"Well, we can definitely put these orbs to good use somewhere along the line!" *sigh* "And that was one of my favourite daggers too!"
OOC:
What about the dagger I threw that did not hit anything? Is is possible to retrieve it?
CosmicKeyring says:
Ilori and Dalaran
You manage to scavenge Ilori's dagger, or at least what's left of it, as well as the charred remains of the goblin's satchel containing five of those metal orbs.
OOC:
Call them what you like, but to use these, make a ranged attack roll against your target. On a hit they deal 1d10 fire damage.

"If it is not too much trouble, I would greatly appreciate it!" :)
Genisisect says:
Presenting the destroyed dagger to Ilori, "I think this is yours. In its state it is useless. I can repair it?"
OOC:
dalaran waits for your response before continuing to the issue of the spheres
Jul 17, 2016 3:43 am
While placing the orbs on the ground Dalaran speaks once more "Dangerous things these, I would not trust them too much. I'll only take one."

OOC:
Blah. I assumed they were the same place. Ah well. I think I'll just do a straight investigation check. That makes the most sense, I think.
Peering inside the arena again, Finneas doesn't see James anywhere. He pouts slightly, wondering if he perhaps misheard, and there was somewhere else he should look to find James. The fighting pits perhaps, on the other side of the facility? He turns and begins to walk.

As he's walking, Finneas at first amuses himself whistling a jolly tune he remembers from his childhood. He soon stops, though, bothered by the thought of the object in his pocket. He instinctively feels at his jacket to check that the object is still there. Is there anyone he knows who might recognise the thing? He finds himself thinking of his sister Filimena. She might have recognised the object. He remembers how, as children, they'd spent hours rummaging around various junkyards in their hometown, much to their father's consternation, looking for interesting treasures to add to their collections. It was a competition, almost, to see who could find the coolest treasures. She was always better at it than he was. If there was anyone who might have seen something like this before, it would have been her. But no. This is foolish thinking. He hasn't seen her in years. And he's probably never going to see her ever again. Finneas gives his head a good shake, trying to make himself stop thinking about her, focusing instead on getting to the fighting pits.

Once there, Finneas looks around inside. Sure enough, there is James, speaking to a human female. Finneas is half relieved to have found James, half annoyed to have gone looking for him in the wrong place to begin with. Rather than heading in, Finneas once again stands at the entrance, hoping to meet James as he's exiting, or to catch his eye should he glance in his direction.
OOC:
Erm. Is it just me, or has the UI changed a bit? How do I post this as my character and not me?

Rolls

Intelligence (Investigation) check - (1d20)

(11) = 11

I get back to my feet, shoving the medic out of the way while sneering at my opponent. Brushing myself off I look around for my fans but the scum have all turned fair weather and leave me standing alone. I hawk a glob of bloody spittle and stalk from the arena my fury and humiliation building

Winona is in the middle of offering the crowd a round of drinks when James pulls her away, grumbling under her breath. "James if you call me that again I'm gonna steal your shins and use them as stilts. And I was just on my way to the bar, dammit! What's the job?"

When Grevvn stomps away his attendant directs an obscene gesture his way. On his way out he sees a halfling gentleman standing in the doorway, apparently waiting for someone.
Jul 22, 2016 12:42 pm
Seeing someone that would be safe to vent the rage building inside me, I stalk over to the halfling. "Hey half-pint, lost looking for yer Momma?" I make a show of cracking my knuckles, popping each one in sequence as I tower over him

Finneas turns and faces the approaching half-orc, surprised. "Who, me?" he asks, pointing at himself. "No, no, no, no, no," he chuckles nervously. "I haven't seen my mother in years! Do miss her slightly, if I'm honest, but I don't imagine she'd be very pleased to see me! Haha! I'm waiting for James, over there!" He points at James, while simultaneously backing up slowly into the room.

Well, we carefully will store the other four on our cart...might be quite useful before all is said and done!
Genisisect says:
While placing the orbs on the ground Dalaran speaks once more "Dangerous things these, I would not trust them too much. I'll only take one."

"The road is yet long, and the sun is still quite high. Let's set of again." The stranger heads his own words and begins to walk.
Jul 28, 2016 7:23 pm
"You've tried that same threat the last three times I called you that. It's starting to get old." James continues to lead her out of the arena. "Something new has shown up outside the walls and our 'benefactor' wants a team to check it out. Nothing out of the-" At this point James notices Finneas being intimidated by a towering, Orcish-looking man. "Hold that thought. Just meet me at the garage when you're ready and the first round's on me tonight." He pats Winona on the back and hurries towards the entrance.

James comes up behind Finneas and stops him from backing up any further before turning to the half-orc. "Hey there, big guy. Having a problem with my diminutive friend here?"

Dalaran
Venia stops in the middle of patching up the bullet wound in her shoulder and turns to the secret robot. "Why are you walking if we still have the wagon?"

James
Winona stomps off in the direction of the bar when you walk away, grumbling something that you cannot quite hear.
Jul 31, 2016 12:01 pm
Dalaran ceased walking, and stood at attention before making a heel turn to face Venia. "How silly am I! I forgot it completely. I was excited!" Returning to the cart, Dalaran still strode with an almost marching gate.

*hiding a smile, Ilori chooses to not say anything...*

I smile at the new arrival, "Problem? Naw... we were just about to have a little fun. Shorty here looked like he wanted to join the glamorous world of pit fighting. Ain't that right, shorty?" He smile shows his tusks as he claps Finneas on the bad hard enough to stumble forward a few steps.
Aug 6, 2016 12:03 am
Finneas manages to catch himself against a pillar, spins around to face both Grevvyn and James, and begins to stretch his arms. "Oh, I don't know about that. Maybe one day, I could learn from you," He says, smiling sheepishly at Grevvyn in particular. "For now it's the pan flute for me!"

He turns to James. "So. Any luck finding people?"

Ilori and Dalaran
Having finished binding her wounds, Venia retrieves a few items from the back of the cart, specifically two small bows that she hands off to each of you, and a large paper scroll that she unrolls in front of you two.

"So here," she points at a symbol on the eastern side of the map resembling a charcoal crown. "Is the Krux and Sons Mining Company, our destination. After that little detour, we can either head directly there through Shatterpoint Gorge," She points out a large area of the map that resembles a series of spiderweb cracks with a large hole in the center. "Or we could cut a path around it. It's safer terrain, but we'd be more likely to run into another ambush."
OOC:
You each have received a shortbow and 20 arrows. Also, each of you make a History check about those proper nouns if your character might know of them.
Aug 11, 2016 3:08 am
OOC:
Dalaran collects stories so he might know something about them...

Apparently not!
