He also doesn't share specifically how he knows what this is. No need to make his allies question his suggestions while they explore.

Kata gestures with one hand for Vic to get between her and the cloud. With the other she draws a hand axe, the hilt lighting up as she grips it. The axe swings through the body of the creature, halting just past it's billowing form and returning back to Kata's hand.
Vic's servos charge up in their arm. A charged up punch seems to just dissipate into the cloud.
