DarcySukut (is Darcy ok?), you said you wanted to play a dwarf paladin. Is that still the case?
Jlp, you had some character ideas. Have you decided on one? Talk it out here if you like.
Remember to give your character some sort of goal or personal quest. What does your character want to achieve? Give me something to write for you.

I'm going to draw up a sheet for my human warrior either later today or tomorrow along with a brief outline for his history for your approval when you get time. Thank you and everyone else for their patience.

I find that these pbp games require everyone to have some patience. For those fortunate enough to be able to post multiple times a day, good for them. I don't always get even one a day, but I do try to make one a day.
JLP, have fun with the character. Either PM me or put the backstory on the character sheet. Don't forget about the personal goal/quest and consider where you/your family came from. Is your house an old line of Lordaeron nobility? Stromgarde perhaps?

I've submitted the character sheet. I put a brief description of House Ashyld in the notes. Minor house loyal to Stormwind and House Wrynn with holds between Red Ridge and The Burning Steppes. Let me know if you need anything adjusted; I'll do what it takes to make it work.

Looks good jlp! I've accepted the character, just make sure to have that personal goal. What does Ottan want to achieve?
Also, some questions that came to mind after reading the description: House Ashyld is granted stewardship over the area between Redridge Mountains and the Burning Steppes. Does this mean their home/castle is in those mountains between the zones? How much are they connected to the town of Lakeshire?

As for personal goal; Ottan doesn't have a firm, hard 'I want to do X, Y and Z.' As the third son of a noble house, he's been left to his own devices. His brothers are the heir and the 'spare' as some are fond of saying. A third born son isn't as important as his two senior brothers. As such, Ottan has been left to pursue the things he wants. So that's what he's doing. He's looking for adventure, for a cause to join. Being a member of Church or The Silver Hand, or another order of paladins, doesn't interest him. Ottan is looking to make a name for himself, to be recognized and to earn his own fame where as his brothers are defined by their obligations.

As for House Ashyld; yeah, in my imagination, I put them in the mountains and wilderness between the two zones. I saw our version of Azeroth here, in this game, as being less well defined than what is in game. There would be a large bit of wilderness between zones. As for the connections to Lakeshire; Lakeshire would be the largest, closest settlement. Due to the rough nature of the land, the actual roads between House Ashyld's territory and Red Ridge as a whole would be limited. A small road would connect the family's holdings with the road that runs north from Lakeshire and eventually to Morgan's Vigil in the Steppes. Beyond that, there would be trails, some big, but most of them being game and livestock trails connecting the two settlements.

Let me know if that works for you or if you need me to change or modify things.

No need to change, that all sounds good. And yes, there are definitely differences like what you described in our Azeroth.
As for Ottan being left to his own devices, it sounds like he's maybe a bit aimless? I'm trying to think of how to write this out. Knighthood doesn't appeal to him, ok. What about duty? How seriously does he take the protection of his family's lands against the Blackrock orcs? Is that something he goes out and helps with or relies on others for?

Okay, so I spent yesterday at work giving this question some serious thought and here's something I came up with. Let me know what you think.

House Ashyld has three sons. Markus, the eldest. Symmon, the middle. Ottan, the youngest. Markus the eldest is known among the house, its allies and its servants as having a cruel heart. He is a hard man and makes great demands of those who serve the house. Markus is also the obvious heir to the house and works currently in close stead with the sons' father, Riccard. Markus and Riccard are of a similar disposition and both see the future of House Ashyld tied directly to House Wrynn and its current regent, Lady Onyxia.

Symmon, the middle, is known as a kind and good man. Generous, honest, and down to earth. He has convinced his youngest brother, Ottan, that House Ashyld should be seeking allies outside of House Wrynn to assist in the pressure the Black Rock orcs are putting on Ashyld territory and Red Ridge as a region. Symmon does not speak of betraying House Wrynn, merely of seeking allies who will be able to act more immediately than distant Stormwind can with its current political upheaval.

So Ottan is going out into the world to spread the good name of House Ashyld, gather friends and allies, and to attempt to serve the region as a whole.

However, Ottan is not exactly the same kind soul his brother Symmon is. Ottan is much less perfect, and is known to have a hard streak that is similar to that of his father and eldest brother. I'm making sure to include this last part because I don't want Ottan to be some sort of shining knight, but instead something more close to a Lawful Neutral noble than either of his brothers.

How does that sound?

I know there's an "absences" sub-forum, but I don't check it and doubt everyone else does. I'm going on vacation March 4-11. I'll still have my phone to get emails and post, but I'm sure there will be a delay.

Sorry for the wait. This trip has been amazing yet torture. Almost no signal since we've been in mountains and desert most of the time until we find a city, a hotel, and crash until early morning and do it again.

No worries. It's been a rather busy week. I change jobs next week. Instead of working 50-70 hrs/wk, I'll just have 45. Hopefully, that means having a few hours more at home.
I try to be patient. We all have our own pace.
