Initiative is over, however darkness still shades the ceiling above. The way forward is covered with fire, luckily those who were on fire were put out and safe.

being an elf means I only need 4 hours meditation to get the same benefit as 8 hours sleep (phb page 23, Trance racial trait) so I'm assuming I can do that just sat out of the way....I'll go with the general consensus whether we're having a long rest or not, definitely need a short rest thoughI don't think Trance replaces a long rest, it just gives you more time awake and aware. Explains it better.

Yeah sorry, didn't mean it would only take 4 hours for a long rest but rather that I wouldn't need a bed to rest in (just had visions of him satcross legged in the corner of the tap room for a few hours to get his 'sleep' in) the main thing I was querying was whether as a group we were taking a short or long rest - sorry if it implied something different
