37 begins by taking shots at the obelisk, hoping to stop these skeletons as they did the previous group.

37 unleashes his lightning on the larger obelisk. He can tell this one is sturdier than the two previous ones, but his lightning is having the desired effect. The second shot streaks just over Peldan’s head, but misses the artifact.

Meanwhile in the chamber at the top of the stairs, Vice, Malak and SheK find themselves swarmed by the defending skeletons.

The nimble gnome manages to avoid his foe’s blade for the moment.

SheK manages to stave off the first attack, but takes a cut to her back as she is flanked by the second skeleton.

Malak seems to be the unfortunate target of four of the creatures. Blade and arrow assault him as he desperately tries to defend himself. Despite his valiant efforts, a sword manages to stick the Owlin and an arrow slices his shoulder.

Vice was about to try and unlock the door, but thought better of it. Can't walk through it if I'm dead.'' he attacks the skeleton before yelling;"Can anyone else damage the obelisk!? Spells? Magic weapons? Harsh words? I'll take anything right now!"

Vice slashes quickly at the oncoming skeleton. He strikes the knees, hacking the lower legs clean off. As the creature falls, the gnome’s second swipe decapitates it. The guard falls over, unmoving.

Everything was happening so fast. Malak was use to fighting in the forest, not in the confined spaces of a dungeon. He was suddenly very aware of the true danger he was in when he felt the stinging strikes of the enemies weapons, swords and arrows alike. In an act of self preservation he brought forth the power of nature he held within himself and projected it down the corridor from which they'd come. From the ground and walls roots sprang forth and sought out their enemies and in an instant four skeletons found themselves bound and held in place and lessening the direct threat to he and his allies.

Realizing his bow was not going to be of much use in such close quarters he slung it over his shoulder preparing to draw his swords.

OOC:

Action: Casts Entangle spell at the bottom left corner of 21-C with it's 20ft radius ending at the upper edge of 21-F, bisecting diagonally through 20-F which is the center of the square so should be able to snag skeletons 4, 5, 6 and 7 in it's grasp.

Starting in the corner of the hall, the dreary grey of the catacomb erupts with greenery. Sprouting through the cracks in the floor, the vines weave their way through the feet of the skeletons, growing over a crypt in the corner of the chamber. They ensnare the first three skeletons, the last sees his cohorts and quickly steps out of the way of the grasping shrubbery.
OOC:
Skeletons 5, 6, 7 are retrained. Attacks against have advantage. DEX throws are at disadvantage.

Green areas on the map are difficult terrain.

SheK is up with Peldan on deck

would Peldan be able to target 2,3,4 or 5 from where he is, with 37 between him and them? If so, if Peldan cast spider climb on himself, could he scale the wall and onto the ceiling (in his same square: G23) and be able to target any of them (ie: eldritch blast or one of his other cantrips).

Being that you’re a halfling, I’ll allow the movement. Spider climb and Eldritch blast are both actions, though. Did you a feat that allows two spells/actions?

For line of sight, on the ceiling, you could see 3 & 4. 2 & 5 would be in half cover.

I didn't intend them to be performed in the same turn. Just making sure it would provide unobstructed line of sight. I also worded that wrong, in case it changes the answer...I'd intended to write:

You could try, but there are a lot of bodies in the way. Their ACs go up a lot.

Peldan casts spider climb on himself and then climbs the wall next to him and then moves out onto the ceiling above where he'd just been standing. This would afford him a better vantage point to target the enemy and would hopefully be a safer place for him to be.

The halfling creepy crawls up the wall and hangs from the ceiling. Peldan now has a much better vantage point over the two attacking SheK. The two around the corner are a little harder to spot at the moment.

As Peldan scampers up the wall, 37 has a clear shot on the obelisk and doesn’t waste it. The lightning pours into the object and large cracks tear through it. Once again, a faint, glowing green shows through. The enormous impact on the artifact leaves it heavilty damaged and causes the skeletons behind him to stumble for just a moment.

However, they quickly continue their assault on the Owlin and the half orc. The two flanking SheK, swipe at her once more. The last untied skeleton takes a swing at Malak. The remaining three struggle against the green vines.

One gets a lucky slice on SheK, the others miss in their attempts. Lastly, all three of the entangled skeletons manage to frantically slice free of their bonds. One of the archers pushes up to get a better shot.

Vice, hoping to give his allies some room to breathe, hurls Sloth and Pride into the back of the skeleton attacking Malak. "How's it going with the obelisk?" he ask

"Well, all things considered," 37 replies. The fact the constructed man doesn't have a face capable of expression makes it difficult to read him. There is no narrowing of brow, no smile or grimace, no look of hope or worry. Going strictly by tone can be daunting, because 37's tone often isn't what one would expect for the circumstances.

Take now for example. The reality is they're in the crypts underneath a desecrated(?) temple battling for their very lives against undead... but his tone is more akin to someone asking how the cleaning was coming along.

It must be something to spring into being, with a head full of knowledge you never actually learned and no practical experience with any of it. In hindsight, if all you're dealing with are incongruencies perhaps you should count yourself fortunate.

Malak hears Vice and 37 discussing the state of the obelisk. With his keen owlin eyes, he can see it is not far from done. He turns his attention away from the hoard surrounding he and SheK and draws a long bow from the elegant quiver on his back that seems far too long to fit.

Also retrieving an arrow, he nocks at, aims past the Warforged down the stairs and releases his shot.
