Chapter 5: Breaking Tusks

At first your search is going badly, but seems luck is with you, when you stumble upon a group of six sleeping mountain goats.
Dec 4, 2023 7:46 pm
"Well, will these work Igbork? Tell me what you need me to do, I'll help get things ready."
OOC:
Not sure what kind of roll would be needed to herd these goats and get something set up as planned. Let me know.
Dec 4, 2023 9:22 pm
Igbork grunts triumphantly At least this part of the plan went well. We'll need to bind them and then we can mount a scarecrow in their backs and maybe some torches on the horns.
We should find enough reeds to craft them around here.
But first let's catch them...

Together with the others he prepares ropes and throws them around the necks of the goats...
OOC:
Any rolls needed for catching the goats? Or do we succeed because they are sleeping?
Dec 5, 2023 1:36 pm
OOC:
Up to you how you want to handle it. A simple skill check will do, but what skill to use is up to you. Athletics to create a hinder so the suddenly awoken goats have nowhere else to go than against the Burning Mammoths. Intimidation to scare them in the right direction. Nature or Surivial to leverage your knowledge of mountain goats to lure them in the right direction. Or something I haven't even thought of. DC will depend on the skill and what you try, Intimidate would be against the goats Will defense, while Survival would be against the Recall Information DC for example.

Edit: Though thinking a little more of it, I am thinking a skill challenge where each of you get to attempt up to one skill check and each success and failure will give you or lose you a Goat Point. The more points, the more havoc you cause the Burning Mammoths.

Artesia wastes no time engaging her chosen goat, attempting to lure it toward the Burning Mammoths by offering it some food.

Grom watches Artesia for a moment and smiles to himself. Then with a shrug of his shoulders, he strides towards the nearest goat and begins an incantation with hands gyrating in the air. Of a sudden, a vine covered with adhesive sap appears in the air. The druid's hands and arms lunge forward and the vine lashes itself to the goats legs.
OOC:
Grom is casting Tanglefoot

Rolls

spell attack - (1d20+8)

(6) + 8 = 14

Dec 6, 2023 3:34 am
Koram and Haitith each make an attempt to intimidate and scare the goats into going where the group wants them, once they are geared up with whatever setup Igbord designes.

OOC:
Has @scrol anything they want to do?
Dec 7, 2023 6:38 pm
Igbork collects reeds and other plant parts and bind them into a shape that's roughly humanoid. It won't fool anyone up close but he hopes that its silhouette will attract the Burning Mammoth's assault team.
He also bind a torch some of to the goats horns so that they generate more attention
OOC:
This calls for another reroll. Yee-Haw. Go Hero Point

Welp.... Gotta live with that result

Between the four of you, you are able to guide half the goats into the Burning Mammoths' camp. You hear bleats as the goats make a mess of the camp, and you hear the unprepared hunters grab weapons and try to scare away the goats. That's when one of the goats attacks in fear, and you can see at least one of the hunters tumbling down the jagged hillside before they are able to overpower the goats and the hills return to silence.
Dec 13, 2023 10:01 am
"Is this where we rush them?" Koram asks quietly, "or take the opportunity to try and sneak past and continue forth?"
Dec 13, 2023 10:35 pm
I'd say we go and get them. Let's try to capture at least one of them Igbork grunts and ducks down into the terrain, ready to ambush
OOC:
If you are absolutely against ambushing Igbork can be talked with of course

OOC:
Looks like we are going into Initiative time. Give me an Initiative roll Grom and Artesia as well. You don't need to roll Stealth, but I will rule that those that roll Stealth will start closer to the action.
Dec 14, 2023 11:00 pm
Artesia readies herself for the task to come. She considers the best way to approach the remaining tribesmen.
