"Remember?" the man that Kim Ji-Eun is bandaginge blinks his eyes. "No... I... why am I wounded? Has there been an accident?"

The Magistrate nods respectfully at Xerxes and walks with him across the streets to the baths, as Xerxes and Yeou-Ji are asking their questions at them. They answer calmly.

"My name is Kun Ahn-Jun, I am a magistrate of Yeonido. And to be honest, sir, I ame not entirely sure what you have experienced.

I have seen this fog come and go lately. At seemingly random times the fog comes only to vaporize again within minutes. No one seems to have recollections of the fog, really... No one but me. People are starting to think I am getting crazy... they ignore me.

But always there is blood and death within the fogs. Monsters, of various sorts killing people and vanishing with the fog. No one knows what happened and people are looking for excuses of freak accidents.

I have been keeping notes, although I am sure I have missed quite a few fogs... but well... it seems to occur more frequently every day.

I hope it is any help to you sirs.

Now, you are the first people I have met who have stepped out of the fog and have actual recollections... stone winged creatures you say?"

"How frequently are the fogs occurring?" Xestria asks absently. "And have your notes identified any geographic indications on where the next one might pop up? Or are they random?"

"This is very curious, Ji-Eun-ah. No-one here seems to recall what happened. Not even the guards. Let us go find our friends after you've done treating the ahjussi."

Listening as the other talk and are answered, Xerxes tucks his cane under his arm and stops walking. "Magistrate, I'm sure you were already going to ask this question, but what do you suppose we might have in common with you, that you remember as do we, but others do not? Have you been away and only recently come back to this city? Is there something unique about us?"

Ji-Eun finishes treating the wounded the best she can and catches up with the others.

"Sounds good! Seems like the best way we can help these people is by figuring out what's going on."

"I am not to sure," the Magistrate answers Xerxes they seem honest, looking a little confused but looking Xerxes straight in the eyes as they say it. "I haven't left Yeonido recently."

"Now was for the fog banks to pop up. The timing seems random. I have not discovered a pattern yet. Although seemingly there are three locations in the city where the fog seems to occur more often.

One of them is the Tiger District, and especially at a construction site. It would be the closest from here. It is just outside the walls from where we are, a little to the north.

Then there is a little tea house. It's the oldest tea house in Yeonido. People simply call it "Chin-Hae's Tea Shop". It is in the Phoenix District. That is north in town, within the walls.

And there is the Park of the Elders, in the Haetae District. That is just east of the Phoenix District."

"Let us go find the others at the bathhouse," Yong says to Ji-Eun.

Finding the others with a magistrate, Yong bows respectfully.
"Annyeonghaseyo pansanim!"

Annyeonghaseyo pansanim = Hello, honorable magistrate.

"Strange," Xerxes says, allowing a brief silence between them while mulling it over."If I were to animate statues in a fog, I might do so as a distraction towards some greater purpose..." He taps the street with his cane three times. "Have there been any reported crimes near the areas after the events?"

"There are crimes of various sorts. Where in the Tiger district it just seems vandalism which slows down various building projects, there was an actually attack on two prominent nobles in the Phoenix district. They got out alive, but gravely injured. As to various deaths and injuries in the gardens of the Haetae district."

"We’re closest to the Phoenix district from here," Xestria points out. "Seems like there’s a chance for another attack there. There is a tea house I know where we can wait. Although…" she looks over her companions, especially at Yong. "Given the noble status of the district, some of you might stand out."

Realizing attention has turned to him, Yong stops picking boogers from his nose, and wipes his finger on the front of his shirt.

"On second thought," Xestria said with a wicked smile on her face, "I think you’ll fit in just fine, Yong!"

"I was thinking something similar, sister. We can help clean up our friends so they are less conspicuous, unless they prefer to split up and see what they can find out in the other districts?"

As they approach the bath house, Xerxes begins to unbutton his cufflinks. "Thank you for humoring us, magistrate. I feel it is our duty to help in any way we can, and I'll be happy to report to you anything useful we may find out." He slips the cufflinks into his purse. "Unless you have additional questions for any of us, or would like to join us in the baths, I won't take up any more of your time."

Magistrate Kun Ahn-Jun nods their head at the invitation. "Why not? It would be a moment to relax a bit. Plus if you have any further questions, we can discuss them."

After making arrangement for clothing and food to be brought for himself and his sister... ...Xerxes sits soaking in one of the large private rooms near the magistrate, his head leaning back against the edge.

"When I run the locations through my head, there isn't an obvious pattern," Xerxes says to nobody in particular, looking up at his half filled wine goblet. He seems to consider reaching for it, but changes his mind.

Instead, he continues. "One thought did occur to me; since they are along the more northern edge of the city. If the events started in the Tiger District, perhaps construction disturbed something magical, and the magic is following some kind of natural trajectory through the city?" He turns his head slightly toward the magistrate. "Do you recall any details regarding the graffiti--or perhaps any reports of unknown items or strange happenings in the areas where the building projects have been ongoing?"

"Well Yeou-Ji, it seems we're taking a moment to collect ourselves. I can escort you to your family if you'd like."

Xestria sat across from her brother, lithe arms stretched wide and bosom exposed. She drank from a small ceramic sake cup while one of the geisha massaged her neck and shoulders.

"Are the creatures that attack always the same statues? Or do they vary? Seems like this construction site has some potential. Not sure what interest the tea shop or park would be. Wanna check that out, brother?"

Yong heads out with You-Ji and Ji-Eun but wanting to give the youngsters a private moment, wanders off on his own, mumbling something about getting his wine gourd refilled.
