This dilapidated building is made of timber with a flat straw roof and a dirt floor. A 30-by-20-foot common room contains benches, tables, and a barrel of water.

Welcome!, welcome! to the Salvage Hotel. My name is Aurion, what may I help you with?

Gabrielle surveys the interior of the room grimly.

"There are quite a few of us who came in on the last lightning railcar," she says. "Have you any vacancy? Something private, I hope?"

Ovak and Moisie pass through the hotel after Ovak sells off her furs for coin. Ovak gets a room for both of them and later meals. Ovak made a fast pass though.

Ovak knows hotels tend not to like her race so she doesn't cause any waves. Big ugly her and Moisie probably doesn't help.

Edit: GM how much does it cost Ovak for the room and meals? She has 10gp from the furs. I'm also assuming she is holding the extra 5gp from gathering as party treasure.

Malbor straggles in after the main group and hopes there is a single room available.

Kata is not far behind Gabrielle. "A room for me as well."

Mordaky walked into the Salvation Hotel and grinned at Aurion, "A room for de night would be quite nice m'friend, an' does dat come with breakfast?"

Despite her forwardness, Moisie is grateful for Ovak’s generosity. She dutifully follows her to and through the hotel.

Smiles, "We have plenty of room here, stack them and rack them if we need too! It is two silver pieces to stay at the one and only Salvation Hotel." His smile grows wider, "The only room and board in town!"

Fredo d’Nada and Malbor Loradin both notice Aurion watching them out the of the corner of his eyes as they pass by.

Aurion's eyes briefly widen then he smiles, twists the ends of his mustache looks at Kata and begins to make small talk, "May I have the pleasure of your name?", "What brings you to Outpost Salvation?"

Looks at Gabrielle "Nice to meet you. What is your name? What brings you to Outpost Salvation? Where are you from?"

Upon seeing Ovak, Aurion's eyes widen, mouth opens then he quickly looks away and does not look back in the direction of Ovak as he turn his attention to Kata and Gabrielle.

Ovak sees no point in putting off the problems and strides straight to Mr Aurion who is present with Moisie in tow. Ovak is sure it to most likely be a lesser encounter as the norm. She fairly much ignores others present as her normal active operation and says in a clear demanding Common voice, "Ovak, Room, & Meals for two." as she has obviously a pair of gold coins in her hand ready to be lost.

His eyes widen a bit as he looks at Ovak with an otherwise disinterested expression, "Sure, coming right up."

Aurion looks over at Moisie, twists his mustache and smiles. "My name is Aurion" he nods then looks at Moisie expectantly to return the courtesy of giving her name.

"Gabrielle Blackwood," says Gabrielle. "From Breland. I've come looking for coin. Same as everyone else I suppose. Just trying to make my way in this world, you know?"

Aurion leans forward towards Gabrielle smiling as his eyes narrow slightly. "Ah yes a familiar tale here. A drink on the house for good luck in your endeavors here?" He raises an eyebrow awaiting an answer from Gabrielle.

Moisie takes a moment before answering. She’s cautious with all the questions the others have been getting. Ovak at least gave her name, she can do the same. However, she keenly watching Aurion now.

"And a good of day to you, Aurion. I’m Moisie.", she offers a firm handshake to see if he’ll accept.

Aurion smiles and accepts Moisie's handshake, "Pleased to meet you Moisie. You are new to Salvation?"

Gnomes… Moisie’s having difficulty reading this one.

"At the very least, I’m new to you, Aurion.", she quips.

As Aurion leans towards her, Gabrielle angles her body obliquely away from him somewhat. She takes a beat to secure a lock of hair that had come loose back behind her ear, and as she does so her eyes flit briefly towards the exit before returning her gaze to Aurion. What's he playing at? she wonders. Was it the obvious, or something more sinister?

Nevertheless, Gabrielle gives him a polite closed-mouth smile.

"That's very generous of you, sir," says Gabrielle. "Nothing too fancy; a glass of red wine perhaps?"

His smile grows a bit wider upon hearing Moisie’s quip. "My apologies I did not mean to offend. I just like to know a little about my guests. Salvation can be dangerous and I want my guests to be safe. I hope you understand?"

Tilts his head to the side and smiles. "Red wine is a fine choice." Aurion pours himself a glass of the wine as well and raises it Gabrielle in a toast. "Good luck and fortune to you."

Motherfuckin’ zilargo gnomes, always scheming, Fredo thinks as he notices the gnome eyeing him and his compatriots.

Mordaky digs the silver from his coin purse and offers it to Aurion, "Not meaning to interrupt, but 'ere is de coin for my room master Aurion"

Looks at Mordaky plainly, "If you would like a drink, 7cp for a mug of ale, 8cp for a glass of wine and 7cp for a shot of whiskey."

Mordaky notices the price for drinks here is high.

Finishes his glass of wine looks at Gabrielle and tilts his head to the side. "Would you like another glass of wine on me? I do so find the tales of travelers fascinating. If you will indulge me. Are these people your friends? Are you working together as a salvage crew or something else?"

Pours himself another glass of wine from the same bottle and takes a sip. "Will you be heading into the Grey for the first time then?"

Ovak just got her business done with the short thang and headed off to check the room before coming back down to relax a bit. She says in Goblin to Moisie, "I wouldn't trust that gnome any further than I could throw him." and it is obvious that she could probably do just that.

Malbor looks for a way to approach Aurion without being surrounded by too many people.
"A single room if you please and something to eat."
Malbor pays him quickly, trying not to engage with the others if he can help it. He looks for a table with the least amount of people possible and eats in silence, keeping an eye (and ear) on the goings on.

Gabrielle finishes the last of her first glass.

"Some of us are more experienced than others, I think," she says. "It'll be the first time for some of us."

Turns to Malbor and and raises an eyebrow, "It so happens I have a few single rooms available. It will cost you four silver pieces. I have onion squirrel soup and bread for five copper pieces."

Turns back towards Gabrielle looks down for a moment then looks Gabrielle in the eyes. "Many that go into to the Grey never return. A good night's rest will help. To show my appreciation the chat you may have a single room tonight and the night of your return for free."

Gabrielle looks pleasantly surprised for a moment, and then bows her head in a gesture of gratitude.

"Again, thank you for your great generosity," she says. "That's very kind. I should be off to bed, actually. It was a long ride on the lightning rail and we have an early start."

Aurion looks about the room then says, "The kitchen and bar is closed, see you in the morning."

Gabrielle accepts the key to her room and sleeps soundly, with a dagger under her pillow.

Moisie replies in Goblin, "I’d like to see that. My mentor once told me, ‘The bigger the smile, the sharper the knife.’ "

She gives her best attempt at a friendly smile to Aurion, says good night and joins Ovak. Once in their room, She flops unceremoniously onto the bed, kicks off her shoes and stretches her little legs. Staring at the ceiling she says, "They seem like a good lot, Ovak. What’s the plan for this ‘Grey’?"

Malbor has some food and then retires to his room for another night of fitful dreams.

Mordaky ordered a meal of the onion squirrel soup, not wanting to sleep on an empty stomach, and just had a cup of water with it. He didn't know what tomorrow would bring but he hoped he could get to know this lot a little better, after all he may be fighting for his life in this Grey, or was it the Mournland? It usually wasn't a good thing when a place had more than one name, at least in his own mind that built up the mystery, and possibly spoke of it's dangers. He was glad to have his blade, and his armor, but would they be enough?

Upon finishing his meal Mordaky retired to the room and found a bunk among the others, having opted to not get a private chamber. He doffed his armor and cleaned it and his blade, then set out his clothes at the foot of the blade, his boots on the floor next to him, and then tried to get some sleep, despite his nerves. "One, two, seven, winner" he repeated softly to himself, a habit he'd picked up after a particularly vivid dream seemed to foretell a win on the dice in the past, just one of his many gamblers superstitions.

Malbor Perception Check at Disadvantage.

Kata lingers with any who stay up for food and drink, just quietly enjoying their presence. Though she does eventually sleep.

Ovak replies back, "Well, tomorrow we will see who has the moxy to last. I hope we don't loose anyone. Mournland is like that. Rest well today as tomorrow we need to be alert."

Moisie nods in silent agreement and goes about making up her bed for the night. She places her shoes and pack next to the bed for quick access, then places her axe at the headboard within reach. She curls into a tiny ball under the blanket. "G’nite Ovak." and is promptly snoozing away.

Fredo says, "G'night, Malbor! I hope you have a restful sleep."

He then pays and shuffles into his room for the night, and gets a nice, good rest.

Ovak isn't too keen about sleeping in a bed. Not something she is used to and losing her chain shirt to boot. She keeps her shortsword and scabbard handy close. Sleep will come restlessly. Tomorrow breakfast is all she can hope to look forward to.

Malbor awakes suddenly in bed. A dark figure looms over him as a dagger is driven towards Malbor's chest!

Malbor bolts awake as the dagger plunges into him. He thought he was having yet another nightmare, but this time the nightmare is real. He throws his hand up and creates a telekinetic shield to ward off further attacks, and at the same time probes the hooded figure's mind for weakness.

The Hooded Figure gracefully tumbles away from Malbor and quickly exits the room. The sound of the retreating food steps rapidly fade into silence.

Malbor briefly pursues the figure, but then gives up reasonably quickly knowing that the intruder is likely more athletic, and knows the area better than he. He goes back to his room and tries to ascertain how the assailant gained access in the first place and sees if he can secure his room against further intrusion. Perhaps by moving the bed against the door?

Malbor notices no signs of forced entry into his room or damage to the lock. There is no sign how this small intruder entered his room. The rest of the night passes without incident.

The sun rises over Outpost Salvation and creeps into the windows of the hotel. The smell of squirrel and onion stew lurks in the air. The group awakens to a new day.

Ovak will eat her paid breakfast with Moisie and eyes others that come to the table as her request for the adventure was for each to show up in the morning here. She says to Moisie in Goblin, "You think they all will come or some will already give up cause of the dangers of Mournland?"

Being a short move to the site in Mournland, Ovak doesn't need anything more than some water.

Moisie replies in Goblin, "It’s their loss if they don’t. More profit for us. It would be a mistake to give up their share."

She takes a meaty bite of the squirrel soup and grunts her approval as she continues, "This ‘Mournland’ seems to have a reputation, a larger group might be useful."

Moisie follows suit grabs water for the trip.
