Also, do I have to "cast" Aura of Protection, or is that something that's always "turned on"/passive?
OOC:

This is always on as long as you are conscious. You don't need to turn it one or cast it.
Zolinn says:
OOC:
Wasn't sure how to capture Advantage properly so I hope this works! Advantage is from the Sentinel Shield.
OOC:

You can do 2D20H1 for advantage and 2D20L1 for disadvantage.
The "H1" tells you it will only pick the highest 1 dice, and the L1 the lowest.
But this will work at 14+7 = 21

You all proceed into the fog. The light helps to drive the fog a bit away, or rather; to help you all see better in the fog. And as you enter the fog you hear the screams of panic. Of trouble. People are yelling and screaming. Quite clearly; there is trouble.

And while Yeou-Ji has no idea where it comes from, Kim sees three figures in the fog harassing two guards who are covering the retreat of civilians. The three figures seem made of solid stone and all resemble the same fierce-looking woman with a mouth full of fangs, claw-like nails, and feathered wings (which are also made out of stone).

Kim spots these creatures very early on, they have not spotted you yet.

Xerxes can tell that these creatures are not the source of the magic, althought they are magical (enchantment) themselves. Where the source actually is... no idea.
OOC:

Round 1
Surprise round!

As Kim can point out the creatures before the creatures see you, you have surprise on them.
As you are all at the same side, take your turns in order you like but also roll for initiative for next rounds.

Due to the nature of PBP initiative from will work slightly different.
Buy guys will roll initiative per group. Players who are inbetween groups of monsters can act interchangably. That way there will be less waiting.

For this round however, you have the surprise and can all act.

Kim to act
Yeou-Jo to act

Xerxes can feel the magic on the statue and his spell gripping at it, trying to dispel it, but just falling short a bit.
The dispel could have had effect if it were just a bit more focussed.
Aug 7, 2022 11:00 pm
Xestria smiles and laughs demonically. "Muah haha!" She charges straight towards the nearest creature and strikes out with her hammer.
OOC:
Attacking twice and using a ki point for flurry. Also, I will have a +2 AC until my next attack for Agile Parry feature.

Edit: added damage for the three that might have hit.

"I think we are going to need some help from the other side." Yeou-Ji sheathes his sword to free a hand. With his now free hand, he reaches out with it to summon a great, ghastly sword by one of the creatures.
OOC:
I will summon a Spiritual Weapon by whichever monster is closest to a guard to protect him. I’m assuming it would be the one on N7, so I will place it on N8.

Note: It looks like it rolled 2 d20s? Not sure what happened there. Take whichever you prefer I should take, Cettish.

Xestria charges forward and her hammer strikes true for the first hit, chipping of shards of stone from the stone winged female figure.
Bits of stone shatter of and spray in her face, making her miss all other attempts to attack.

Yeou-Ja focusses on his spell which slams at the creature, but it felt the weapon appear behind her and manages to dodge it.

I don't know why it rolled like that, but I guess you rolled a 7+6 first, which makes 13 and is a miss.
However, casting and attacking with spiritual weapon is a bonus action. You still can take and action and a move if you want.

The thought wanders into Yong's mind, the words of an old mentor...
"Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way 'round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. Water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend."

"Jade Waterfall Technique," Yong cries as he makes his move.

The dragonborn does indeed flow like water. But it's less waterfall, and more like water sloshing around in a leaking jug... jostling in the back of a runaway cart... pulled by a drunk donkey. The movements are erratic but no less deadly. A wobbling feint with the staff, the monk tipping over to wallop the stone creature with his tail, a head-butt as he sways back onto his feet, then a stumbling side-step with a wild leg sweep, and a drop-kick.
OOC:
Flurry of Blows (1 ki)

Head-butt. Advantage if Faerie Fire'd. Forcing DEX save vs. Prone condition.

As Kim completes her little ritual sparkling glows appear. Covering all three stone winged ladies in a fiery glitter. It sticks to them. They shine brightly in the fog, making them easy targets.

Stone Ladies
And that is just what Yong sees too. He rushes forward and completely overwhelms a creature by surprise.
He smashes and kicks and headbutts (ouch the stone!), brutalizing the stone lady. Chips of stone fly everywhere as the creature screams.

"Pull back!" a guard yells as he disengages. Their priority lays with the citizens. He steps back, holding his lance towards the creatures which have turned around to face the party. But Kim and Xestria are on edge.

I have another go at Dispel Magic on whatever statue either hasn't been attacked or has taken the least amount of damage (The save DC for statue equals 10 + the spell's level. On a successful check, the spell ends.)

Also, apologies if I post out of initiative order. Sometimes I might not check for a while, so I expect people would probably prefer I post my action early rather than wait. Tomorrow might be a weird day for me.

Please just fit my turn in as best you can when this happens.

"Alright, stone bitch, let's see how you like some more hammer!"

She strikes twice with her massive weapon, then uses the momentum of her second strike to throw in a roundhouse kick for good measure.
OOC:
Two weapon attacks and bonus action to unarmed strike. Will be +2 to AC for the rest of the round. If I hit with one of the hammer shots, I'll do deft strike and add 1d6 damage.

Ji-Eun holds her shield into the sky and they eye lights up. Bright white light pours from the shield. To her friends it feels like a warm sunny day hitting your skin and to her enemies it feels like searing pain from within your soul. "It looks we showed up right on time! Let's take care of these monsters then figure out what's going on here."

Xestria unleashes a series of hammer attack which both plummet on the stone woman, and she spins around and kicks her straight in the face. The stone is damaged very badly. And clearly on it's last legs.

She glances angrily at Xestria as suddenly a wave of bright light overtakes it and it shatters to pieces. Each piece of stone absorbed by the fog almost instantly, leaving no remains.

At the sight of this, the two stone monster hiss furiously.

The one beat up by Yong retaliates. She strikes with the sharp nails of both her hands, trying to sink them into him. She strikes true twice.

Seeing the light that radiated from Kim has destroyed one of her granite sisters, the other lady take to the air. Her stone wings carry her over everyone and she'll hover behind Kim, lashing out at her with both her long nailed claws. Worried for a new blast of blinding light, she messes up her attacks, hitting Kim's shield.

Angrily she flies off, only to feel the magic that animates her, leave her body as Xerxes points at her, and dispels whatever keeps her up.

She crashes to the ground and shatters. Her stony remains vaporize into the fog.
