I personally find Feats to be part of 5E’s charm. It gives players the opportunity to create a character that’s uniquely theirs, and to more accurately reflect what they envision their character to be. Feats are a creative tool for players and DM’s alike and work well to give personality to their characters. Granted, feats can also wreck a game. A DM should be ready to veto a specific feat, or combo if they feel it would unbalance things. Players should also be ready to accept that Veto at any time if it becomes apparent that the feat or combo is causing a disruption.
