Chapter 4 - Power Vacuum

Be sure to read and follow the guidelines for our forums.

Feb 9, 2022 7:09 pm
It's been two weeks since the abduction of Grewhit Gen and his delivery to the Rebel Alliance cell operating outside of Falu. His dissappearance has led to a full scale, and very public, investigation by the FSF. Daily holo-videoes are released on the current status of the operation, presented by a clean-cut, impeccably dressed Inspector Mitzback. An obvoius Imperial sympathiser, Mitzback does his best each day to give the impression that the investigation is making huge strides in bringing those responsible to justice.

Whaymel has been in contact with you a few times during this period, repeating snippets of discussions overheard while working at his establishment. While most of Falu's citizens see Gen's lack of presence as a good thing, there are more than a few whispers of others seeing it as an opportunity to fill his shoes; Inspector Mitzback's name being mentioned far more than any others.

While discussing your next course of action at Kip's droid repair shop, someone pounds loudly on the locked back entrance way.

A deep, low voice yells out. "Open up! It's the FSF"
OOC:
I put the entire crew at Kip's for the moment. If someplace else works better, we can retro it.
Feb 10, 2022 1:52 am
Kip puts down the excision tool he was cleaning to stand up and walk over to the back door. Peeved, he takes a look through the peephole. If they're actually FSF, he'll ask them what their business is with his business.
Feb 10, 2022 2:09 am
Through the peep hole Kip can easily see that the one knocking on the door is not a member of the FSF. The fish-eyed view distorts the face of the knocker, who once again pounds his fist hard into the door.

"Open up! Now!"

The man takes a step back and the face comes clearly into view. It's Jinvu!
OOC:
Everyone please make a Vigilance or Perception check vs the roll below.

Jinvu continues to slam his body into the door time and time again in an almost predictable manner. Timing the ignition of his fusion cutter at the precise moment, Kip is able to pierce the door with a white hot plume of plasma that burns deep into the Mirialan's shoulder.

He screams out in pain, grabbing at his shoulder as he backs quickly away from the door. After assessing the damage, he redoubles his effort, taking a running leap at the door, hitting it hard enough to cause the door to buckle, knocking the fusion batteries from the cutter as it flies out of Kip's hands and slides across the floor.
OOC:
Between Kip's five threats and Jinvu's three advantages I decided to take the cutter out of the encounter for now. Consider it out of ammo - it'll be fine after this fight.

"Kuvo, you are very persistent, but you have to know this is going to end badly for you. We were ready for you, just like we were when we bagged Gen. 'Why?', you might be asking, because Jinvu sold you out. That's how we've been able to stay one step ahead of you, that's probably why you're in here and he is safely on the other side of a door. Hearing the crackling of the gloves, Kuvo instinctively rolls to his left, leaving the glove striking nothing but air. The agile thug hops quickly to his feet and draws his blaster pistol, aiming it point blank at Gurag's forehead.

"Goodbye." he says calmly, ready to pull the trigger when he hears Guy speaking.

The diplomat's words have an obvious and immediate effect on him; his face drops for moment and his pistol starts to lower, but he regains his composure and directs his anger at the messegner.

"LIAR! he yells, firing a bolt in Guy's general direction.
OOC:
Ok, so I'm going to play the successful Deception check as causing Kuvo to waste a turn (auto miss on his shot at Guy) and a Setback to all of his actions for this encounter.

I would call that an opposed Coordination Check. Difficulty would be 2 Purple 1 Red, but you'd get two Boost; one from Gurag and one more for Jinvu being prone (assuming Jinvu) / Kuvo questioning his place in the universe - depending on who you attack.
Feb 15, 2022 4:27 am
With two foes, neither one of which Guy is equipped or inclined to fight, he decides he has to do something. Guy doesn't carry a weapon but he knows someone that probably has extra. So he reaches out and tries to activate one of Kuvo's stun grenades, since it's already so close to the intended target after all. "What was that?" the Mirialan mocks before rushing Guy in an attempt to extract himself from the situation.

He shoulder charges into the diplomat, knocking Guy back just enough to squeeze to the side. Gurag is able to get his hands on the scrappy thug, but Kuvo is able to bust free. With a clear shot to the front door he makes a break for freedom, only to slam into a customer who was just about to enter the shop.

Gurag rights himself as Kuvo knocks him to the side and turns on his heels. As he collides with the customer Gurag launches himself onto Kuvo with a shout.

If he's unconscious already then I'd say apply it to some beneficial outcome for the 'customer' (they're really grateful that Gurag has dealt with the person they assume is a shoplifter and no will not be calling the local fuzz, something like that).

As of the moment, there is nothing being broadcast over the small communication device that was dropped by Jinvu. The device has the official shield of the Falu Security Force etched into its back.

With one final blow, Gurag puts an end to Kuvo's attempted escape, knocking the man unconscious where he fell. The fallen customer, a young male Twi'lek that has been knocked to his backside, stares at Gurag, mouth agape, after witnessing his assault on the thug.

"Whoooaaa. You guys don't mess around with shoplifters here, do you?"

The young man accepts Guy's help and pulls himself up. He wobbles slightly in place and shakes his head before quickly regaining his footing. He looks down at the unconscious thug and a toothy smile starts to form.

"I'm guessing he won't be repeating anytime soon after that beating."

He gathers his pack from the ground, takes a quick peek inside, and lets out a slight sigh of relief.

"Anyway..." he starts, slinging the pack over his shoulder.

"...I take it you guys are open? I'm looking to mod my little droid here, and was wondering if you could do some work for me."

"Well..." the young man starts, entering the shop.

"I want something attached to my droid, and I'm not quite sure how to get it wired on properly."

He removes his pack, laying it roughly onto the counter. Unhooking the counter he pulls out a tiny, unpowered droid and slides it across so that Kip can take a closer look.

https://i.imgur.com/faxQe01.jpg

"The droid is in pretty good shape, I just need this attached to him, so it will activate on my signal."

With that he produces a small metal block, about the size of small book. It appears to have been marked with some sort of symbol that has been scrapped or etched away. There are two wires on the backside of the block along with some roughly welded on brackets that were obviously not part of original device.

"It's for, uh, tracking purposes." the Twi'lek explains, his lekku twitching nervously.
Mar 3, 2022 11:08 pm
Given the Twi'lek's poorly hidden discomfort and the poorly done hackjob, it seemed that a "risk assessment" was necessary. Kip looks over the droid and the metal bot with a discerning eye, aiming to find out what each was for.

The droid has not been well maintained but appears to be in good shape, it has simply been powered down. While the attempt to remove the symbol on the box was more than enough to obscure it at a quick glance, Kip can quite easily make out the remnants of an Imperial Crest when he sees one. He also knows that whatever this device is, it's not a tracker of any type that he's aware of.

"So, you think you can hook that up?"
Mar 4, 2022 3:11 am
Kip gives the Twi'lek a raised eyebrow of annoyed disbelief.

"I'll consider hooking it up if you tell me what this device is actually for."
Mar 5, 2022 4:03 am
The Twi'lek's blood drains from his face as he realizes that Kip is not buying his story about the tracker. He reaches for his droid and starts to stuff it back into his bag.

"I'll just, uh, go now... this wasn't a good idea."

He stares down at the counter and holds out his hand, waiting for Kip to return the device.
Mar 5, 2022 5:32 am
Kip holds onto the device a bit longer.

"Let me set something straight. Any mechanic would need to know, or they'll have a hard time hooking this device up correctly. I will not snitch on you, even if I choose not to take your job."

Tapping the scraped off Imperial logo with his finger, Kip continues.

"You'll have a hard time finding someone else who'll make the same promise, and a harder time finding someone who'll keep it."
Mar 5, 2022 7:47 am
Guy add from a cross the room "... And an even harder time finding someone that can actually do the job you want."
Mar 6, 2022 7:54 pm
Looking completely defeated, the young Twi'lek's shoulders slump and his head drops forward as he continues to stare at the top of the counter, avoiding eye contact.

"It an EMP device... or that's what I've been told. The Imps put them on their own vehicles. If one of them get nicked, they can activate it remotely and it will shut down vehicle down. I found this one attached to my father's speeder - Imps don't like him - not sure what their plan was though."

He lift his gaze, looking Kip directly in the eye.

"I was just going to have the droid ready to hit the Imps with their own weapon. I wasn't going to hurt anyone, just their vehicle. I promise!"
OOC:
Still have the two Mirialan's to deal with as well.
Mar 6, 2022 10:30 pm
Kip glances over at the others to see what they've done with the mercenaries, before turning back to the Twi'lek.

"...Out of curiosity, is your father important?"
Mar 9, 2022 10:58 pm
Since no one seems to be particularly bothered after he's told the truth about the device, the young man starts to relax just a bit and calmly finishes stuffing his droid into the sack.

"Not really." he replies, slightly shrugging his shoulders.

"Imps don't like him because he won't work for them. I know they've pulled some of his buddies to that site they have - but dad don't want nothing to do with it. What do they want with a bunch of miners anyway?"
OOC:
Sorry for the delay - work has been brutal this week.

The young man considers Kip's warning and takes a few seconds to ponder his options. He reaches into his pocket and throws 200 credits onto the counter.

"Would you be able to hook this up for me?"
Guy's message to the FSF elicits a quick response.

"Understood." a familiar voice answers. "I'll be there in 20 minutes."

There isn't much of interest in either of the thug's pockets.
Mar 14, 2022 5:32 pm
Kip ponders it a bit. He was a bit hesitant to enable the actions of the Twi'lek, judging him to be immature enough to make poor risk calculations and mitigation strategies.

"If you do this, you'll be putting yourself and those close to you in danger. Is whatever you're planning to do with this worth that? If it's just to prank a few Imps, you're better off keeping your nose clean."
Mar 16, 2022 8:12 pm
The young man stares at Kip for a quick moment, before letting out a long sigh.

"You're right." he says quietly, shaking his head.

"It's not going to stop them from doing what they want, and probably would just make things tougher than they already are."

He picks up his pack and slings it back onto his shoulders, and places the device back onto the counter.

"Probably best I don't take this with me." he says, pushing it towards Kip, before taking his leave.

With the young Twi'lek long gone and the thug twins still laying unconscious in the work area of the store, there's a knock at the back door.

"FSF, Sergeant Mucecud here.", Mirach announces, just loud enough to be heard.

"We're here about the packages."

With her is Kiraj'ames'will, the Chiss PC that was first on scene when Mirach's apartment was being investigated by both you and the Mirialan thugs. Curiously, neither are wearing their uniforms.
OOC:
No rolls for basic stuff like that...
Mar 18, 2022 10:15 pm
Kip looks through the peephole to confirm their identities, and then opens the door. The irony of the officers' greeting was not lost on Kip.

"Come in."

He steps back to let them through, closing the door after them. After all, he wouldn't want to let the draft in.
Mar 22, 2022 5:52 pm
"Looks like your friends decided to pay us a visit. Perhaps you have space for them somewhere? We're not really set up for guest here."
Mar 22, 2022 7:12 pm
Looking down at the "packages" Mirach does her best to keep from smiling, but can't hide her relief at what she sees. j'ames'w, however, doesn't even try to conceal his happiness as his bright white teeth appear from his ear to ear grin.

"He sent them after you as well?" j'ames'w asks as he delivers a swift kick to Kuvo's ribs.

"They work for Mitzback now." he adds, landing one more kick for good measure.

He's stopped as he's winding up for a third kick by Mirach, who goes on to explain that Mitzback has been having meetings with Captain Isskar Cronwick from the site, and has the Captain's backing to become the Imperial representative for Falu.

"Basically installing him as a puppet ruler for the city. These two idiots... she says, pulling her blaster and motioning towards the two Mirialans.

"...have been chasing me and others who have been removed from the force by Mitzback. If these two are here, it means the inspector knows you're not a fan of the Imps."

She readies her blaster and aims it directly at Kuvo's head.

"It'll be nice to be done with these two..."
Mar 22, 2022 7:36 pm
Guy motions for her to wait; "Woah! Let's think this through. One, we don't want a mess in the shop. Two, we don't want anyone to come looking for them, especially since we don't know who else knows about us. And three, they might have some value. "
Mar 22, 2022 10:46 pm
Kip raises an eyebrow at the two officers apparent enthusiasm towards the prospect of ending the mercenaries' lives. They must've really caused some trouble, to say the least. Kip wouldn't be surprised if the mercenaries had managed to pick off a few of the officers' colleagues.

"...Personally, I don't really care what you do to them, but not in my shop. Besides, I've got things I would like to ask you about."
Mar 22, 2022 11:40 pm
Mirach pauses, her hand trembling as she slowly moves her finger off the blaster's trigger.

"Bastards! They will come looking for them, and I'm going to make damned sure they don't find them."

She jams her blaster back into her holster and takes a long, deep breath, before telling j'ames'w to secure the two men. The Chiss removes two sets of binders and two dark hoods from his pack. He methodically begins to bind and hood both while Mirach turns to Guy and Kip.

"If they've come here for you, you're not safe - and unlike Gen, Mitzback is not afraid of dropping bodies to get his point across. There's no one left at the FSF to help anymore. We've been weeded out and replaced; at least the lucky ones have."

Crossing her arms in front of her she takes another deep breath in an attempt to calm herself.

"Ask away." she responds to Kip.
Mar 22, 2022 11:51 pm
Kip opened the drawer where he was hiding the comms.

"First of all, we found this on Jinvu. Is it a fair bet to say that this was used to give orders?"
Mar 23, 2022 4:14 pm
We are already trying to get the Imps off the planet, are you going to have to fight the FSF also?
Mar 23, 2022 7:43 pm
Taking a quick look inside the open drawer, Mirach confirms Kip's suspicion.

"Yes, that would be an official FSF communications device. Mitzback isn't even trying to hide the fact anymore and it disgusts me to see that they're being used by the likes of these two. Hold on to it long enough and you may even hear from their handler asking for status."

Hearing Guy's comment, j'ames'w quips, "They're one and the same."

"For the most part, anyway... he quickly adds.

"There are still some good people there, especially in the rank and file, but the leadership will be full on Imperial sympathizers before too much longer."
Mar 23, 2022 10:12 pm
Kip grunts, displeased at the Imperials' takeover of the FSF.

"I see. By the way, do you two know anything about why the Imperials are pulling miners into the Site? I've heard it's more than a 'casual' job offer."
Mar 24, 2022 9:43 pm
Gurag sits to the side, a dark look on his face, before he grunts "We sure these two were operating solo? Seems likely as they'd have had backup by now if not but sending them on their own to nab you...." he nods at Kip "....doesn't make much sense unless they were expecting you to be alone."
OOC:
Sorry for the extended absence all, works kicking my ass at the moment but I'm still here
Mar 26, 2022 3:29 am
"Imps have been recruiting people ever since Cronwick took charge out at the Site, but I haven't heard anything specific about miners." Mirach answers.

"We really need to find out what exactly they are doing out there. Maybe then we could figure out a way to put a stop to all of this."

She walks over to the unconscious Mirialans and tugs at Jinvu's bound arms to see if he might be coming around.

"We could always question one of these two, see what they know, and why they're after you - I think we have some time, they've never been known to work with others so I doubt anyone will be actively looking for them."

As soon as she finishes her sentence, the comm device in the drawer breaks squelch. A deep, raspy voice asks...

"Is it done?"
Mar 26, 2022 3:59 am
It seems like it's time for Jinvu to report in.

"You think we should try and get Jinvu over there to reply? Worst case scenario is that he snitches, which isn't much different than if we don't reply."
Mar 26, 2022 6:23 am
"Perhaps we're better off if someone mimics his voice? A simple 'done' would suffice wouldn't it?" Guy ask. "Then we could see what else they have to say"

There's a bit of a pause, which is just long enough to cast some doubt on Guy's attempted deception, before the voice responds.

"Three? That would be Mister Buckler and who else from the list then?"
OOC:
Another Deception if you wish to keep talking, same difficulty as before, but with a Setback due to the threat from the last attempt.
Mar 28, 2022 9:20 pm
Guys looks around to the others with a slight shrug 'Were they really not expecting him or Gurag to be here? And if not, why weren't they on this list?' he thought to himself before remembering he was holding a comlink with someone on the other end waiting for a reply.
Mar 28, 2022 10:02 pm
Kip has the same concerns as Guy, and plans to find out why he was on the list. It's possible they didn't even know he was part of the Falu Four, and came after him for other reasons. For now, Kip pointed at Mirach and j'ames'w, indicating that Guy should declare them dead. After all, they themselves confirmed that they were being targeted by the mercenaries, and Kip didn't know anybody else who is on the list.
Mar 28, 2022 10:26 pm
Guy gives Kip a wink and a nod of acknowledgment before activating the comm, and going into his 'Jinvu' voice; "Yeah, three. Two others here. We didn't stop to ask if they were on this list, can't do it now . . . Hold on a sec, it's that Mucecud lady and her buddy. D'we get a bonus?!"

"A bonus!?" the voice responds sharply.

"You two were supposed to have eliminated them days ago. Don't push your luck!"

In the background you can hear another conversation being had, it's hard to tell who might be talking but you can make out someone say "Whaymel and his wife will be dealt with tonight."

"You two, head over to Shipburn's place. He'll have a package for me I'll need for tomorrow. Grab it and bring it to me."
Mar 30, 2022 9:02 pm
Guy stokes his chin and thinks about all this new info they've received. There will be a lot to in a short amount of time. He places a hand over the comm and quietly asks of the group in the shop. "Should I end this convo? I don't want to push our luck here."
Mar 30, 2022 10:20 pm
Kip nods. The less that is said, the less that can be messed up.
Mar 30, 2022 10:59 pm
Guy gives an affirmative grunt and turns off the comm. "Sounds like their list is eerily similar to the one you got from those Imps."
Apr 1, 2022 3:00 am
"Yes, it's interesting that Whaymel and Shipburn's names came up again. It seems like we'll have to pay another visit to them."
Apr 1, 2022 4:09 pm
"Yes, protecting Whaymel should be our top priority, let's make sure they're safe. But I don't know how we'll get this package from Baksed, or if it's worth it. Probably not a good idea to show my face there again"
Apr 2, 2022 10:35 am
"Protecting Whaymel and their family won't be simple, if they're going to be 'dealt with' tonight then we need to get them into hiding. Maybe we could enlist our new friends to keep them out of sight for a while?"
Apr 2, 2022 5:11 pm
"Good idea."

Kip turns to the officers.

"Where do you plan on hiding? I hope there's enough space for a few more."
Apr 2, 2022 5:38 pm
"Maybe there is space on Rebel Hill?"
Apr 2, 2022 5:56 pm
"I don't think that's a good idea. If someone follows them to that hill..."

Kip leaves the obvious unsaid.
Apr 2, 2022 9:15 pm
"We have a safe house that we're making use of in the northern residential section of town. j'ames'k, myself, and just a few others know about it." Mirach responds.

"For now, we'll take these two there until we decide what to do with them. After that, we'll continue to do what we can to disrupt Mitzback. We have other safe houses in town, if you do try and save this Whaymel person, we could arrange to hide him and his family in one until we can get them out of town."
Apr 4, 2022 8:17 pm
"Ok, lets warn Whaymel, then figure out how we can get our hands on that package."
OOC:
Can we call him, or will we have to head to his restaurant? Also, can we stop and get some stun grenades?
Apr 5, 2022 8:41 pm
Gurag grunts and shrugs "We know who's got the package so we just go and take it. Kip's already been made by the sound of things so stands to reason the rest of us have, plus after this pair of womp rats disappear and Whaymel dodges whatever they have planned for them the Imp's are going to realise this conversation was compromised anyway. Time for dancing around things has probably passed"
Apr 6, 2022 1:56 am
"Gurag's right, we should do things quickly while they think we're dead. We should probably focus most of our manpower towards the harder task of taking something from Shipburn's greedy hands. I would imagine that we would need only a single person and a few minutes to warn Whaymel anyways."

Kip closes up shop. After all, it seems he won't be taking any more customers today.

"Sounds good. When we warn Whaymel, where should we direct him and his family?"
OOC:
I'm thinking only a single person needs to go to Whaymel's house to send him and his family over to where Mucecud will be. Maybe they go do that, and catch up at Shipburn's place. I'm also fine if we decide to go all together.
Apr 6, 2022 11:00 pm
Gurag helps Kip grab anything they need from the shop Can't imagine we'll be back here anytime soon he thinks to himself.
OOC:
Out of the two locations Gurag would probably be best to hit Shipburn's in case any 'aggressive negotiations' are needed to liberate the package. Maybe one or two of us head there to keep an eye on the place whilst the other(s) get word to Whaymel to get somewhere safe but doesn't move in until we're all together again?

Selecting a suitable location to keep watch on Falu Equipment Repair, Kip and Gurag notice what appears to be normal traffic in and out of the store.

Nothing out of the ordinary.
Two Pantoran children are playing in the front yard as Guy approaches the Lectronfire residence. When they see the Bothan walking toward them they both stop what they're doing and call out to their visitor.

"Hi, Mister! You must be the one the p'lice officer said was coming. He's inside talking to mommy and daddy now." says the smaller of the two.

"You're supposed to go help him when you get here. Daddy said we need to stay outside."

Apr 10, 2022 3:51 pm
After confirming that nothing out of the ordinary was happening, Kip decides to see how Guy is doing by calling through the comms.

"It's calm here. Everything good on your end?"

Apr 10, 2022 8:27 pm

He is panicked, but acts even more out of breath and distressed when he enters the house, in case he need to help sell the lie he's about to tell.

Both of the little ones takes off in different directions, eager to find the best hiding places that they can before Guy opens the front door of the home.

Inside he finds Whaymel and his wife both seated on a couch, worried looks on their faces, as the FSF officer stands in front of them, his back to Guy. Without looking the officer says...

The officer slowly raises his hands into the air when he feels what he thinks is the business end of a blaster being pushed into his lower back.

"Careful, Pal. There's no reason to get carried away here." he says calmly.

The Lectronfires' eyes widen as they watch what is unfolding.

"Quick, go outside, get the kids, and RUN!" Whaymel says to his wife as he stands from the couch. The women hesitates for a moment before darting up from the couch and quickly out the door.

"I don't have any rope..." Whaymel explains, pointing at the officer.

"...but it looks like the good officer here has a nice set of binders on his belt that we can use."

Whaymel moves slowly to the officer and removes his side-arm from his holster, takes a few steps back, and points it at the man.

"Don't. Move."
Apr 17, 2022 4:20 am
Guy says quickly to the wife, "The kids will be hiding." Then he restrains the officer with his own cuffs. "Do you have a closet we can stash him in for now? Then we can discuss our next move."

"Just in the next room." Whaymel responds, leading the way.

The officer doesn't go along easily, but ultimately does as instructed and gets into the closet.

"Next move? What next move?" the confused looking Pantoran asks.
Apr 17, 2022 8:27 pm
After making sure the thug is gagged, secure and out of earshot, Guy updates him on everything, the list, the attacks, the plans they overheard. Apr 21, 2022 12:15 am
Kip after a moment of thought, shrugs and follows Gurag. Even though he thought it was a long shot, it's not like there was a whole lot of risk. If it doesn't work, they would do what they would've done anyways, a.k.a. take it by force.
Apr 21, 2022 7:40 pm
Behind the counter of the empty store stands Baksed Shipburn, owner of Falu Equipment Repair, looking intently at a data pad. He gives Kip and Gurag a quick nod.

"Let me know if you need anything." he says, and turns his attention back to the pad.
Apr 22, 2022 10:56 pm
Well, here goes nothing. Kip keeps a straight face as he speaks.

"We're here to pick up the package."
Apr 26, 2022 7:22 pm
Peering over the top of his glasses, Baksed puts the data pad onto the counter and stands up.

"You're not who I was expecting... Who is it that you represent?" - it's clear from his tone that he is more than a little suspicious - and it's just not his attention that has been gained by the mention of the package.

A familiar face, with a worried expression, quickly peeks out from the work area behind the counter before just as quickly pulling back out of sight.
OOC:
The familiar face is Emma Shipburn.
Apr 27, 2022 10:28 am
Gurag leans on the counter "Look pal, you know it's best not to be dropping any names. We've been keeping an eye on your place here on behalf of our mutual acquaintance and took care of those pests the other day so why don't you stop yanking our chain and hand it over before we decide you're being.....disloyal" he gives Basked a nasty smile at the end
Apr 27, 2022 4:23 pm
Kip decides to play off of Gurag's 'bad cop' act with his own 'good cop'.

"Sorry about my colleague's bluntness. To put it in a nicer way, there were circumstances that led to the change in personnel. If you asked about them, you would end up being more of a trouble to the client than you're worth."

...Well, a certain flavor of 'good cop' anyways.

Haha, I love it. Bad cop, and not quite as bad cop.
Apr 28, 2022 8:16 pm

"I'm going to need a name in order to release the package."
Apr 28, 2022 10:49 pm

Well, looks like we're not getting further without naming names. Should we say Mitzback straight up?
Apr 28, 2022 11:07 pm

Kip sighs.

"We represent Mitzback. Good enough for you?"
May 2, 2022 6:51 pm
"That wasn't so hard, now was it?" Baksed smirks before yelling back to the storage area.

"Emma! Meet these two by the back entrance with the package - I'll let the client know it's been picked up."

"'round back, as usual..." he says, pushing his glasses back on his nose and turning his attention back to his datapad.
May 4, 2022 6:49 pm
In the back of the store you find Emma waiting for you with a rather large box in her hands. It's obvious from her expression that she recognizes you, but she doesn't appear all too happy to see you.

"Didn't realize you two were working for the Imps." she says, dropping the box onto the ground.

The box is roughly a meter long, 20cm in both height and in depth.

She sighs and heads back to the entrance to the workshop.

"Just sad to see how many people seem to be falling in line with them, is all..."
OOC:
Here's what she said during your previous encounter with her...
Quote:
"But.... some people aren't too happy with my father's friendly involvement with the Imps. and some of them feel hurting his business is one way to get back. Honestly their presence in Falu has been great for business, but I just wish Dad wasn't so enthusiastic about his show of support."
May 5, 2022 9:51 pm
Gurag picks the box up from the floor. As he does he looks up at Emma and seems to consider saying something but holds his tongue. As she heads back inside he turns to Kip "We've got what we came for, time to go"
May 5, 2022 10:15 pm
Hmm, she seems more far sighted than her father. I wonder if she has a plan for when things turn south. Kip is drawn out of his thoughts by Gurag's words. He helps lift the package from the other end, and gets out of there before Baksed realizes that he's been duped.
May 5, 2022 10:56 pm
OOC:
Guy will either pull up in the speeder, or be waiting near where it's parked.
May 7, 2022 8:44 pm
Without a word Emma slams the door behind her as she re-enters the workshop. The box is fairly light for its size and nondescript in nature, there's nothing about it that would draw the attention of others while carrying it back to the speeder where Guy is waiting.

Opening the top of the box to take a peek reveals a cylindrical device about 80cm long and 4cm in diameter. Towards one end are three small, unlabeled buttons. At the very end, on the face of the cylinder, is an electrical port where it appears other parts can be attached.

Just as you finish with the quick inspection, the comm device "liberated" from Jinvu comes alive, and the same raspy voice as before breaks the silence.

"Meet me at 236, 6.7 in two hours with the device."
May 9, 2022 6:33 pm
OOC:
does this device, look similar to the one that kid wanted attached to his droid?
May 9, 2022 8:09 pm
OOC:
I does not.
May 10, 2022 12:04 am
Kip lets Guy handle the communications again.
OOC:
Should we bring the device back to the shop so Kip can try and figure out what it is? Or maybe the rebel base?

Also, question for the GM, what location in Falu does 236, 6.7 correspond to roughly?
May 10, 2022 12:29 am

OOC:
6.7 kilometers roughly SW of the town center. This would be not quite as far out as where the original ambush took place - in a hip residential section with fancy eateries and bars. The location is a upscale tavern "The Wired Wookie" that would be closed at the time of the proposed drop off.
May 11, 2022 4:15 am
OOC:
I can't really think of a good reason why we would need to meet up with them, so we could probably just agree to the appointed meeting and ghost them.

Kip drives back to the shop to examine the device before the meeting, while dropping Guy off so he could buy his supplies.

Inspecting the device Kip determines that it contains two antennas, one for transmitting, and one for receiving. The three buttons appear to be for power and two amplification settings. By itself, the device is useless, as the port on the bottom is used to control transmission and reception frequencies within a very narrow range.

Based on the length of the antenna and some of the other internal electronics Kip concludes that this in not a communication device but more like radar equipment.
May 17, 2022 11:04 pm
From his best guess, this device is probably for use in the Site, to help the Imps find whatever it is they're looking for. Other than that, he's not too sure of much else. Kip records the device's specs for later reference, and hides the device away.
May 19, 2022 7:39 pm
OOC:
What's the plan from here?
May 19, 2022 7:55 pm
OOC:

Oh, by the way, can Kip retroactively give Guy some money to buy him some binders? Could end up being useful.
May 20, 2022 8:31 am
OOC:
I have no issue with Kip doing that. I'll move things along later this afternoon.
May 21, 2022 4:23 am
After buying the grenades, and some binders for Kip, he's about to head out when he remembers the items he was supposed to sell. 'One more thing, I have this backpack and toolkit to sell, and I'll only except top dollar for them. Whaddaya say? "

Approaching the area of town where the Wired Wookie is located the first thing you notice is the Imperial presence as squads of Stormtroopers patrol the area. They don't appear to be on high alert, but they do occasionally stop the random citizen to ask for identification before letting them get on with their business.

In front of the closed tavern stand two FSF officers in full gear, along with two Stormtroopers, all four of which are guarding the entrance. Behind you, a short distance away, you can hear three people arguing with a few of the troopers, stating how they need to get to the Wired Wookie to "drop a package off for the boss".
OOC:
Guy still gets the 10% extra, so 35% total on the transaction.

What is your approach at this point? It might be hard to simply watch the entrance of this place without being seen.
May 21, 2022 10:11 pm
Kip wasn't entirely surprised that there were others who were tasked with bringing similar packages. After all, the device he had was incomplete. However, he didn't expect them to have the same meeting place.

He speaks in a low whisper to the others as to not let any outsiders hear them.

"What do you guys think? There's Imps crawling everywhere, it'll be hard to do much. I believe the people behind us also have a package, it might be worth taking it."
May 24, 2022 3:15 pm
"Well, I don't want to risk going in there without a clear way out. But we aren't going to get any information lurking out here"
May 24, 2022 10:44 pm
Gurag shrugs "If we get one of the troopers on their own somewhere we could take em down and get their comms. Would have to be quick but we'd have ears on what they were doing if we need to make a sharpish exit"
May 26, 2022 7:16 pm
"So you want to lure one trooper away? Any ideas on how we do that?"
May 26, 2022 10:04 pm
"It's not exactly easy to do that when they're ordered to patrol in squads."
May 30, 2022 10:31 pm
Gurag's face scrunches up a bit "I dunno, could we shout one of them over? Or maybe we could take two of them down if we got a pair together." he scratches his head "Or we could try and slip through whilst those folks there are tying up the imps"
Jun 1, 2022 12:55 am
OOC:
Would you guys be fine if I spent a Destiny point to use my Utility belt ability? I could pull out something to stick onto the other peoples' package. Surveillance tagger seems like the ideal choice here, being able to track and record audio. If not, then how about sticking one of our comlinks into the other peoples' clothes to act as a rudimentary bug?
Jun 1, 2022 12:58 am
OOC:
That would be awesome! Go for it.
Jun 1, 2022 2:03 am
OOC:
Either of those is good with me.
Jun 1, 2022 4:12 pm
At the mention of the other people, Kip has an idea. He digs around in his utility belt, and finds a surveillance tagger he was working on.

"Alright, I got something that'll work here."
OOC:
Should I roll to stick it on?
Jun 1, 2022 4:45 pm
OOC:
Maybe we can do a combined check, or guy could roll to distract them while you place it.
Jun 2, 2022 5:31 pm
OOC:
Let's do a either a Coordination or Stealth Check (your choice) v 3P. You can do a combined check or a simple boost depending on what works better for the situation.
Jun 2, 2022 10:28 pm
OOC:
I'll go with Coordination with Guy's assistance as a boost, just to speed things along.
Kip walks behind where the people are arguing with the stormtrooper, and sticks the surveillance tagger onto the package when they seem sufficiently distracted.

Jun 2, 2022 11:24 pm
Just as Kip is about to place the tracker, the person holding the package moves unexpectedly, and the tracker falls to the ground, bouncing into the middle of the group, drawing their attention.

"What the hell is this?" a particularly vicious looking Duros growls as he leans over and picks up the device, closely inspecting it.

"Which one of you got tagged? I told you all to check for trackers before we left!"

The Stormtroopers they had been talking to are NOT amused and start accusing the group of being up to no good. They quickly radio for backup.
OOC:
With the advantage I ran with the assumption that they didn't see who tried to plant the device and assumed it was planted earlier and just fell off of one of them.
Jun 3, 2022 1:35 am
Failing to place the tracker, Kip continues walking. Seems like a new plan is needed.
OOC:
I don't think we took the package with us to this stakeout. Not like we have much reason to bring it.

I'm not really seeing another way to get into this meeting, and even if we did, this incident would probably keep the conversation guarded. Maybe we can toss a stun grenade in the middle of the group so we can grab the other package and book it. Might as well get something for our trouble.
Jun 3, 2022 1:37 am
OOC:
so I'm thinking maybe have Guy try to turn them against each other? Try and blame it on the troops, or the delivery Duros? Maybe try to get a comlink from the troopers in the scuffle?

The commotion started by the misplaced tracker grows in intensity as one of the three men being questioned by the Stormtroopers grows frustrated and his temper gets the best of him. With a single wild punch he knocks one of the troopers to the ground in plain sight of anyone watching. The two Stormtroopers and FSF officers guarding the entrance to the Wired Wookie move in quickly to assist, leaving their post.

Seeing your chance, you move for the door, the ongoing brawl behind keeping anyone from noticing. As you enter the dimly lit establishment, you find it to be nearly empty, the exception being a very tall, very muscular looking man standing by a door behind the bar. He watches as you enter but doesn't move.

"Have a seat. Once the other group gets here we'll start." he says, motioning to a large round table in front of the bar.

A food-service droid pops up from behind the counter and quickly makes three identical drinks. He puts them on a tray and rolls over to your table, placing a drink in front of each of you.

"Courtesy of the Inspector. Enjoy!"
Jun 15, 2022 8:41 pm
Guy speaks to his team mates as they sit down "Well, this just keeps getting more interesting. No one will ever say out lives were dull eh?" He stops to think for a bit "If the other group is the guys outside dancing with the troopers, it's gonna be a while."

You sit quietly at the table waiting patiently with your drinks. The large man at the door doesn't move and stares straight ahead. It's clear to Kip that he's hired muscle, and whoever has hired him is certainly getting their credits' worth. He doesn't appear to be armed in any way, but from the looks of him, he doesn't really need to be.

After a few more minutes, you can faintly hear a conversation coming from the room behind the bar. It's calm at first, but quickly escalates to a heated discussion, with someone clearly unhappy that "only one of the two groups made it here on time.". The conversation ends, and the door behind the bar flings open, smashing into the wall. The large man by the door doesn't so much as flinch as the door misses him by mere centimeters.

A short, human male dressed in an FSF officer's uniform steps forward and takes a deep breath, trying to calm himself before he approaches.

"Glad to see at least one of Mitzback's paid group of flunkies can handle a simple job."

He walks over to the table, and takes a seat. Noticing that Kip has not touched his drink, the man grabs it and quickly downs half of it. He wipes his mouth with his sleeve and places the drink in front of him.

"Let's see what you idiots have brought me." he says, clearly wanting to see the contents of what you've brought.
Jun 21, 2022 9:09 pm
Guy speaks up, sensing an opportunity to get more info; "Got your delivery right here." as the officer takes the box he adds "'At least one'? How many 'idiots flunkies' were hired?"
Jun 21, 2022 10:21 pm
OOC:
Pretty sure it was two groups, since he mentioned we're the only one of two that arrived on time.
Kip takes the package from Guy and puts it on the table. He flips open the lid, also taking the opportunity to evaluate its contents.
Jun 21, 2022 10:31 pm
OOC:
yeah, I just want to get the dude talking, and continuing to think we are idiots
Jun 22, 2022 7:37 pm
"Too many" the man responds to Guy's query.

"The inspector puts far too much faith in the criminals and thugs that he hires to conduct business." he adds before realizing that he's probably said too much.

The man starts to reach into the box as soon as Kip opens it, grabbing the device from within. It's a small device, several inches wide and almost a foot in length. There are a couple of knobs and a digital readout on the face and a connector on the top.

"Useless without the antenna..." he mumbles, giving the piece of equipment a quick inspection before placing it back into the box.

"Mitzback had wanted me to pay one the two groups to deliver the full device to the dig outside of town, but as it looks like the other group hasn't arrived, I guess I'll have you three take what we have out there and I'll have some of my officers track down those other idiots."
Jun 22, 2022 8:05 pm
OOC:
I'm thinking we should offer to track down the other package, either for the money, or maybe to get more info. But at least we know what's in the box we stole. Maybe we should try to figure out what's in this one? Or should we just get out while we are ahead and inspect the site?
Jun 23, 2022 2:38 am
OOC:
I'm not too sure what kind of info we can get from offering to search for the other package. Might as well get to the Site and see what's up. Maybe we could take a short detour to the shop to put together the two pieces just to see what it does, and then take it apart again.
Jun 27, 2022 7:12 pm
"Well?" asks the officer, waiting for a reply.
Jun 27, 2022 10:31 pm
Guy replies with just the slightest bit of attitude, hoping to impress the officer "Well what? Do you want us to track down the other idiots? If so, best you make an offer first. If you need someone to make a delivery, I don't see anyone else volunteering"

"An offer!?" he exclaims.

"Tell you what, I'll call ahead and have a little extra something waiting for you upon delivery."
Jun 28, 2022 10:17 pm
As always, Kip is impressed by what Guy could do with a few words.
Jun 28, 2022 11:06 pm
Guy moves to casually take the package they delivered, making sure to show no interest as to what's inside. "Alrighty, If there's nothing else, we'll just head out then." As soon as the three are outside, and out of earshot of any guards he breaths a sign of relief.

But getting access to the site may be more valuable, assuming we can move around there unseen a bit." Guy says, stopping to actually think for a while before continuing. Easily connecting the two parts together, Kip starts to inspect the device as a whole. The knobs are used to independently and precisely adjust both transmission and reception frequencies over a very narrow band. With the device powered on, the screen lights up, and with some minor adjustments it's clear that this device is a tracker - with the current vector pointing directly to The Site. A few more quick adjustments and the direction of the vector moves, this time pointing in almost the opposite direction to a location roughly 60 klicks outside of Falu.
OOC:
The officer wanted you to take the part that you have to the site while he has some of his own men track down the other group.
Jul 4, 2022 5:21 pm
OOC:
Oh, and the extra money he offered was just because he liked Guy's audacity. Got it, I thought we were hired to look for the other group.
Obviously, this device was meant to help find whatever was in the Site.

"Hmm, interesting. I expected the signal from the Site, but there's also another one outside of Falu. I wonder if the Imperials know about that one."
Jul 5, 2022 9:56 am
Gurag scratches his chin looking at the readings "Do you think it's worth checking out this other location? I can't remember hearing about any real Imp activities over there"
Jul 7, 2022 4:18 pm
"Perhaps. If it's the same thing as whatever's at the Site, it would be good to find out what it is. I wonder if we would need any special equipment to extract it though, seeing how much effort the Imps are going through at the Site. Well, with the tracker, we won't have an issue finding it at least."

Shall we hop in the speeder, and head to this mysterious new location then?
Jul 13, 2022 7:02 pm
With the tracking device pointing the way you pile into the speeder and take off across the high-grasslands outside Falu. The closer you get to the location, the stronger the signal that the device is picking up becomes, and Kip has to make several quick adjustments to the sensitivity along the way to keep from overpowering the scanner.

After just over an hour you arrive at the location indicated by the device. On initial investigation there doesn't appear to be anything different in the surroundings than what you experienced for the vast majority of the trip. An empty, flat grassland. The signal that the tracker is receiving is nearly off the charts, even on the lowest sensitivity setting.
Jul 14, 2022 12:35 am
Kip's initial guess is that the mysterious object is underground.

"Hmph. I certainly see why the Site is employing all of those workers."
Jul 14, 2022 2:49 pm
"If it is there must be a way down there. Lets take a look about, see if there's any sign anyone else has been movin about round here"

OOC:
Maybe perception to see if there is a manhole cover somewhere . . uhm . . in the grass?
Jul 14, 2022 6:03 pm
OOC:
Feel free to make any checks/rolls you feel appropriate. Assume 2P difficulty and I will adjust if needed.
Jul 14, 2022 6:05 pm
There doesn't appear to be any sign of anyone, or anything, being in this area for a long time.
Jul 14, 2022 6:22 pm
Guy looks around to see if anything looks odd or out of place, even looking up to the sky at one point.

The area is indistinguishable from any other part of the grasslands outside of Falu. The only thing that marks its significance is the continuing pings from the device.
Jul 15, 2022 12:24 am
"...You think we'll have to dig? All I got are a couple of grenades and a fusion cutter."
Jul 15, 2022 6:28 am
"Does the device only give you latitude and longitude? Can you adjust it to also tell us how deep or high it is?" Guy ask, even if that's not possible he's hoping Kip may think of something that is
Jul 15, 2022 4:28 pm
OOC:
The tracker was described as showing a vector to the mysterious signal. Would that vector point down if the signal was underground?
Jul 15, 2022 4:51 pm
OOC:
The display shows both vectors and distance, and yes, the vector would point down. At your current location the vector is not pointing down at enough of an angle to have you believe that the source is that deep underground.
Jul 15, 2022 4:55 pm
Kip tries walking around with the tracker until the vector is pointing straight down. When that happens, he'll try digging with his hands.
Jul 15, 2022 5:54 pm
As he starts to dig Gurag puts a hand on Kips shoulder "Donā€™t think yer gonna get very far like that. This thing seems to be showin whatever itā€™s tracking is pretty deep. Why donā€™t we have a drive about a bit further out and see if we can find a tunnel or something"
Jul 15, 2022 6:31 pm
"Do we have any idea how big this thing is, whatever it is? Are we looking for a base or a box?"
Jul 15, 2022 7:19 pm
Walking through the tall grass with the device, Kip watches as the vector on the tracker quickly oscillates in multiple directions, including straight down. Whatever this thing is tracking it is in the ground all around you.

Picking a favorable spot where the grass isn't as dense, he starts to dig into the moist ground with his hands. The first couple of inches are nothing more than normal dirt, but digging deeper Kip notices that his fingers are starting to coat with a metallic pink dust.
[ +- ] Pink Dust
Jul 15, 2022 11:40 pm
Kip sits up and rubs the residue between his fingers.

"Huh. This is familiar. Wasn't this on the Site tools from Baksed's shop?"
Jul 15, 2022 11:58 pm
"Yeah, he was getting paid to clean and repair parts covered in the stuff. So that sensor finds the dust? Perhaps this is another potential site for the Empire?". Guy thinks for a bit... "I can't imagine they were interested in the dust though, maybe it signifies something else of value is here"
Jul 16, 2022 1:36 am
"Maybe. I've never seen this kind of dust before, though."

Kip holds a handful of the dust and waves it around the tracker to see if the vector follows. If it's not the dust that's creating the signal, then it's definitely something else that the Imperials are after.
Jul 16, 2022 3:19 pm
The tracker does not follow Kip's hand when he waves it about, the vector still quickly oscillating between different points in the ground.
Jul 16, 2022 6:29 pm
Kip goes ahead and takes a sample of the dust so he can look at it later.

"Signal's not from the dust. So something else definitely is down there. What now?"
Jul 18, 2022 5:31 pm
Guy grumbles a bit 'I fell like we need more information, and The Site may be the only place to get it.'
Jul 19, 2022 12:26 am
"I don't know, I feel like there's still more that can be done here. If we had the tools, we could probably dig to it, but for now, why don't we just drive around like Gurag said? I can probably get a sense of how big this mysterious object is if we do that."

The tracker could probably be used to estimate the rough dimensions of the object by looking at the directions of the vectors and their intensity in relation to the tracker's position.
Jul 19, 2022 9:08 pm
"Makes sense, and I'd rather take our time and search here instead of a place crawling with Imps"
Jul 20, 2022 8:53 pm
Driving about with the tracker gives you a better impression of the area. Whatever this thing is tracking covers an area just over a square kilometer, with certain areas reading slightly stronger than the others. It's hard to get an idea of just how far deep the tracker is pointing, but when traveling outside of the area a distance of more than 50 to 100 meters, the tracking vector appears to point back at the area in a rather flat plane.
OOC:
Not sure I'm describing this well, but your characters would guess based on the readings that it wouldn't take digging more than a couple of feet down to find something.
Jul 20, 2022 10:52 pm
"Hmm, if we really try, we could probably dig to this mystery object right now. It's something very large though. I'm having a hard time imagining what could be that big."
Jul 21, 2022 1:24 am
OOC:
anything in the speeder we can use to help dig?if not, Guy will start digging with his hands
Jul 21, 2022 1:31 am
OOC:
Was going to suggest flipping a destiny point then noticed they were all black. *evil laugh*
Jul 28, 2022 12:47 am
Kneeling down, Guy starts to dig into the ground with this hands. As it was with Kip, after the first couple of inches of digging into the moist ground, Guy's fingers start to coat with a sticky pink dust.

Pushing on, he continues to dig, the pink dust now staring to cover the lower portions of his forearms. Finally, just a few inches deeper, his hands scrape something solid. A rock, which at first appears to be just a normal, generic rock, but this one is perfectly round, and has small seams of an opaque, pink material running through it.
Jul 28, 2022 3:58 pm
Gurag grunts "Maybe these things scan for certain types of mineral deposits. Would make sense given the size of the area it's picking up on. Shall we just get as much of this stuff as we can and see if we can make sense of wat it is back at the safe house?"
Jul 28, 2022 5:16 pm
"Yes, let's."

Kip takes a couple. Enough to be able to hide easily if needed.
Jul 29, 2022 7:36 pm
Guy will dig just a bit more to make sure they didn't miss anything before joining the other in the speeder.
Aug 11, 2022 8:08 pm
Guy finds a few more of the stones of varying sizes, all perfectly round, and all with seams of the same pink material. As he is finishing up, anywhere on his body that is covered with the pink dust starts to tingle just a bit - not enough to cause pain - but enough to feel it.

Back at the safe house you have a chance to study the stones a bit more and can detect a small amount of energy being radiated from them.
OOC:
Is there anything specific anyone would like to try with the stones? Assume you have enough samples to play around.
Aug 11, 2022 10:03 pm
Kip'll try to crack one of the stones open with a hydraulic press, both to see how strong it is, and what it looks like inside.
Aug 11, 2022 10:15 pm
Guy would leave Kip to his devices (literal and figurative), and head out about town to discreetly see if there are any rumors about this stuff. What it is, who wants it, what's it worth etc.
Aug 13, 2022 2:54 pm
Under the pressure of the press the round stone starts to crack just as one might expect. It doesn't present much of a challenge and the entire thing is flattened to a fraction of a millimeter before a bright flash of pink light fills the room. Examining the remains Kip finds that there are portions of the flattened disk that are nearly transparent, with just a hint of pink. Even more interesting is that material appears to be quite flexible.
Walking the streets of Falu without trying to draw too much attention to himself, Guy is unable pick up any interesting information from what conversations he can overhear. Pushing on he sees a group of low ranking Imperial officers having a meal in the outside dining area of local diner.
OOC:
Any other experiments or tests that Kip would like to perform?
How (if at all) would Guy like to approach the situation?
Aug 14, 2022 9:57 pm
Gurag sticks with Kip whilst he's testing the rocks with a curious look on his face "For a second there I figured it was gonna go bang, especially with the flash. Looks funny though, you figure it could enhance explosives or something?"
OOC:
Gurag isn't very science minded so he'll be mostly hanging out to provide an extra pair of hands if Kip needs them
Aug 14, 2022 10:53 pm
"Interesting hypothesis. I'll run some more tests."

Kip hands Gurag the flat disk.

"I have a scale over there, measure the difference in mass between this pressed material and the fresh samples. Let's figure out how much of it converted into that flash of energy."

As for himself, Kip will break off a chunk of a sample. He'll first try and get an energy reading off its stable state, then run electricity through it and get a reading off of that.
Aug 15, 2022 6:27 am
OOC:
we are outta destiny points right? I'd love to bug the imperial table. I don't see another low-risk way to get info from them.
Aug 19, 2022 7:31 pm
The experiments reveal a few interesting things: 1. The weight difference between the measured samples are negligible - if there was any mass loss due to energy conversion it is at a scale that is practically immeasurable. 2. While electricity flows through the un-pressed samples freely, with very little measured resistance, the flatten sample seems to absorb it, dissipating it slowly over time.
OOC:
Yes, out of Destiny Points - I need to do better at using them, so expect a bunch of upgraded difficulty checks in the future.
Aug 19, 2022 9:41 pm
OOC:
oh well. Guy could try and charm these guys and hopefully get some info, or not risk it, and just head back to the shop

Kip looks at the results with curiosity.

"Interesting. Both the pink powder and the transparent byproduct have strange properties, so I'm not even sure what the Imperials are using this for."
OOC:
Could I make a education roll to get more insight as to the material's usage?

Rolls

Knowledge (Education)

1 Success, 5 Advantage, 2 Failure

Total: 1 Failure, 5 Advantage

Aug 23, 2022 8:06 pm
OOC:
Kip can not think of any practical application of such material at this time. All he knows is that in its 'preprocessed' form, the pink material offers very little resistance to the flow of energy, but behaves completely opposite in its other state.
Aug 25, 2022 7:19 pm
"Well, in any case, it's pretty clear what the Site is for, excavating this mystery material. What now?
Aug 25, 2022 11:20 pm
Gurag shrugs "Well, if we know what they're objective is then we have a bit of a better idea where to hit them that might cause most disruption to their op here. Could see if we can find where they're storing any of their excavation equipment and perform some....'maintainence'"
Aug 25, 2022 11:48 pm
"I like the sound of that. I'm also curious about where they're sending the materials after they take it out of the ground. That would give us a bit of an idea about what the Imperials are using the materials for."
Aug 26, 2022 4:02 pm
OOC:
Everyone would recall that some of the equipment had been serviced at Falu Equipment Repair.
Aug 26, 2022 4:30 pm
OOC:
wasn't that dude just cleaning the pink dust off? I got the vibe he didn't know what was happening, and was trying to ingratiate himself to the Imps.
Aug 26, 2022 5:16 pm
OOC:
He was cleaning and maintaining them. Just pointing out a location where the group knows the equipment has been in the past (and may be some in the future).
Aug 27, 2022 12:54 am
OOC:
Wow, Baksed can't take a break from us. I think we could try and figure out where the equipment is going by following it after Baksed's finished his maintenance. Thoughts?
Aug 27, 2022 4:01 am
OOC:
That sounds good, although it may just go back to 'the site', looks like we may end up there to get answers either way
Nov 9, 2022 8:45 pm
OOC:
So you have a device that can locate this mysterious pink ore - you have discovered what appears to be an unknown field where this ore could be mined. You know that Baksed maintains/repairs some of the equipment from the Site. You know where the Rebels in this area are located. You've been tasked with delivering part of the device to the Site (but are late at this point).

We can follow one of more of these leads, OR we can jump ahead in the future a bit to start a new chapter, and can fill in some of the blanks needed for the new chapter.

Thoughts?
Nov 12, 2022 12:40 am
OOC:
i feel like we have to visit/investigate 'the site' eventually. So we can do that. Or just give the device and the intel to the rebels and skip to the next chapter.
Nov 13, 2022 6:19 pm
OOC:
Yeah, the Site seems to be at the center of it all. Kip probably wouldn't agree with giving the Rebels the device, but maybe we can ask them for help infiltrating the Site.
Nov 15, 2022 9:47 pm
OOC:
You would have an easy time contacting the Rebels if that's the way you'd like to go.
