Wordlessly, Malethor sweeps out of the tavern, half a step behind Skeinkakdr. The revenant keeps abreast of the goliath once outside the door.

Outside the Cuckold Moose...
The goliath and revenant exit the tavern, the others still loiter at the bar. It was dark outside, however the moon provides a bright and elegant light. Neither have trouble seeing the wagon stationed a few meters away, though Malethor has no issues in the dark. The streets were quiet and any patrons from the tavern were nowhere to be seen, minus one man smoking up against the tavern's wall.

The tavern faces an open road that leads west to Neverwinter. There are no established roads the go any other direction.

Gellbran exits the tavern and nods at his two new companions as he makes his way to the front of the wagon, excited to begin a new adventure after days without any action. He checks all his equipment and makes sure everything is in order for the travel ahead as the three of them wait for the rest of the group to leave the tavern.

I watch Malethor as he stomps off. "Not one for humor or sarcasm, that one." And not too bright, either. "Come, Ebri. How do you feel about breaking some guards and getting some answers?"
Aug 17, 2016 3:44 am
Ebri, not really understanding what they were doing, or what where they would be going, she nodded and fell in line behind Xhava.

"Skeinkaldr," says the goliath by way of introducing himself to Gellbran. "What's your name and what do you do?"
Aug 17, 2016 8:58 pm
"I am Gellbran, I was once a soldier but am now an axe for hire. Judging on your size I think it's safe to assume you too know your way in combat." Gellbran was usually the largest person around so it was strange for him to have to look up to someone while speaking with them. The Goliath's size gave Gellbran confidence in the mission they were about to undertake together.

Gellbran stared at Malethor for a second, unsure of what exactly he was looking at, and then noticed two more of the tavern's patrons follow him out the doors. "This is looking to be quite an interesting group."

The group was loaded in the cart with Gellbran guiding the horses. The roads are dark, yet everything shines from the cool silver moon. The few who have dark vision keep watch without any strain on their eyes. Neverwinter was only a short ride away. No more than four hours to the front gates where the caravan was ambushed.

OOC:
Okay guys, say where you will be on the travel to Neverwinter. Tell me what you are looking out for and are thinking. If you have dark vision make a perception roll, please. :)

Skeinkaldr travels alongside the wagon, walking much of the way as he is used to the nomadic travel. Lacking darkvision, he uses a torch to light his path.
OOC:
Could Perception be rolled with a torch?

OOC:
Of course, make a perception check as well. Torch light isn't the best, but it will definitely give you a shot of seeing further. Anyone using a torch make a check, or as log as you aren't too far off of the Goliath's position.

When he clawed his way back from the grave, he who was once Joab Galar became a creature of darkness. The revenant's unblinking gaze scans its surroundings as it keeps pace with the wagon on the opposite side as Skeinkaldr.

The goliath considers the road to be just as wild as the mountains from which he hails, so Skeinkaldr keeps a watchful eye for not only would-be predators, but also prey.

I walk behind the others, whistling as I go.

Gellbran prefers guiding the wagon at night due to his dark vision. He keeps his eyes ahead, so far nothing seems out of the ordinary, but still he knows danger may be lurking. Red cloaked thugs were something Gellbran had never ran into before, so he did not want to underestimate his enemies. All that was known about them was they made a habit of ambushing caravans, so he kept an eye out for anything resembling a trap.

On the road to Neverwinter...
The wagon's horses trotted along the dirt path, making Gellbran's job quite easy. The path seemed quiet and nothing seemed out of place. It was only a few hours ago the half-orc traveled this path, and the others have been on this road before. Xhava's whistling filled any silence in conversation between the group. The natural tune flowed through the night air, harmonizing with the crickets and the occasional bird.

The Goliath's torch radiated a light just off the set path, it lit just enough to see a potential attacker coming from the brush. As the wagon hopped over a fair sized stoned, it's wheels clunked. By an old fallen tree, the wagon's sounds frightened a Barn owl with tattered feathers as it hunted a small mouse. It flapped its wings hard when taking off from it's missed late night snack.

The revenant seemed to match the moons sliver glow, his deathly skin was as mysterious as the moon itself. He noticed nothing abnormal to his side of the wagon.

Ebri stays close to Xhava as she her eyes flicker from either side of the wagon. She quietly hopes they don't run in to too much trouble. Very bad things tend to happen when they do.

I continue talking at normal volume, not caring if anyone outside our group hears me. "Dead of night. My favorite time of the day. Although a bit too quiet for my liking."

Skeinkaldr instinctively sniffs the air.

Continuing on the trail to Neverwinter...
Xhava's chatter seemed to make the deep of night sail smoothly. Though noisy, her carelessness brought a calm to the group. The Goliath's instinctive sniffs invited a steamy, relaxed wind from the large horses leading... or it may have been from Gellbran, Skeinkaldr was unsure. The horses continued trotting regardless as the trail became a soft painted canvas of blurring green and blue. Ebri's worries may settle with the almost meditative journey thus far.

The group has been traveling for less than four hours, and all is still quiet. The trail led straight for another half kilometre then would fade up a hill. Some of the group recognized this section of trail, knowing Neverwinter was not much further.

On top of the hill looking out at Neverwinter...
The group reached the top of the hill and were no more than a few hundred meters away from Neverwinter's north gate. The hill is high enough to overlook the walls into the developed city, only several houses or buildings were lit with candle light.

The group haven't seen any noticeable tracks from the thugs, however their potential directions can be predictable. This is the gate Delrick mentioned his caravan was ambushed at. The scene is all clear now and the guards don't seem to be on high alert. Everyone except Xhava takes notice of the two guards stationed in front of the large reinforced wooden gates. The guards haven't yet spotted the wagon, but any closer and their hypnotic gaze would break. Working the night shift is tough, it changes a man.
