Errich doesn't know much about these unholy creatures. He suspects they have certain advantages that make them decent guardians, in addition to not requiring sustenance or sleep. He can only conjecture what these could be.

"Ugh, nasty skeletons!" Dante exclaims, disgusted. With a flick of his wrist, he conjures a fiery orb that crackles with heat and hurls it at the nearest skeleton. As the undead horde continues to close in, Dante quickly weaves a protective shield around himself with a series of arcane gestures, a shimmering barrier of magical energy that pulsates with a soft blue glow.

Wugruk's weapon cannot find purchase. The skeletons retaliate with their rusty scimitars and precarious shortbows.

I wanted to do Tumble Through again, and they actually have pretty good stats for that, but can't bring myself to do it because these are Mindless creatures. =p

Wugruk deftly dodges each of the attacks, shoving aside claws, deflecting arrows with his shield. His armor stops a few of the blows from making it through, and end the end a single arrow sticks from his wooden shield where it would have pierced his leg. Wugruk snarled at the undead in retort!

What incredible luck! I will use Shield Block to reduce that 1 damage to 0, no damage to Wugruk or the shield as it's below the hardness level of the shield.

From where I'm at, if I were to use my arrows, would my companions possibly get hit, or act as cover for the enemy?

No chance your companions would get hit, but skellies get a +1 to AC for lesser cover. On a related note, I gave Wugruk a +2 from Sk3's arrows because the skeletons don't really cooperate with each other. But even though Dante and Wugruk are both in front of you, I'm cool with just a +1 assuming basic communication. =)

While Errich's first shot hits its mark, the arrow barely sticks, instead shattering just enough bone to cause the eventual collapse of its target. The second shot bounces off smooth bone.

Not quite, and the skeleton stands! These skellies are really interesting creatures. =) Will talk about them in rules discussion after this.

Dante's fire bolt explodes inside the skeleton, flames licking its ribcage and singing any vestiges of what was once cloth. The aberration nearly falls, but manages to recompose itself precariously.
