At 3rd level, you gain a +4 sacred bonus on saves against spells and effects from creatures of the aberration type. Allies within 10 feet gain a +1 sacred bonus on these saves. This ability functions only while the paladin is conscious, not if she is unconscious or dead.

This ability replaces aura of courage.

BACKGROUND-
Elias grew up the 3rd son of a minor noble family. With no immediate worries or concerns about inheriting a title or lands, Elias turned to more...physical pursuits. Spending the majority of his time in brothels and bars, Elias quickly became an embarrassment to his family yet they still accepted him. That came to an end when Elias nearly killed the first born son of a rival noble family...in a duel of all things. To avoid the embarrassment and social stigma of the scandal, Elias's family paid the rival family a literal fortune in restitution. Then without batting an eye they cut off Elias and cast him out of the family.

For the first time in his life, Elias was utterly afraid and unsure of how to proceed. Wandering aimlessly in the streets, Elias eventually found himself at the doors of the temple of Pharasma. The clerics took him in, let him get cleaned up, and even eat something. With no obvious prospects, Elias accepted their offer of staying at the temple and entering into the service of Pharasma. While he finally found peace, Elias wasn't content in being a simple cleric or scholar. He excelled in the weapons practice and other combative practices of the order. In a mere few years Elias found himself being ordained as a Paladin to Pharasma.

Knowing that he finally found his niche in the world, Elias set out as a knight errant..seeking out evil in its various forms. One particular harrowing battle shook him up pretty good. Elias was in the final stages of rooting out a cult and destroying it. While he was successful and survived the battle, it came with a cost. Unknown to Elias, the cult leader uttered a curse upon the village before he died. Upon returning to the village, Elias found everyone either dead or malformed into creatures from a true nightmare. With a heavy heart Elias pit down the former villagers and then prayed as he put the torch to the funeral pyres.
