Vice chimes in:"Aye, I understand the plan, just not the point. It's all risk and no reward right? We can get the ship to move, and ecen if we did, we cant keep it. Let's get what rewards we can for finding it, and let someone else fight the ghost sailors"

How about a compromise.
If you can figure a way to get a plank big enough to shuttle us us and down in the next few minutes we can try to reach the ship. If it takes too long or there are too many compications we head back and return tomorrow.

Doubtful Gzizmix decides it is best to trust the other team member to know what they are talking about as long as it is withing reason. With that he will climb to the top of the cariage and look around for anyplace they might stash the carriage to at least make it stand out less Tall trees, a couple hills or gulch, etc...
OOC:
Passive Perception 13 as he is not really trying that hard.

Gzizmix looks around the barren plateau. For miles in every direction, there is only lifeless, grey rock and dirt. It strikes you how empty this space really is. There’s a sense of safety in knowing there’s nothing around and yet exposure in knowing there’s nowhere to hide. Meanwhile, the ever present whispers remind you, the circus wasn’t the only unseen presence nearby.

The cadaver collector splats another corpse to its back…

Malbor looks around the area for a piece of wood, Soarwood or other, on which both he and 37 can stand.

"37. Are you strong enough to lift me?"
Mar 29, 2023 10:42 pm
"That seems unlikely," 37 answers.

Mablor looks a bit surprised.

"Very well. Let's find something we can both stand on. If not. I'll have to do this alone."

OOC:
wondered why no one was posting. I am searching the area for a piece of wood pursuant to my previous post.

Having spent a good portion of time sifting through the site. There is no soarwood on the ground. You do find a broken tabletop that you feel could support both of you.

Malbor brings the table into position under the wreck and casts a spell on the broken piece of furniture. It begins to levitate and the sorcerer hops on to it. Slowly it rises into up to the airship above. After about a minute, Malbor reaches the stern of the ship and continues a little further to the cabin window. From there he takes a look around.
OOC:
I’ll grab a perception check while you’re up there to see if you find a sufficiently sized piece and a dexterity check to see if you can ride it down. (I’ll go with my rolls at 2200 pdt)

Rolls

Perception Check - (1d20)

Dexterity check - (1d20+3)

OOC:
i can just transport 2 peiple at a time on the table if they are willing. Or whoever wants to go. Since the spell is on the table i dont even have to be on it myself technically. Or i can do 1 at a time. If it takes too long ill have to use a second casti g.

Malbor first tries the cabin window, but finds it’s locked. You look out to the floating soarwood around you. The smell of smoke fills your nose and lungs. The burnt soarwood has a very pleasant, sweet aroma, like honey and birch. You find one larger piece, kind of janky and scorched around one edge. It is a bit of a distance away from the ship, but you’re able to push your table close enough to it.

Your companions stand far below staring up at you in the grey of the stifled sun. You reach the slightly burnt chunk of wood and test its stability from the safety of your table. You find that it doesn’t float like a raft would, but rather it wants to roll freely through the air like a ball floating in water. You realize that if you try to stand on this piece, it would spin out from under you. Instead, you decide it’s safer to rest your table on it and push it down magically to ground to investigate its properties.

Earic approaches and commends your retrieval of such a large piece of the precious lumber and says, "Ah yes, airships, as with regular ships need a ballast, or they would tumble over as you saw there. I like your gusto though my good sorcerer and that will fetch a handsome price.", he includes the rest of the group as he continues, "I implore you to return me to Salvation before nightfall. Your crew is clearly skilled in adventuring, but I am just a scholar.", he looks around expectantly, perhaps hopeful that you’ll agree.

Core is happy to see Malbor landed with a size able treasure. "Now that does make all this worth it."
Apr 2, 2023 7:29 pm
Once Malbor returns he says:

"The plan is sound. I think I can improve upon it when we return."

At Earic’s urging, your crew loads up the piece of soarwood and Core hastily gets underway. As the elemental crackles to life, he turns the cart around and you hear one last sickening thud as the cadaver collector continues his seemingly ceaseless, morbid purpose. Core follows the cart trail carefully to avoid getting lost and as dusk begins to set in, the spectral grey mists loom overhead. To get out of the Mournland quicker, Core follows a course on the map that passes south of the Plymdonwood, exiting about an hour’s ride north of Salvation.

Guided by the purple electrical light of the cart’s elemental, you arrive in town just after dark. The salvage market is long closed, but Earic uses a key to open the warehouse to store the coach and your salvaged items for the night.

"Thank you gentlemen. That was the most exhilarating couple of days of my life. Such an incredible find.", he says with a clear note of fatigue in his otherwise excited voice. He carefully takes down the General’s neatly wrapped body. "I shall bring him to the chapel for safekeeping and then head to the Grey Beyond for a much needed mead. If anyone cares to join me, I’ll see you there."

Earic locks up the warehouse and heads off to the Chapel of the Silver Flame. Weary from a hectic couple of days, Earic leaves you in the relative silence of the evening.
OOC:
Feel free to RP the evening. Here’s a map as a reminder.

Cores been driving but the thought of Grey Beyond appeals, "I will catch you there Earic."

Vice will stroll the town for a bit, grab a meal with the others, the get to sleep. "Gonna need a good nights rest before heading back into the fog"
Apr 3, 2023 5:26 pm
"Rest yes. And food." is all that Mablor says and he heads towards the Grey Beyond. He mumbles something to himself but his words are not decipherable. He looks to see if anyone else is going that way, now having become accustomed to the presence of the others he seems more willing to tolerate their proximity.

Moraky nods, "I'll join you for a drink, and maybe a game of cards..." Mordaky smiles a big toothy Tiefling grin.

Gzizmix will quietly tag along. Food and a bed are good but Gzizmix wil pay more attention to others conversations hoping to pick up on local news and gossip.

37 was not particularly interested in food, drink, or a bed... but saw the benefits to sticking with his ragtag band of explorers and adventurers.

Besides, he hoped they had taken his suggestion to get moving before the sun rose to heart. If they had... he did not want to, ironically, be the reason they got a late start.

Kleber's stomach let out a low growl, signaling his hunger. "Anything other than these hard rations is a blessing" he muttered, licking his lips in anticipation. "And maybe some booze to wash it down" he adds. With that, he made his way towards the bar, stomach leading the way.
