You see the river coming down from the mountains to the north east, and you know you can't climb them with your following. There is a forest to the south and hills to the south east.

Iroven watched the rolling hills and the rugged lands and said, "I don't know. We have been moving around these rugged lands which ultimately led us to high mountain ranges that blocked our way. Now that I see the river source, my intuition is saying that moving south will only lead to more impassable mountains. Maybe we should skirt the dense forest and move northwest and continue to follow it's edge to southwest. There was a large lake in that direction but maybe moving between the lake and forest would be better."

More forest to the south. The forest is teeming with life, but anything dangerous seems to keep their distance from you.

The forest grows deeper and it's hard to see the distance. At one point you come into a clearing and see heavy cloud cover above. Climbing a large tree you see mountains to the south and the forest continues to the south east.
