Happy to have a creature of nature helping down below ground, the Cleric feels not such a freak as his fellow Dwarves would have him believe. "Lead the way Macska, though Kerisha and Gerbo better lead the way." Karma says as he shifts in his armour which rattles and clinks.

Gerbo raises an eyebrow, but complies. "Yes. Following the magic kitty seems like the best plan. "
May 27, 2022 4:12 pm
"But.. " Belanor weakly protests as he continues to rub his face.

Belanor will fall into the rear I guess.

Sneaking along the channel you come to edge of wide, deep rift in the floor that fills the eastern half of a large cavern. A stream pours out of the west wall, then tumbles into the rift and flows out again to the north. Several ropes are secured to iron stakes along the western edge of the rift, leading down to the chasm floor.

As Macska had stated, a male Drow and three bugbears are in the cavern. Two of the bugbears are at the bottom of the rift, twenty feet below, clearing rocks from the stream, while the third is having a quiet conversation with the Drow near the northern most steps along the west wall.

Kerisha starts to get a bit excited, remembering how she missed out on the chance to have a crack at a bugbear a while ago. Now there are three! But the team are a bit battered and bruised, and even she is still aching in places. She looks to Karma and Macska, hoping for guidance.
OOC:
What do you guys think? Take them on or back track another way?
May 29, 2022 11:20 pm
Karma looks at the chasm between them and the Bugbears, "This might be a bit deep to keep the element of surprise on these hairy dudes of negativity. Shall see if that door heading west gives us better mojo?"
OOC:
I say we back track head west out of door 8 and hopefully come around above the on the stairs.

Gerbo rubs his chin, fiddling with his belt buckle with his other hand. He whispers to the others to try to accentuate the need for quiet. "Yeah. Could work better that way. Let's go. I think I saw a door back there."

When they arrive, he'll check the door and surrounding area for traps, before having a go at the lock.
OOC:
He will wait until everyone is ready to go in. DM, what are your thoughts on requesting help IC? I wouldn't do it after a roll, because that's metagaming, but would you find it out of line for me to ask someone for a light or help looking for traps or something to get the help action?

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+2)

(1) + 2 = 3

May 30, 2022 3:46 pm
OOC:
Asking for help IC is just fine - I have no issue with it. Depending on the help we could add modifiers or advantage as we see fit.
May 30, 2022 3:47 pm
OOC:
Also remember that Gerbo has listened to the door marked 8 before....
Quote:
Listening quietly at the door Gerbo doesn't hear any noise coming from the other side.

OOC:
present and/accounted for. Belanor has no input for this other than we should get someone else to handle the execution.

I bet the old tunnel #1 probably leads that way. But that's a lot of back track looking at the map.

I feel like #8 would be some kinda of supply closet of sorts. But that's the first best option I can think.

OOC:
Karma has guidance and Resistance as Cantrips, so always feel free to add these to your dice as you wish when we are wondering around.

OOC:
What's the plan?
Jun 2, 2022 10:16 pm
Gerbo readies his crossbow, grabs the handle to the door and pulls it open.
Jun 2, 2022 11:12 pm
The door swings inward just a fraction of an inch but moves no further. Gerbo can hear a muffled grunt and something scrapping across the floor behind the door as it slams back shut. It's obvious that the door has been barricaded, and whatever is on the other side has no intentions of letting anyone in.
OOC:
The door opens into the next area, so I just assumed Gerbo realized his mistake and pushed.
Someone could attempt to open the door via a Strength check if they want.
Jun 2, 2022 11:12 pm
Karma places his heavily armoured self at the front of the group, ready to face anything behind door.
OOC:
Cast guidance on himself and scans the rooms as the door opens.
OOC:
Lol posted at the same time.
Karma raises and eyebrow as the door slams shut, "There is a cranky dude behind this one. Some help?" Karma points a dirty finger at the door as he moves forward to push on it.
OOC:
If Kerisha pushes on the door karma will give her assistance as well as cast guidance on her.

Rolls

Perception check - (1d20+1d4+3)

(11) + (2) + 3 = 16

Jun 3, 2022 8:34 pm
Kerisha cracks her knuckles, then her neck as she steps forwards. Adopting a low stance, not wanting to be shot, stabbed or skewered by whatever is on the other side, she readies her door bashing shoulder. Its still a little tender, and a more sensible person would use the other shoulder, or a boot, but Kerisha sticks with her tried and tested method. Karma pats her on the shoulder to signal the go, and she feels a wave of positive energy flow through her as she drives forwards.

Rolls

Strength check - (1d20+3)

(10) + 3 = 13

Guidance from positive vibes - (1d4)

(4) = 4

Jun 4, 2022 2:49 am
The force of Kerisha bashing into the door pushes it forward no further than Gerbo's previous attempt. Once again a muffled grunt is followed by the sound of something scrapping across the floor before the door is slammed shut.
OOC:
The door will not be able to be opened via force at this point.
Jun 4, 2022 6:27 am
"Well looks like we go the long way dudes, unless one of us can talk the door open."
Jun 7, 2022 9:51 am
Kerisha is mildly irritated that she has caused her shoulder to be sore and hasn't been able to force the door open. Talking has never been her strong point, but she always though bashing doors was, so with nothing to lose she grunts back to the voice in goblin "No, not undead. They gone. And flaming skull gone. Open door. Let us in."
