Mechanics: Unless anyone has proficiency with flute this will be a dexterity skill check opposed by enemy wisdom save for instrument to take effect and you can repeat every round.

seems i don't understand how perform works in 5e. The skill states:Performance. Your Charisma (Performance) check determines how well you can delight an audience with music, dance, acting, storytelling, or some other form of entertainment.
Nowhere does it say you have to select any specific discipline (or instrument).
My character took performance as a performance skill.
It does state that if you have tool proficiency with an instrument you add your proficiency modifier to your check.
The way this translates to me is:
Proficient in performance (but not instrument) = add proficiency modifier to performance check
Not proficient in performance (but proficient with an instrument) = add proficiency when using a specific instrument.
Proficient in performance (and proficient with an instrument) = add proficiency when using a specific instrument (proficiency doesn't stack)
Expertise in Performance =double proficiency when using performance.
Personally, I'd suggest, if proficient (or expertise) in the performance skill as well as the instrument, you should get advantage.
Otherwise, I don't understand why you would want to be proficient with an instrument 'and' proficient with the performance skill.
Or is it that being proficient with an instrument strument gives you proficiency in the perfoemance skill for that instrument...and then if you take proficiency in the proficiency skill you gain proficiency in the tool (instrument)...an either or scenario?

What would a human do should fey come to their home and kill his dog just for barking at her? Archfey answer Altas' question with a question, but later add No I'm not a vengeful human. I will only make sure you can't kill another one.

The positive Seelah believe there is something very special about those leopards to the Archfey - they are more than just a pet and she can't think of anything else until the pet issues is solved.
Atlas and Jerinvar feel Archfey don't seem to like your elusive talking about the dead animal. The task she gave you is suspicious. Even if it is not a trap she probably only want you to fail the task to have someone to blame

I'm railroading here - you basically have a choice to leave the forest peacefully missing the opportunity to gain info from NPC or you could do the job for NPC and gain reward if she is satisfied with your accomplishment. There is obviously a risk she will be not. Nov 28, 2023 7:33 pm

Atlas, perhaps you can shift to a beast with heightened senses that will allow us to track them? Pinmel suggests as he rushes to keep up with the energetic druid having his familiar keep pace above them as they search for traces of the beasts.

It doesn't take long before you find both creatures hiding in bushes and licking each other's scars and burns. More over you manage find them before they spot you.

What do you do? If you prefer numbers, let's say you are 150 feet away but getting any closer will be really hard. Let's say if you get prone with DC 20 group check I would be willing to move you up to 75 feet range load next
