Hector began to wonder what was going on, standing perfectly still and observing the battle apart from his prior attack. How could one man dodge psychic attacks and manage so long against overwhelming odds? Had this man been augmented somehow? It was not unheard of, and a man of sufficient wealth who could acquire xenos artifacts certainly would be able to get their hands on some of these precious but rare specialists.

All of a sudden the guard stops moving. His limbs lock in place. A fountain of blood spurts from his nose, and he collapses to the ground, dead.
