Adventures guild is always nice to have a membership with.
Anything I should know about being an urban bounty hunter or being a Cleric of Selûne?
For urban bounty hunter, there will be job boards you can find work from, there are also the local Adventuring guilds.

Considerin a rogue with Sage background - Bookworm - Prefers the long game, scams, confidence games and such. Pretty weak in "traditional" rogue skills. Gonna need backup!

I am planning a warlock of either Archfey or Great Old One. Although I don't rule out Hexblade either as a more warrior option.

She is the daughter of a hag, placed as a changeling baby with a normal family in Waterdeep.
Normally she should have eventually turned into a full, proper hag. But she hasn't for some reason. Her parents had suspicion and found a cleric to shield the child with magic.
Now that she is an adult, she is connected with evil magic and rituals and trying to find a way between her own moral believes and her origin.

I expect to have a proper char sheet up over the weekend.

GM: Are you going to deal with the getting us all together?

I'm not familiar with Acquisitions Inc.

I still like the idea of a guild thief.

Now I got to think of a build that'll work with my ahhh.... interesting stat array.

I've played in an Acquisitions Inc. one-shot. Not terribly familiar, but I'm not entirely clueless. I also played in a Waterdeep: Dragon Heist game that didn't get far. I generally don't pay too much attention to Forgotten Realms lore.

For a character I'm thinking of a roguish bard. A free agent but isn't averse to hiring himself out to guilds as long as there are no strings attached.

I'm hoping to do a little solo adventuring in addition to adventuring with whatever group (or groups) might form here.

With the way things are shaping up, I'm going to have to brush up on Skullport. Sounds like this will be a better spot in the city to start most of you. Love the ideas though, its getting me to have many ideas already.

I don't have Dragon heist, I do have access to Acquisitions Incorporated, not red it yet. Never know how much of reading would be metagaming, so I prefer to only read what a DM allow/suggests to read. I would start reading it if there is no spoilers.

I believe wizard who has more ambitions that the skills would a perfect match to my rolled ability scores. Currently considering either a human, Tortle or gnome. Will see how exotic races other players will pick.

Sounds pretty cool! Can we make evil characters that are part of one of the gangs?

Go ahead and read it. I'm using it more for flavor and someone having knowledge of AI and the people in it would be good, plus a wizard with more ambitions than skill is something that fits in with AI perfectly.

While I won't flat out say no, I would prefer to stay away from evil characters.

Are you sure you don't want to use the Shadow Thieves, then?

Both Zhentorim and Xanathars, at least canonically, do a lot of slavery and murder... which is decidedly evil, and which means rogues who just want to steal stuff and maybe help out some poor along the way don't have a guild.

The other options being the two guilds you mentioned are toned down considerably, or the PCs start our own club. With jackets, and hookers. (Maybe no jackets.)

Actually with a lot of you looking to play rouges and other shadowy types (looking at you Stabby) I have an idea that will work perfectly. I just need to do some rereading and flesh it out some and talk to those that want to play more 'criminal' types. Plus you forgot that the club also has to have blackjack. (really thinking of adding a warforged NPC now)

Our bouncer! Biggest (height/weight) Warforged fighter we can make, boost STR and CON, Defense fighting style for an extra +1 AC, a shield... and a sap to only do non-lethal damage. 😁

Have the word "Behave" engraved on the shield, maybe a minor magical effect so it's readable in any language, just so he can say, "Don't make me tap the sign."

I dig up two wizard roll tables in AI, rolling them to assist with my character concept.

Rolls

Lingering Nightmare - (1d6)

(1) = 1

Arcane Master - (1d8)

(6) = 6

The more I think about it it feels like the eldritch knight might feels hollow if we make more scheming/social encounter than actual fight.

I have some ideas for rogues, wizards but I don't to duplicate char concepts too much?

Any ideas?

Nonsense, you play what you want, plus every group needs some muscle, Anything else can be adapted for urban campain. If you want to talk about it just send me a message.

Character wise I believe two wizards could be as different as a warlock is different from cleric.
Anyhow here are some details on my wizard PC if you want to make your unique to help you make a different one, should you want a to make wizard
[ +- ] Based on what I rolled
Tortle by race and by nature.
Quote:
Carrying their shelter on their backs gives tortles a special feeling of security wherever they go, for even if they visit a far, unknown country, they have a place to lay their heads.
Skullport is just a step in his live, a stop to learn new skills before and save some money before he continue exploring the world. He met his master Loa Hatt in Skullport and is still educating under his supervision (hope that we will eventually level up so I can pick School of Illusion as the moment when my PC abandon his master). He is introvert trying to prove himself through action rather than talking, optimist - always look on the bright side of life, but calculating and planning before making any decision.
