OOC:
it is Sunday and I still don't understand if any player intend any more actions in this place, so I will give you another 24 hours before I push you forward toward next camp.
May 22, 2022 4:54 pm
Jim is ready to follow Ha'aroo led to the next camp.l (Readjusting my backpack again.. :)..)

Jim does get the bullseye lantern back and drops it in his backpack as his wooden case is filled to the brim. Ha'aroo can keep his machete for slicing and dicing.

Ha'aroo is a bit disappointed in himself and hopes this is not the ruin that is near undead that might have the soulmonger that Syndra was talking about. He mutters under his breath "Please dont die Lasme due to me not figuring this out this trap." and he shuffles off to get ready to look for another spot that the soulmonger may be.

Ha'aroo turns to Nebula after she mentioned about crawling on her bellies. "Thats a great suggestion i was thinking the same thing and was looking to see if there is any part of that room that the blades do not reach but somehow the blades reach every part of that room."

Before leaving he will search through section 5 of the camp since that is the only place in the camp that has not been searched yet.

Ha'aroo approach pits (numbered 5 in map - there are two location actually) and realize those used to be used as latrines. In one of the 4 he discovers a dead body partially visible out of the dirt.
OOC:
OK, I will delay pushing game forward for yet another 24 hours: I did not see every player response and I've just realized there are two boats, I would like to hear if you continue on foot or chose to use the boats
May 23, 2022 8:41 am
"Thanks Ha'aroo" Nebula smiles and follows him outside.

"Ew. This place smells!" She waves her arm and holds her nose. "If you grab an arm, maybe we can pull this guy out together and check what happened to him. I wouldn't think he chose to be buried in a toilet by choice!"
May 23, 2022 10:20 am
OOC:
Sorry missed to describe this
The pit is 10 feets deep and you could see based on pit walls that the human who is there were trying to get out , but couldn't (walls are slippery due to dir and besides they are made at an angle - pit's lower part it 10x10 feet, while upper 2.5x2.5 feet for obvious reasons.
OOC:
You certainly can't reach him with an arm, but getting him out would be a task that could fail, you could only get dirrty and stinky, so whoever trying to pull him out roll me a d20 and decribe how you do that, I'mm chose appropriate ability check for that add your modifier and we will see if your PC stink for the rest of the day or not
May 23, 2022 3:04 pm
Ha'aroo removes much of his gear as to not get dirty and ties a rope around his waste and ties the other end to a nearby tree. "Anyone care to help lower me down?"

Jim is there and picks up the rope. You know that isn't really safe.
May 23, 2022 8:15 pm
With Jim and Undril holding the rope Ha'aroo gets down in the pit and realize there is that man wearing suit of scale mail that makes him rather heavy and a warhammer.
Ha'aroo do a dexterity (Sleight of hand) ability check and tell me if he is trying to get out only a man or also a warhammer.
May 24, 2022 5:36 am
OOC:
I will retrospectively resolve situation with dead body after player roll , there are no encounters associated with latrines investigation
The team continue their march toward toward camp Vengeance.
Day 18

successfully move forward

Day 19

Lost again

Day 20

Still lost, now you are even more unaware where have you got

Day 21.

You decide continue moving in SW direction, but still can't manage to get back on track

Day 22
It is storming today. Navigation is hard and you are already quite unsure of where you are.
https://i.imgur.com/4p1YMT5.png
OOC:
Now situation is getting hot as everyone is angry about inability to navigate and weather is such that any movement in a day 22 would require DC10 con save or getting level of exhaustion.
Now is the moment when I would like to ask players if they want to change anything in their navigation tactics: change navigator, change peace (your PCs not realize that slow slow peace would allow navigate somewhat easier), stop and try to understand where you are?
Actually I've decided that if you stay and do not move from hex you could split and everyone split group have navigator to roll survival to determine position on the map. But in case of random encounter your split group would be alone to fight
So what do you do?

"Perhaps we should camp and spend some time regathering our bearings. We don't want to get too far off track" Nebula purposes.
May 24, 2022 6:07 am
Jim adds in, This is going to wear down our supplies if we can't keep on track. Perhaps I should go back to leading us through the jungle here. Looking again to slicing and dicing with the manchette and someone leading his mule.

I second the idea of setting camp and taking the day to rest and regroup. Between the shrine and traps and the weather over the last five or six days, I think we're all running a little ragged. Pacan says, a hint of tired dejection in her voice. Let's rest the day and start off fresh tomorrow with fresh eyes. And maybe move a bit more carefully? At least until we're not so beaten down?
May 24, 2022 4:27 pm
First Ha'aroo lifts up the Warhammer and then after that has been lifted out and then he will lift out the body.

After he is lifted out he asks Sharagwyn Sagelight "Were you able to find anything in that building you were looking at?" As he nods over to area 3 that she was looking at earlier.

"Would anyone want to use this hammer? I imagine we can even make a hole in the back of the temple from the outside. It may take a week or two but if the soulmonger is in this ruin then mission accomplished. No one has been able to get in it looks like and there was undead near here just like we were told about earlier."
OOC:
DM would it take that many days if we dont decide find the soulmonger by making a hole in the back of the ruin since the boats are faster right?

Retrospectively - at the camp area 5
Ha'aroo manage to get out the body and warhammer and find pouch containing five assorted gemstones (10 gp each). Scale male is ruined and party burry him to Undrils great satisfaction. I'm adding gemstones and warhapper to here
Ha'aroo got dirty, but it washed off soon as you have to cross some waters and the rain helps as well.

Back at camp
Day 22

You decide to stay at the camp and wait next day... Jim suggest to take lead on navigation.
OOC:

Party current plan: go by foot to the camp Vengeance
Party strategy: Ha'aroo is navigator and you move at normal peace. When lost try to continue moving SW

I need most party members to express they want to change anything to the plan to adjust it. As for now Jim have suggested to make him a navigator. I need other voices to back it up
I need at least 3 players to announce any other changes to the plan to implement it. For example if you find a canoes I need 3 players to say that they want to take canoe instead of go by foot.

Day 23
It is raining heavy but storm is over and you could continue your journey. There are a lot of argues if Jim or Ha'aroo should navigate party and the mood of the party is terrible.
Nevertheless Ha'aroo has finally managed to understand where they are and update the map (the hext you are in were unexplored but you know it's just jungles as always have been
Everyone is happy and there are no more talking about who is navigating at least for now.

Day 24, 25, 26
You spend next 3 days to finally get to camp Vengeance without any further issues
Quote:
Through the foliage, you see a crude timber fortification—a walled compound with watchtowers and tents inside it, encircled by a ditch bristling with sharpened stakes. A large gatehouse faces the river, on the shore of which are four rowboats tied to a wooden post.

Scattered around the fort are piles of charred human corpses and flayed animal carcasses swarming with flies.
Undril introduce herself to the guards and your party get into the camp and met the templar in charge - a devout worshiper of Tyr named Niles Breakbone.
OOC:
Undril will abandon your party from now and you need to decide where you go next
You could also ask any questions to Niles Breakbone.
You could stay in the camp for safe night

OOC:
Sorry those are details I should have provided with previous post
The camp is ringed by a water filled ditch lined with sharpened stakes backed by a stout, 12-foot-high log palisade. The depth of the ditch isn’t apparent because it’s perpetually filled with muddy water. The spikes are too big to be effective against undead but they’re dangerous to Large and Huge beasts. The gatehouse is heavy enough to withstand a charging triceratops, and the gates were only opened for you when Undril's identity was confirmed by an officer (you had to wait for a few minutes for him to arrive).
Oficer - dwarf Ord Firebeard accompany you to the command tent (6) where you will meet the man in charge (Niles Breakbone).
While waiting for Breakbone to let you in you observe the situation:
The knights stationed here are disease-ridden and exhausted from their constant battles against giant jungle carnivores by day and undead horrors by night
(5) are Field Hospital Tents - there are 10 heavy wounded soldiers in those tents. The acolytes tending the sick are themselves so ill and exhausted that they can’t make effective use of their magic. Undril immediately use all her magic power to cure 7 of them before she runs out of magic power
(4) four sickly goats in the animal pen
