During Karma's commune in the woods he hears something approaching from directly in front of him. Before he can react, the largest cat he's ever seen appears. Jet black, with large green eyes, and with what appears to be a golden collar studded in gems around its neck, the cat sits just feet away and purrs loudly, tilting its head to the side.

Karma lowers the large white smoking paper roll and stares at the beast. Things move slowly and so do the words from his mouth, "Hey Kitty Dude are you enjoying sometime with nature?" He offers the cat a puff.
OOC:
If the cat doesn't answer Karma casts speak with animals.
Nature check on creature.

Nature check - (1d20+3)

The cat doesn't initially respond, but once Karma has cast his spell the cat starts to communicate.

"Not as much as you are apparently." the cat responds, holding its front paw up to politely reject the offer of a puff.

"I am called Macska. We will meet again." with that the cat turns and starts to walk away.

As the cat speaks it dawns on the Dwarf that it is not actually part of his communion with nature. "That is a cool name Macska, I do hope we meet again Dude." Karma calls after the feline waving as it leaves.

He drops his eyes to the spiff then back up to where Macska disappeared into the brush, "I should start cutting down." he whispers to himself.

The combination of the brightness of the early morning sun and the smell of monring meals being prepared eases you awake after a good night's rest. When you arrive downstairs into the main dining area of the Stonehill Inn you find that instead of the usual packed dining area there is but a single large table set with enough food to feed a small army. Gundren sits at the head of the table where he and Sildar are carefully looking over the map recovered from King Grol.

"Have yerself a seat and dig in!" Gundren says, directing you to one of the seats at the table.

"Let's eat and discuss business."
OOC:
Everyone should be at level 4 and fully rested.

Kerisha thuds down to breakfast after a good nights sleep. She's ticked a few things off her list recently, but there is still much to do. She tucks into breakfast with vigour. Its not often she sees such a spread of food laid out in front of her. One thing she has learnt is to eat well when you can, you don't know where your next meal will come from at times, so make the most of it when you can. She also pockets a few of the rarer items to gift to Qelline and Carp when she next sees them.

Karma’s sleep had been restless after returning from his encounter with Macska, those green eyes penetrating his dreams. He got up early and went to a nearby river for a swim and rinse before joining everyone and finding a seat next to Kerisha.
"Morning dudes and natures blessing." he says to all before leaning over to the HalfOrc and whispers, "Met the strangest Cat last night in the woods, did not want to join me in communion strangely. Anyway, had deep green eyes and a gem studded collar. Did not say much except that it would be catch us later?"
Karma then turns to his plate and starts eating.

Gerbo saunters down the stairs to the table. "Business sounds good. Business sounds like extra funds for extra funs. What're we up to, Gundy?" He leans on one arm and grins widely at Gundren.
OOC:
I'm assuming the satchel was his, right?

Belanor awakes and begins his morning routine. Dressing in his business clothes he's ready for the meetings in the morning.

"Nothing like a day of meetings to greet you in the morning," he says coming into the common room.
"Good morning," he greets.

Gundren raises an eyebrow at Gerbo's use of a nickname, but continues on with his meal, chatting with Sildar on and off while doing so, occasionally pointing at the map.

Once everyone has had their share of the food the Dwarf pounds his wooden mug into the table three of four times to get everyones attention.

"Many thanks to the four of you for coming to my rescue, a debt that I hope will be payed many times over if things go as planned."

He grabs the map and holds it up high above his head.

"Wave Echo Cave, home to some of the richest veins of minerals a dwarf could hope to get his pick into. It's been lost for near four hundred year, but my brothers and I have found it! Unfortunately, from what I managed to overhear during my capture, a Drow that likes to call himself the Black Spider is also aware of its location and has his own interests in the cave."

Laying the map back onto the table, Gundren starts to slowly pace back and forth.

"My brothers stayed to guard the entrance to the cave and with this Drow's interest in the place, I fear for the safety. I plan on leaving this morning to see if they may have retreated to the campsite we used as a base during our initial search. It's well hidden and stocked with provisions. From there I will head to cave."

He stops and places his hands onto the table a takes a deep breath.

"What I'd like the four of you to do is to head to the cave, see if their are any signs of my kin there, clear the place out. I know it's a risky proposition, and I ain't asking you to do it out of the kindness of your hearts, so this is my proposition. Five percent of the cut on any profit we make once the mine is up and running; for life. Stay on with me in some capacity as we run the mine and your cut goes up to ten percent. We can really build something here, bring prosperity back to Phandalin, and make some good coin in the process."
OOC:
The satchel found in the castle was NOT Gundren's, just the map.

Gerbo turns to Belanor dramatically, "You're the businessman, Belly. 5 percent sounds low for doing the hard work and I don't believe he's specified if it's 5 percent each or for the four of us."
OOC:
I didn't see if someone grabbed it, but Gerbo wouldn't have left a bag of cash sitting on the floor, so is it safe to say someone picked it up? I left an equal cut for the others in the bag, so I'm not gunning for it, but I didn't see explicit "I take my cut" stuff in the posts. I just don't want to let loot go to waste.
Jan 31, 2022 10:51 pm
OOC:
We can assume that one of you picked it up.

Karma listens as Gerbo starts negotiations with his Uncle, to him five percent sounded fine. Enough to set up a small animal reserve nearby and live comfortably in the woods. But he lets the Gnome speak his piece as he was still a Dwarf and if he could get a bigger share then why not listen.
Feb 2, 2022 11:18 am
Gundren waits patiently for a response.
OOC:
I assume that Gerbo was speaking to Belanor in such a way that Gundren would not be able to hear him If that's incorrect I will edit this post with his reaction to what he heard.
