imperial Sympathizer into the trees.

Kyle, clearly enjoying the spectacle, waits until he's sure that he's free to talk without being overheard.

"Someone inside that would love to meet the four of you." he says, tossing a small plastic container to Kip.

"Care to see our little operation?" he asks, motioning towards the trees.
Jan 7, 2022 4:29 am
Kip raises his eyebrow at the odd choice of words. Curious, he takes a peek inside the container.
Jan 7, 2022 3:11 pm
Opening the container Kip finds 6000 credits.

"For services rendered." Kyle says.
Jan 9, 2022 12:31 pm
Gurag nods to Kyle with a smile "Sure, let’s have the tour"
Jan 9, 2022 4:42 pm
Kip gives a grunt of approval as he carefully counts and stashes away the credits. He follows the rest to see the operation.
Jan 10, 2022 9:14 pm
"Excellent!" Kyle blurts out excitedly.

"Please, follow me."

Kyle leads you about six or seven meters into the small copse of trees on top of the hill where he motions to an open hatch on the ground.

"Home, sweet home."

A quick climb down and you find yourselves in a roughly cut, dimly lit, octagonally shaped room. There are several control panels against four of the walls, each with two operators seated in front. In each of the four other walls are tunnels which lead further into the hill side, which Kyle points to in turn.

"Armory down there. Small by most standards, but we're just starting here."
"Bunks for those of us who are stationed here for any amount of time."
"Storage. Water and what passes for food for the most part. Some medical supplies as well."

As he starts to point to the fourth hallway, a small male Sullustan in an officer's uniform, followed closely by a muscularly build female Twi'lek exit the hallway and enter the room.

"And of course, HQ."

Kyle throws both a lazy salute before introducing them.

"Captain Nibev Hibl, Lieutenant Utes Arc, may I present the Falu Four!"

The Sullustan nods and greets Tayen in her native language before getting down to business.

"The reason for the Imperial presence on this planet is still a mystery to us, one I hope that our newly captured friend can help unravel. In your pursuits against their influence on your city have you come across any information that may explain their presence here?"
Jan 10, 2022 9:51 pm
Guy scoffs at the question "They are here to do what they always do, take anything of value, and put their heel down on the throat of anyone that opposes them. More specifically? Not really all we know is that is has something to do with 'the site'. Baksed may know more, but he won't turn on his newest and best source of income. " After giving his answer Guy looks around at the equipment, looking for possible upgrade opportunities to sell them later.
Jan 11, 2022 3:21 am
Tayen gives a more formal salute to the apparent officers than Kyle does.
OOC:
I'm assuming Hibl is the Sullustan.
She return's the captain's greeting politely. In answer to the question, she says, "I'm afraid I'm new to this team, so I don't have much information to offer."
Jan 11, 2022 5:55 pm
Kip gives a grunt of greeting. He was not much for ranks and authority. Besides, Guy said what Kip would've wanted to say anyways.
Jan 11, 2022 11:58 pm
Obviously disappointed that you can't offer any more leads as to why the Imperials have taken in interest in Bolygo, his face does light up at the sight of Eedha being led into the room by one of the heavily armed rebels.

"At least we can finally put this man's hard work to use." Hibl declares, welcoming the Rodian with hearty slap to the should.

"You have brought it with you, have you not?"
OOC:
Yep, Hibl is the Sullustan.
Jan 12, 2022 6:54 pm
OOC:
I thought Kip took the device apart and hid it? Do we have it with us?
Jan 13, 2022 5:04 am
OOC:
I assumed that Kip took it apart, and Guy moved it around to a different location. So maybe the Rebels already picked up the different parts.
Jan 14, 2022 6:24 pm
OOC:
Well it would have made sense to have had it loaded into the secondary vehicle so we could bring it with us to the drop
Jan 14, 2022 8:08 pm
OOC:
It can really be where ever you want it. This was meant to be a chance to NOT provide it if for some reason you didn't want to. :-)
Jan 14, 2022 10:52 pm
OOC:
We can trade it for info, but they don't appear to have any info. So just hand it over I guess?
Jan 15, 2022 12:17 am
OOC:
Yeah, I can't think of a reason to withhold it. Besides, Kip now knows the schematics to the device, so he could make it again given the parts.
Jan 17, 2022 8:20 pm
Hibl glances towards Utes who responds with a quick shrug.

"Did you not bring the device?" he asks once more.
Jan 18, 2022 6:35 pm
"Apologies, yes we have the device. AS long as it's okay with Eedha, we'll hand it over. Any chance it will give us insight to what the Empire is doing at 'The Site'?" Guy ask
Jan 18, 2022 8:22 pm
Eedha readily agrees with handing over the device to Utes. Once in her hands, the Twi'lek takes it back down the hallway from which she and Hibl entered moments before.

"It is our hope that the device, along with our interrogation of the prisoner, will in fact help reveal the Empire's plan here on Bolygo." Hibl responds.

"Even once we find out why they're here, we'll have to figure out a way to stop them, and build up enough of a presence here to do so. Any interest in joining up with the Alliance... full time?"
Jan 18, 2022 10:49 pm
Gurag grunts with a grin "Thought you'd never ask. I'm in" he glances to his companions to see what their reaction is to the offer.
Jan 19, 2022 1:14 am
"No thank you."

At his core, Kip simply was a mechanic who had enough of his shop being searched by yet another stormtrooper. If the Imperial presence in Falu left, then Kip would be happy to return to living an honest life, unhindered by any sort of overbearing authority. Just like the good ol' days. Even the mention of the Alliance planning to build its presence in Falu made Kip unhappy. If he could take his freedom with his own hands, he would.

"I've no interest in enlisting, but while our goals align, you have my skills at your disposal" Guy says, hoping this didn't turn into a pep rally.
Jan 19, 2022 3:35 am
Tayen wants to jump at the offer to join the alliance, but holds herself back to see what her companions say. Seems like a mix of feelings, so she decides there's no sense hiding her desires.

"If the Alliance will have me, I'm in."

"It's disappointing that you won't join us at this time." Hibl responds, clearly taken a bit aback by the team's unwillingness to join.

"Let us finish with our interrogation of the man you brought in and see what he knows. It won't be long before his disappearance starts to draw the attention of The Empire, so it's probably best to keep a bit of a low profile for the next few days."

The captain pauses for a moment.

"Any witnesses friendly to the Imps that might be able to identify you as the abductors?"

Hibl
Jan 20, 2022 9:59 pm
"I apologize for our reluctance, but we do have our own goals, and we've managed pretty good on our own thus far. Maybe we will reconsider when the Empire has finally left our home." Guy replies.

Seeing an opportunity to press his case Hibl quickly responds.

"Our mission here is two-fold. Determine why The Empire has such a sudden interest in a planet that offers no obvious strategic advantage and then to remove them! I'm sure our goals intersect. With training and resources provided by the Alliance we can help each other meet our goals; but you would have to join, at least until the threat to Bolygo has been removed."

Fearing he may be pushing a little too hard he backtracks a bit.

"We will still provide what support we can if you choose to act independently. I just ask that you let us know if you're planning something so that we don't step on each others toes."

Hibl
Jan 20, 2022 11:39 pm
"That aside, there were a couple of mercenaries Gen hired. We ran them over, but they're probably still alive."
Jan 21, 2022 9:38 pm
"Ah yes. We had on mask for the kidnapping, but we'd met one of those thugs before today, and they aren't dumb."
Jan 22, 2022 3:23 am
Tayen listens to the conversation, somewhat disappointed that not everyone is as motivated to be part of the Alliance as she is. After Hibi presses harder, she pipes up. "It can't hurt to join up for this operation, can it? Otherwise we might end up getting in each other's way."
Jan 23, 2022 12:49 am
"It could, and will hurt. After all, the Alliance will install their own power base after the Empire leaves. I like it when Falu is run by the people of Falu."

Jan 23, 2022 6:52 pm
"The Alliance has no interest in Bolygo or Falu other than determining why the Empire is here and then removing them. This star system is of no strategic value to either side in this war."

Hibl states in a serious tone.

"Again, all we ask is that if you choose to strike out on your own, without word from Kyle, that you let us know."
OOC:
Remember, it is Kyle who has been secretly feeding you information that has allowed the Four to ambush Resource Teams coming into Falu.
Hibl
Jan 23, 2022 11:04 pm
Kip personally thought that the Alliance's lack of interest in holding Bolygo would probably change once they figured out what was at the Site. After all, the Empire sure seemed interested in a planet that was supposedly of no strategic value. Still, he couldn't deny that it would be better not to antagonize the Alliance more than necessary.

"Alright, if it concerns you, we'll let you know."

Having said his piece, Hibl quickly turns on his heels and walks back down the hall that he entered from earlier.

Kyle simply shrugs.

"Was worth a try. The Alliance is spread thin in this sector and command is trying recruit where possible."

He motions for you to follow him and leads you back out into the woods on top of the hill.

"Might want to lay low for a couple of days. I'll contact with some more information when we get something you might want to act on."

Jan 26, 2022 7:42 pm
Once they are outside and it's just the four of them again, Guy stretches and says "Well, that's another successful mission. What now? See if Merced needs help with the dirty cops? Find the two Mirilains?"
Jan 28, 2022 2:13 am
"I think that Mucecud can handle her end of things. I am concerned about the mercenaries though. You think we should double back and take care of them?"
Jan 29, 2022 1:43 am
Guy rubs his chin while thinking, "'Take care of them' sounds so aggressive, but we probably don't want them to come looking for us, and we definitely don't want them looking for Gen."
Jan 29, 2022 10:39 pm
OOC:
Heading back to Falu then?
Jan 31, 2022 3:52 pm
OOC:
yeah, I don't think there's anything else for us to do here at Rebel Hill
