Gundren raises an eyebrow at
Gerbo's use of a nickname, but continues on with his meal, chatting with
Sildar on and off while doing so, occasionally pointing at the map.
Once everyone has had their share of the food the Dwarf pounds his wooden mug into the table three of four times to get everyones attention.
"
Many thanks to the four of you for coming to my rescue, a debt that I hope will be payed many times over if things go as planned."
He grabs the map and holds it up high above his head.
"
Wave Echo Cave, home to some of the richest veins of minerals a dwarf could hope to get his pick into. It's been lost for near four hundred year, but my brothers and I have found it! Unfortunately, from what I managed to overhear during my capture, a Drow that likes to call himself the Black Spider is also aware of its location and has his own interests in the cave."
Laying the map back onto the table,
Gundren starts to slowly pace back and forth.
"
My brothers stayed to guard the entrance to the cave and with this Drow's interest in the place, I fear for the safety. I plan on leaving this morning to see if they may have retreated to the campsite we used as a base during our initial search. It's well hidden and stocked with provisions. From there I will head to cave."
He stops and places his hands onto the table a takes a deep breath.
"
What I'd like the four of you to do is to head to the cave, see if their are any signs of my kin there, clear the place out. I know it's a risky proposition, and I ain't asking you to do it out of the kindness of your hearts, so this is my proposition. Five percent of the cut on any profit we make once the mine is up and running; for life. Stay on with me in some capacity as we run the mine and your cut goes up to ten percent. We can really build something here, bring prosperity back to Phandalin, and make some good coin in the process."
OOC:
The satchel found in the castle was NOT Gundren's, just the map.
