Child Mouse
The young mouse's eyes widen as she gazes at Bay. "Hello! It's so good to see someone. I'm so very hungry. Do you have anything to eat?" She sits down and invites Bay to join her, patting the ground beside her. "We could have a picnic. The weather isn't so bad today. Or maybe you want to play catch? This is a great spot for it." With enthusiasm, she holds up the object for their game, revealing another fragment piece.

Very satisfied with herself, Hazel dusts of her - of course - brown chest hair after her successful search. The nice ringing pibs already had found a new - dust free - home in the mouse's purse and the wooden symbol gets cleaned and taken as well. Maybe it could be help in the game against Ms. Melody? Or bartered?

Browsing through the guest list, the archeress also tries to find the room number of the captain. Just in case. Coming back to the second floor, she sneaks up to room 6 and listens very carefully if someone is in there. Maybe there is a keyhole where a clever mouse could take a tiny, innocent peak? Any sign of life?

I'm going to wait for @Adrasthea to post before talking further with the Child Mouse - FWIW at the moment I'm thinking that I'll try and encourage the Child Mouse to leave the circle and come with us to get some food inside the manor.

Hazel
Standing outside Count Gregory's room, Hazel can clearly hear loud singing coming from the adjacent room. Miss Melody appears to be practicing some robust opera during the day.

Putting her ear to Count Gregory's door, Hazel can hear a slight shuffling sound coming from within. Pressing her eye to the keyhole, she peers inside. Despite it being morning, the room is still dark. The only discernible feature is the shape of the bed, which appears to be more akin to a coffin than a standard resting place.
OOC:
Captain Mortimer is in room 2 next to your room.

Does Hazel just take the pips and the holy symbol?

Hazel currently has four items in her possession: wooden spikes, torches, rations, and a hammer. The holy symbol occupies an additional inventory slot filling up 5 total slots. Hazel is at risk of becoming encumbered if she picks up one more item.

Knocking on the door, the frizzy furred shed libarator asks: "Your coutness? Do you have a moment?" in hopes of a nice chat with the old geezer. Perhaps he could share some information with her.
OOC:
Hazel doesn't take her rations with her as long as she is in the manor. :)

"Your countness"? I am LOVING the way y'all are using language in this game!!

Count Gregory
As the door creaks open, a distinguished yet fatigued mouse greets her. His attire boasts a ruffled shirt, high collar, and a lengthy suede coat. As Count Gregory addresses Hazel with a thick accent, an unsettling sense of dread permeates the air, prompting an instinct of fear.

He asks "Yes? Can I help you?"
OOC:
Hazel needs to successfully make a WIL save or gain the frightened condition. This will take up 1 inventory slot, and she will roll at disadvantage while in the Count’s presence.

Typically the frightened status will cause the character to run in fear. However, Hazel doesn’t feel immediately threatened by the Count, so she wouldn’t run.

The condition will go away after a long rest.
His room, adorned in red and black velvet, is currently dimly lit, awaiting the evening when numerous candles will be ignited. An intriguing detail catches Hazel's eye that confirms what she suspected, there is no bed. Instead, a coffin occupies the space. The windows are veiled with heavy drapes,

Hazel may not be the smartest, slimest or most modest mouse, but she isn't faint of heart. So she swallows for a heartbeat before asking in her best honey sweet voice: "I am a guest in the manor, my name is Hazel. Do you live here? Did you notice any haunting? Have you seen part of a puzzle?" Here the brown furred mouse describes the parts their group is looking for.

And... "Are you a fan of Ms Melody?"

Count Gregory
The tired count raises an eyebrow and responds, "I am a guest here for a temporary stay. I am not a fan of Miss Melody's singing if that is what you're asking, and puzzles... interesting... I presume that you mean this?" He walks away briefly and returns holding up a fragment piece. "If you want this trivial thing, I'll give it to you if you can get Miss Melody to be quiet. I like to rest during the day, and her racket is insufferable. Opera, ugh, what an awful sound."

In regards to Hazel's other question, he adds, "Haunting? Curious you should ask. This manor does exude a certain mystical energy. However, it feels like it's being held back somehow. Nevertheless, I care little about that topic of conversation."

"Opera... ughhh" Hazel agrees readily. But coming back to the piece: "That sounds good enough to me. I'll take care of this immediately, your coutness!" Stretching out her paw in order to counteract the puzzle part, the archer hopes that the mousepire is of the trusting variety. Saying her goodbyes, the adventurous critter leaves the dim lit room and walzes right to the next door. There she knocks a nice rythm with the knuckles of her claw.

"Good morning, my dear! Can I interest you in a nice stroll before breakfast?" she flutes with her most trustworthy and persuasive voice.
OOC:
I will bring her outside and we can feed her to the crow so that we can take her stuff! XD Just kiddin'! ;-P

Hazel is a very down to earth, no BS mouse in my mind. So better Ms Melody then one of us! ;)

Miss Melody
The singing ceases as Miss Melody opens the door, greeting Hazel with a warm smile. "Oh, hello! You must be Hazel, right? I would love to join you for a walk, but alas, duty calls. You know what they say: practice, practice, practice."

Upon Hazel expressing concern about the noise, Miss Melody responds sympathetically, "Oh my. Well, if I were aware of an upcoming performance, I might consider taking a break. Perhaps you could help me by persuading one of our affluent guests to sponsor an opera I've composed." She gazes at Hazel with anticipation. "I believe Mr. Filmon, the Count, and Captain Mortimer are all quite wealthy."

Sky approaches the scene with a strangely sinking feeling in her gut. This isn't right. Something isn't right. Her whiskers twitch as she looks at the nefarious bird. Then her eyes dart back to the peculiar child.

"What's your name, little one? Are you not scared here all by yourself?" She tries to exude confidence and compassion, but does not quite succeed. Something out herre makes her hairs stand along her spine. She'll be damned if this is a natural circle...

Blossom
The child looks up at Sky and says, "It is scary, but I'm not alone. You're here! My name is Blossom." Glancing up at the crow and then back to Sky, she adds, "But maybe you can come closer? I don't want to wake him. I still would very much like a picnic, or maybe we can play catch? This area here is very nice," she points to the dirt patch she's in. "There's nothing to trip on."

No, not yet. He wants you to deal with Miss Melody’s noise first.

Bay stays firmly outside the mushroom circle and addresses Blossom:

"Hello Blossom! My name is Bay. Lovely to meet you!"

"I find it scary out here too, Blossom. Particularly with that crow perched up there looking over us. I'd love to play some catch with you, and go and find something good and warm to eat in."

"How about you come with me and my friend, and we can go and find somewhere less scary, safer, and more welcoming than here?"
OOC:
Bay is worried about Blossom, about how underfed she looks, and wants to help her. While, you know, not getting eaten at the same time. OOC I'm like hm this could be a trap, but I'm pretty sure Bay wouldn't be thinking about that.

Blossom responds, "You two are acting very strange. Why won't you come over here? Did I do something to make you upset with me? I'm just so hungry, and no one ever wants to play. Would you please come over here just for a moment?" Tears begin to well up in her eyes.

It becomes evident to Hazel and Sky that no amount of convincing will get Blossom to come out of the mushroom circle. If they want her to come out, it will be against her will. They'll need to find another way to handle this.
