The goliath's rage cannot be sated through whimpering words, not that Skeinkaldr could hear them anyway with his blood thundering along his veins. He tucks in his frame and charges the guard at the door, looking to shoulder-check him away from the door and through the adjacent wall.

Shoulder-Charge (Athletics) - (1d20+5)

(5) + 5 = 10

Skeinkaldr charges the defeated guard, each step shaking the furniture in the room. The guard braces for impact, though nothing would prepare him for the power of a Goliath. Skein can hear the cowards ribs crack as his shoulder dents the man's chest plate. The hit send the night guard flying into the adjacent wall. Puffs of structural dust cloud the air, though the wall stands strong. The Goliath now blocks the door completely as he straightens up from the charge.

The guard tightly winces in pain, holding his cracked ribs with both arms.
OOC:
Player turn! Guard has basically given up and seems to be waiting his death.

Gellbran saw Skein go into the barracks with the final guard so he knows he was not coming out alive. Not knowing what to do with all the adrenaline still pumping through his body he decides to try and climb up the side of the stone barracks.

Rolls

Athletics - (1d20+6)

(15) + 6 = 21

With amazing athleticism, the half-Orc begins climbing the side of the barracks. He was moving too quick to realize how high the building stood. Though a challenge, Gellbran made the 30 foot climb to the top. The barracks roof was a staging ground for obvious defence of the wall. There seemed to be only one door that accessed the roof and it was attached to the city's wall. The actual wall was still shadowing over the barracks by another 15 feet. The door was not reinforced like the one below, however it was locked.

Skeinkaldr grabs the guard by the chest plate and brings him up face-to-face. "We asked you a question!" roars the goliath, and he tosses the man out the door to the others by the wagon.
Sep 17, 2016 8:15 am
The guard was moved effortlessly, despite weighing over 200 pounds plus equipment. Dirt puffed up in the moon's silver glow as he scraped against the ground and fell in front of Malethor and Xhava. Gellbran can see an aerial view of the commotion and the top of the Goliath's head. Skeinkaldr was nearly a third the height of the barracks and looked ridiculously large standing near the dead bodies.

The rag dolled guard avoids eye contact with the group displaying an ashamed looked on his face, "We turned a blind eye to the ambush.... Fuckin' Roldin took the bribe, now the idiot is dead." the guard chuckles at how stupid he felt, "Not sure who paid us, but they weren't one of the cloaked thugs, those guys are too stupid to know what a bribe even is..." The guard looked at the group now, trying to gauge how pleased they were with his answer.
Sep 19, 2016 7:41 pm
"Is that all you can tell us?" I casually prop my boot on the body's head.
Sep 22, 2016 5:01 am
Sighing with a defeated undertone, he puts his hand against his head thinking of more details. "Um-yeah, yeah.. I heard the thugs have a small camp just off the southern road. A halfway spot between Phandalin. Their group has never been a real threat around here, it's only recently they've been more organized." The guard stood up slowly, staring at the group with soft eyes. "I don't know anything else... I swear." he sounded genuine.

Gellbran takes aim with his crossbow, the head of the defeated guard his target. He fires a bolt from atop his perch.

Rolls

light crossbow attack, damage - (1d20+5, 1d8+3)

1d20+5 : (7) + 5 = 12

1d8+3 : (6) + 3 = 9

The perched half-Orc lined up the killing shot, crossbow cranked back hard. The docked bolt flew across the night sky, shimmering in the moon's presence. Gellbran was no marksman though, as his bolt deflected off the guard's armoured shoulder. The ringing noise from the impact spooked the guard, he began running off towards the wagon's direction.

OOC:
No initiative still, he's just dipping lol.
Sep 22, 2016 3:40 pm
"Small camp off the southern road," repeats the barbarian, his rage subsiding in light of the recent news. "We heading there now?"
Sep 24, 2016 3:05 pm
The group was gathered around the dead guards, with only Gellbran watching from his perch having his crossbow out. No one seemed to hassle him for the missed shot. The last guard was heading back the road they came and would soon disappear passed the moon's glow.

The Goliath was ready to track down the thugs' camp which shouldn't be too far south. Going around the city's walls would take too long.
OOC:
You guys can continue on, if you're done here. Feel free to write what you do while traveling and make an appropriate roll for anything you want to do along the way. Track, look around, ect.
Sep 24, 2016 5:34 pm
Gellbran see's the group getting ready to begin travelling again and decides to make his way back to the ground. It is quite a long way down but he is confident that his strong legs can absorb the impact of the fall.

OOC:
Perfect

OOC:
Just so I get my bearings, do we have to go through the city to get to the south road? If so, is the gate to the city open?
Sep 24, 2016 6:35 pm
OOC:
A entertaining event in front of Neverwinter's gates...
Gellbran confidently hops off the barracks' roof, not realizing a thirty foot drop was decently high. Mid flight, the half-orc attempts to tuck and roll, but instead propels his legs directly at Skeinkaldr on the way to the ground. With the force of a drunken dwarf's dropkick in a scrappy tavern brawl, Gellbran unexpectedly knocks the Goliath to the dirt after an uncontrollable womanly scream. The rest of the group watched the spectacle happen with prime seats, only lacking freshly popped corn.

After impacting the large body of Skein, Gellbran's body was redirected to the wall of the barracks. His big half-orc head smashed against the cobbled walls and knocked him unconscious.
OOC:
The gates are closed. There is no signs of more guards coming as it is the latest shifts and no one will notice till about dawn. You guys don't need to go through the city, you can travel along the outskirts no problem. Also... Good job, Gelly. Apply damage to your characters lol.
OOC:
Oh, and you guys are rewarded 200XP each along with 1 inspiration point for that encounter.

Skeinkaldr slowly rises from the ground, not bothering to dust off the dirt that cakes his face and body. His nostrils flare in anger and he turns to face the unconscious half-orc. "Are you dead?" he asks, voice low and gravelly. "Because if not, you're going to wish you were."
