Unknown NPC

You do seem tense she answers to Sharagwyn, but when Nebula mention she is a dancer, woman relaxes
Hah dancers, that explains a lot! Now, Sharagwyn from the Silvermoon and all of the other foreigners, you must admit you look suspicious. My scouts she waves approximately in the direction where Ha'aroo saw someone told me you have a barrel that smells of no wine.
I wouldn't even ask you how much days do you hope the water will stay fresh int here, but I'm expert at medicine and could check you health for you if you wish

Woman introduces as a priest of Mielikki and here duty is to prevent undead coming closer to Port of Nyanzaru. Based on what she says here mission is to observe undead activities and report back if undead comes closer to the city.

She also explain you what was suspicious about you: all of the travellers who travel along the river are using canoe as it allow to make twice the distance. She had to make sure you are not delivering any substance to help undead develop and is happy to find evidence that you are just strange and unexperienced jungle adventurers.
OOC:
I will allow you to interact with woman in parallel to any further activities I will be describing, but I assume you don't fight or try to rob priest, so one way or another conversation ends and you move on, while priest gather her scouts and proceed into the jungles

Ape
You rest during the hot mid-day and continue your journey. You are tired but happy about your progress and start to look for place to camp when you stumble upon two apes who are eating banana on the trees. You notice them at the moment when one of them makes high sound and a few more join.

They are about 25 feet high and 50 feet away from you in the direction where you are going.

Ha'aroo thanks them for their time and asks them if they have any new advice for someone that is not used to this jungle and if there is anything special with this that is unique to this jungle and not common in the jungles of Faerun.

As they progress further and notice the monkeys he observes them happily until they call out and another joins them. "I dont like this" At that motion Ha'aroo takes out his Lyre and strums a tune while casting sleep on the apes.

"Sorry guys, I got a bit nervous. A few is nice but too many of those could get quite deadly and I got nervous."

Jim only courtesy talks the priestess of Mielikki and really never introduces himself. He leaves it at unexperienced jungle adventurer.

Upon seeing of the apes. Jim just steps next to his mule in a protective way as he puts away his machete and draws out a longsword. Appears he is preparing himself for combat. Jim only knows those apes could be dangerous and probably are. Obviously, he has some concern for his mule and supplies.

Before they take their leave of the priest (she just calls her Holy Mother, hoping that's the polite term of address), Shara will ask for advice like Ha'aroo does, as well as the checkup that was offered.

When the apes appear, Shara is unnerved, but more confused by the party's reactions, as if they face a dangerous threat. "These creatures are just local fauna," she tries to convince them. "I seriously doubt they could pose very much of a threat."

If Ha'aroo's sleep spell doesn't work as planned, Shara offers to cast it herself ("at the risk of upstaging you," she jokes), but still doesn't see why they should get so worked up.
OOC:
Despite Shara's nonchalant opinion, I, as the player, realize that this is probably meant to be a combat encounter. I think it would be best if we didn't provoke the apes and just tried to go around.

Travers introduces himself to the priest but otherwise just keeps an eye out on the jungle.

Once the apes come to view, noticing how nervous Ha'aroo and Jim are he walks up to the closest party member and mentally prepares himself for a fight just in case.

"i don't know.." Nebula says worriedly. "If they think we're intruding.. maybe they will attack if they see us as a threat..." *Nebula takes out her rod just in case. "I don't think we need to hurt them, I hope, they're not at fault" Nebula says, thinking the plan to put them to sleep is a good one.

Ha'aroo agrees to keep walking but is ready to cast again if the start attacking

While all PCs are preparing for possible encounter they observe
1) One of the apes descend the tree moving closer and grab a sized stone, preparing to throw at you, the other does the same. Meanwhile 4 more apes appear on the trees an all of them are crying aggressively
2) Their mules stop and do not want move an inch. Only Nebula's mule seems scared as it try to run away - in a direction opposite of the apes.

Nebula: you could either try to hold you mule rolling a str check against mule or release it and let it run. I need your decision and str check roll if you decide to hold it.
OOC:
(you could check the roll of mule to decide, because you feel the strength of it. you could do that before initiative roll). If you roll and fail your position will be changed to 15 feet away.
Since you notice and understand that the two forward apes are throwing stones at your PC could try to react, which means we are
OOC:
ROLLING INITIATIVE
Anyone who rolled higher than apes should also (within next 20 hours or immediately as you want) submit their first round actions!

Battle map added. All of the green are difficult terrain if a creature move below 10 feet, apes higher than 10 feet don't have any difficulty moving by the jungle trees.

Jim action it is to dodge. He will step in front of the mule/donkey that is to the left of him so as to protect it. As he does this, he removes his shield from his backpack to defend himself. He yells out "Don't do this." without any hope they understand. He doesn't raise his longsword but it is firmly in his hands. Seeing they have rocks he is more than willing to try to dodge them or deflect them with his shield.

Jim is full fighter mode as combat training has taught him.

Shara, feeling threatened, casts mage armor on herself. As she says the magic word, ball of wispy blue light forms in her palm and spreads like smoke around her robes. The twinkling arcane mist feels refreshingly cool compared to the muggy jungle. Shara then prepares to flee under the attacks of the apes.

OOC:
I've added Undril to the battle map (edited one above) and rolled initiative for her. Spoiled her HP for your convenience.

Undril is looking at the party questioning What do we do now? And she start casting a spell, while waiting for your instructions/behaviour

Action: ready action - prepare spell casting, trigger any PC suggest to attack apes.

OOC:
Also numbered apes so you can easier pick targets
Forgot to narrate that Spell sleep did not have any visible effect on the Apes: neither any ape fell asleep nor any ape otherwise reacted to the spell
OOC:
Note: if you would cast that spell against i.e. humans I would call for initiative and casting the spell would be resolved in the first round of the combat as humans would know you are casting a spell... unless you make them believe you are casting a harmless spell before you do that.
