Ah, you think that ladder is free to take? Right. Sadur is visibly surprised, but only for a short moment. Once ladders are set he is ready to go.
OOC:
Sadur would let others decide the order, he actually see Jasper as a leader right now and expect Japer to give him orders. Not just because Jasper was the one to spot hole, but because being lumberjack he respects the carpenter.

Jasper puts out notion of going in, "Who should be going first and next as I really don't see a lot of space." It is obvious he wants to check out the tunnel.

Leon take 2nd position
Jul 24, 2022 2:06 pm
""Be careful in there I'm no expert but this tunnel doesn't seems to have been made by pick axes..." Xarakas points torward what looks to be acidic etches.
"I'll go with Sadur"

OOC:

Not particularly important, but would enjoy to visualise. Is it another but smaller tunnel we will get into when crawl through the crawlspace? Does it go on to of the main tunnel or is it orthogonal making a t-shape? Are we able to walk or we will be crawling through that smaller tunnel?

I suggest Sadur goes first he is bold enough to do that.
Did you also hear that sound? Can it collapse? Should we hurry?
Sadur picks a javelin and poke etches pointed out by Xarakas, climbing up the ladder to better reach them.
OOC:
Is it solid? Does it produce similar sound on poking by javelin's with steel tip?

The crawlspace looks solid and is cleared of rumble. You can see down the tunnel about 30 feet, opening into some sort of chamber.
OOC:
So... Sadur, then Leon, then Xarakas, then Jasper?

The silence of the otherwise still mineshaft echoes back your own shuffling footsteps as one by one you climb the ladder and crawl into the smaller tunnel. The air changes immediately, a muffled heat and an odor that is hard to place and not altogether unpleasant, grow into perception as you move forward toward the chamber.

Sadur in front sees it first. The miner is lying on the floor of the chamber on the fall side about 15 feet from him. The half-orc's darkvision lacks color, but allows him to the darkness as if but the shadows, where the obscured light does not shine, while Leon's vision is limited by the range of the light behind them.
OOC:

OOC:
Since I failed I assume I am free to describe my PC next action as he see man
Found him! Sadur announce happily and suggests: Everyone back I will get him out of here! Because others are blocking path back.
OOC:
By the way aren't we 4 within 20 feet? Light cantrip should give 40 feet dim light where half orc see as if bright light . I am just trying to visualuse scene, not arguing.

Jasper calls forward, Is there any way forward there or is this a dead end and hopefully the miner isn't.
Jul 25, 2022 3:03 pm
OOC:
Yes the light push that far, but is blocked by the three people, making more shadows, and then by the edges of the opening because light doesn't curl around corners, leaving darkness. The chamber is larger than the mouth of the tunnel. Is that clearer?

OOC:
did leon spot anything?
Jul 25, 2022 3:31 pm
Orobu says:
OOC:

Yes. Thanks. Sadur, not spotting anything in there will certainly move to grab the prone man and carry him back out to the larger tunnel, hoping that the rest of the team will give him way.
Jul 25, 2022 3:33 pm
Sadur moves forward to collect the man, opening the view a little more for Leon. There seemed to be enough room for them to turn about if they desired, but the corners of the tunnel would need to be checked to see if it really was a dead end.

Before that, the miner attempts to stir again, weakly shaking and clanking the metal thermos against the stone, a pathetic flailing that seemed to be frantic as the half-orc sees the abject fear in the man's eyes. He was pale and his lips chapped, his clothes and skin rolled in dirt and dust of coal.

[Leon passed with13]
In the front, whether entering or waiting at the entrance, Leon hears it before he sees it, and the movement of something that was pressed against the rock above them, hiding, but is provoked as the half-orc approaches the miner.

All others are caught by surprise as an insectoid creature of large size scurries down the wall towards Sadur, unfolding an array of mouthparts and forelimbs to grab at the intruders.
OOC:
Everyone Roll Initiative. Sadur, Jasper and Xarakas are "surprised" and do not act this round.

The critter is moving swiftly down the wall, too large to be stealthy but with the element of surprise upon its target, Sadur. Yet Leon is quicker! It is aware of you, and if you are to engage in melee, you must move forward into the chamber.
OOC:
Roll attack and damage, with your description of the attack, please! I'll take care of the effects.

FYI I'll prompt whoever makes the killing blow to describe that as they please.
